Well, you've read the notes, the notes were on the mend and rehearsed, not to mention happy, and now it is time for you to post until the mended, rehearsed, and happy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CLAVIER!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK!
-
I have some questions for BK...I sent an e-mail about the CDs that I'd like from the Indiegogo campaign. Assuming that all my choices are still available, do you have an idea about when you'll send out the CD perks? :)
-
Time for bed...finally. 8)
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR vixmom, I'm am happy you are safely home! How was the remainder of your excursion?
-
I may go into midtown today and have lunch with my friend Terry who works for Music Theatre International.
-
DR JohnG, I have one Palliser episode left now, and Annabelle, Thatch, and I will finish it tonight.
-
After The Pallisers, I have some Netflix DVDs, then I think we'll watch Brideshead Revisited. I missed in in the early 1980s when it was all the rage, but its leads, Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews, are in the last four episodes of The Pallisers. I also have the BBC Proms 2012 concert of My Fair Lady with Andrews as Higgins.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I could never get through that version of Brideshead Revisited. It seemed to stretch a fairly taut novel past the breaking point. The movie with Emma Thompson was not good.
-
I felt asleep posting yesterday. Have to run to work will be back tonight
-
Vibes for all
-
belated anniversary congratulations to Fred and Skip
-
Here's little Mego, now named Petey, in his new home with his friend Gizmo. He reminds me so much of Thatch. That's probably why I was so concerned for him.
-
Good morning, all.
-
What a beautiful pair o’ cats, and what a miracle for Mego/Petey.
-
Vixmom never lets us down when it comes time for a good adventure story.
-
And as soon as she said “Red Roof Inn”, I expected trouble.
They are AWFUL. I learned this at two different ones, both in the Cincinnati area.
The first one, years ago, would have been okay if it hadn’t attracted a clientele whose preferences ran to loud middle-of-the-night fighting and the setting off of fire alarms. The second one, several years after that and across town, initially showed promise with attractive renovations and management who seemed attentive and competent, and I was happy enough with it to return. But with each subsequent visit just over a year or two, I saw it go downhill, to the point that vixmom’s experience was entirely reminiscent of my final disastrous stay there. (I just thank the universe that the bed was clean.)
I transferred my business to a Best Western across the street, which not only started off excellent but they've done nothing but improve over the past seven years. A fine BW, and a night and day experience.
Yes, you’ll save a few bucks, but avoid Red Roof like the plague. We kid you not. And that locked lobby (“lobby”) thing at night is a good warning sign anywhere.
-
Red Roof Inn.....we never close.....
-
It is only going to be in the 50's temp wise today....and then 30's and 40's for the weekend....so I guess fall is here.....
-
Birdy Barnum enjoys sitting on his highest perch and looking out the window.....now and then he spots a bird to chirp out....
-
Yep, last two days here were in the high 70s and they felt like summer. Rain today (what else is new??), then 50s and lower starting tomorrow, with no promise of any decent stretch of dry days to come.
-
I may go into midtown today and have lunch with my friend Terry who works for Music Theatre International.
That sounds wonderful.

Uh oh. I have reservations at one next month. It is in a good part of town, though, so I hope I'll be ok.

Our weather has been glorious the last several days. I hope it stays this way and that summer is over for this year. Last year the AC was on Halloween night.

Oh dear. :) I hope it works out okay for you.
Which town? (Mine was in a perfectly good part of town, too, though set back a bit from the main road. On the other hand, so is the beautiful Best Western...)

You can always cancel that and make another reservation elsewhere.
-
My little Thatch is vomiting like mad this morning. i've now cleaned up two messes in two different locations and his nose is warm. Usually it's ice cold. I'm not sure if this is a passing thing or if I should be worried and call the vet.

As long as she hasn't pre-paid for a better price.

DR elmore is he drinking to make up for the loss of fluids?
-
DR elmore is he drinking to make up for the loss of fluids?
I have no idea. He has water and he usually drinks quite a lot during the day, more than Annabelle. Before I step out in about 20 minutes, I'll leave him fresh water.
-
Very nice story about Kitty Mego. I know we were all worried about him a few months ago.
-
Ugh. Mixed reviews. It is a busy weekend with several events going on nearby. I booked way early. Probably all the motels are booked now.
-
Super vibes your hotel is safe and clean!
-
good afternoon to all

Feel better vibes for Thatch!
-
Danise, Edi, and Ron are all fine after the storm.
-
ASK BK
Is the documentary King Cohen about director Larry Cohen the one who wrote the Levi musical?
-
My lunch plans went to hell. I needed to transfer to a No 11 bus at Lincoln Center, and one never showed up. I called my friend Terry and we rescheduled for next week.
-
Annabelle is driving me crazy today with her neediness. She usually ignores me and sleeps all afternoon. Today she's anxious, curious, and on top of me constantly. Maybe she's the sick one and not Thatch?
-
Sorry about that. How is Thatch?
-
I am on my way home from my elbow check where I received good news. Thanks for all the vibes.
-
Sorry about that. How is Thatch?
I'm wondering if she's worried about him?
-
She could be. Did you do a hydration check on Thatch? Has he stopped throwing up?
-
George, yes, I think we're shipping stuff this weekend.
-
Shayne, yes, the same Larry Cohen.
-
I'm up, I'm up - over ten hours of sleep. I'm groggy and foggy and groggy but hopefully when that clears I'll be feeling a bit better.
-

Great news, Jane! Thanks for sharing!

