I ended my afternoon's viewing by watching today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No Luke, no Noah, and no sign of them in the previews for tomorrow either.

Welcome Matt H.  I haven't seen the Bette Davis version since the remake aired.

I got to leave work an hour early today because our building and all of the buildings around us lost power.  I feel sorry for the people who were stuck in the elevators, though.

They could rehearse LAST SWEET DAYS OF ISAAC.

Back from lunch with my good friend Becky.  We both had one of the specials - Frontina panini & tomato bisque - sort of Italian grilled cheese & tomato soup.  We each added a small chopped salad and we shared an order of mocha crunch gelato.  I brought home a Bravo Insalata de la Casa (yum, one of my favorites) to serve to Richard tonight, along with spaghetti leftover from the other night.

Had a few telephonic conversations, listening to Harry Nilsson's Aerial Ballet (a GREAT CD), and shall now shave and then shower.

Cillaliz, I'm glad you made it home!

Thanks TPunk!  Boy were the girls glad to see me. The being mad phase lasted about 10 minutes - cut short by a can of tuna.  In the night, Boo nuzzled up against my face - her cold nose woke me up several times. They are both walking around purring and purring.

I am watching an episode of Intervention featuring a young war veteran- it is heartbreaking as are many of the episodes. It always amazes me how people can be so blind to how they have hurt each other.

Is this really how you want to spend your mental health day?  ;)

I love cats' mad phases. Growing up, my cat Grouchy used to have a brief period immediate relief, then she would remember that she was mad at me and would sulk.

Alfred E. Green was the Hollywood director who did the most Frances Farmer films (Ride a Crooked Mile, South of Pago Pago, Flowing Gold, Badlands of Dakota).  And lived to tell the tale.   ;D

Good point!  ::) I figure since it was sandwiched in between an episode of The Soup and Eli Stone, it would balance out. I'm trying to clean out the DVR.

DerBrucer, what you are obviously unaware of (and how could you be, considering the nefarious circumstances), is that was the evening you were implanted with the Republican Chip.  Your life has never been the same. ;D

Our kitten guests have given up trying to get my cheese and crackers and are now grooming each other on the cat condo.

[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THE INFECTIOUS INFECTION VIBES![/move]

Here's the story, and I'm stickin' to it!

It is an abscess.  I am on a strong antibiotic.  I am rinsing with warm salt water.  I am holding a warm compress against my cheek.  The swelling continues, but should go down this evening.
I won't see the dentist again until the weekend, once the antibiotics have begun their work.
He may extract one tooth, maybe two.  The teeth in question did have root canals done on them in the 1970s. . . . .
My spirits are up - everytime I pass a mirror, I have to laugh.  It looks as if I'm storing up nuts for the winter.

I loved her as Megara in Hercules! "I Won't Say I'm in Love" is one of my favorite all-time songs.

Mr. Rothman has a habit of arriving for our three-thirty meet time at least forty-five minutes early, which does put a crimp in my trying to do what I need to do before leaving.