George, yes, I think we're shipping stuff this weekend.
Great! Thanks, BK!
-
Back from picking up a package and matzoh ball soup - came home and had it and a bagel (the soup, not the package). Listening to music and resting.
-
I'm heading out to see the new Orson Welles documentary "They'll Love Me When I'm Dead":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_kOsnGzfYY
It's (mostly?) about his unfinished but newly completed/reassembled film "The Other Side of the Wind" -- which I'm told by people I trust is not very good, but this documentary is wonderful.
-
A lull. ::)
-
I am on my way home from my elbow check where I received good news. Thanks for all the vibes.

:)
We went out to dinner to celebrate.
-
I'm at work, working away at ordering added and replacement titles.
-
Those take longer to do than new books because we have to search each title and pick the correct bibliographic record (because multiple titles come up in each search), instead of just copying the International Standard Book Number (ISBN, in library lingo) and pasting that into the search box to find the exact bibliographic record.
-
:)
-
I'm so glad you got good news today, Jane!
-
Once again I saw the amazing PA instead of the surgeon. X-rays first, then he walked in and asked how I am. Of course I wanted him to tell me and not the other way around ;D
Once I knew I was ok I began working on my list of questions, beginning with the items that caused us to be concerned I might have a problem. Keith now has more photos of x-rays, new & old, that give better views of all the hardware inside of me.
We left with a better understanding of the healing time frame & what will happen going forward. Only time will tell how much motion I will regain.

Thank you DR Laura. I hope you won't have to wait much long for exciting news.

Excellent news!!
-
Congratulations on the good elbow news Jane
-
I was at the office until 9 tonight
-
The closing for which I stayed to prep docs for until 8 last night and for which I rescheduled my oncologist checkup appointment this morning was cancelled 30 minutes after I arrived at the office
-
So that put me in a great mood
-
But back to my MO experience
-
Tuesday was quite nice. I had a good nights sleep,a hot shower, a free and delicous steak and eggs breakfast and then a leisurely drive to the seminar. It was interesting and informative and I got to meet many attorneys, paralegals and bank personnel I have been speaking to for years but never met
-

Nice. Did any of those attorneys offer you a job ;)
-
Lunch was "on us" iN the bank cafeteria , but it is apparently subsidized and huge... Is it all sorts of meals made to order. I had a delicous chicken Marsala and roasted Brussels sprouts and sautéed green beans with red peppers and mushrooms and slivered almonds for about $6
-
Not bad for $6.00 :)
-
after the afternoon session we had about an hour break and then there was a "mixer" open bar and various h'dourves
-

I "mixed" but didn't eat or drink ... Except for a ginger ale

the mixer ended at 7:30 so I said my goodbyes around 7:15 and headed back to the holiday inn. But I started getting puckish. On the way so I asked the Garmin ( that's the brand of GPS I brought, Jane, my previous one was a Tom Tom ). Where the nearest Cracker Barrel was.
It showed the way and off my little Ford Fieata and I went
-
Another fine meal and I headed back to the inn
-

Nice!

I had locked my case when I left in the morning and the combination.
Lock decided it would no longer recognize the combo
-
I began to panic because I had put my iPad in there and started imagining that the maid had figured out how to reset the combo and stolen my iPad
-
After about a hour of trying the combo , using my phone to try and learn how to reset the combination on a locked lock it finally occurred to me to ask the front desk for help

-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
I brought my case downstairs, the night manger went in the back came back with a small bolt cutter and snipped it off for me
-
I was quite relieved to find all the contents are as they should be
-
I went back upstairs, had a nice shower, layer out my clothes for the next Morning packed up and set the alarm for 4:30 am
-
Another nice nights sleep (albeit too short) and I was up, showered, dressed and off to the car hire return place by 5:15

The airport shuttle was right ther and I was at the airport by 6

Well, I must be off now. I'm going to my sister's because a co-worker of hers has a steering wheel that we can use as a prop for The Rocky Horror Show. The set designer has a car grill that will be attached to a moving bench (or something like that), so I just needed to get the steering wheel, which I now am about to possess.
Be back later!
-
Nipped through security and found a nice little breakfast place on the way to the gate
-
I forget what they called it but my breakfast was a mushroom red pepper asiago cheese omelet inside a puff pastry with two perfectly cooked strips of bacon on top
-
Lovely
-
This time I was seated over the wing with no seatmate.
-
My luggage came with me ( I did buy a new lock in the airport just in case)
-
Many thanks to TCB for last night's anniversary post.
-
And I moved up the center arm rest, spread out and snoozed until 15 minutes before we landed
-
When I got out of the terminal I had my first my first experience
-
I was amazed at how quick and simple it was
-
Thanks, vixmom, for the anniversary wishes.
-
Sorry to hear such bad experiences.
-
It was probably about $20 cheaper than if I had prearranged a town car pickup, so not a huge savings but the driver was pleasant, a nice conversationlist, the car was clean and coincidently the same year, model and color as Vixdad's new car

belated wishes as well to Skip & Fred on their anniversary
Thanks so much, Michael!
-
This is from that UK article .
Doubtless directing LuPone presents its own challenges. “I am exacting,” she concedes with pride, “and I push.” But listening to her is a hoot. “If someone has the talent they have the RIGHT to be temperamental. They complained about Bette Midler when she was doing Dolly, but she wouldn’t be exciting if she wasn’t temperamental. It’s only the ones who don’t have the talent and are temperamental who make you say, ‘Just get out of here!’” Who would dare argue?
-
Interesting article, Fred, , thanks for the link
-
George, yes, I think we're shipping stuff this weekend.
We are expecting another week of rain. Please ship mine in something waterproof, if possible. Thank you.
-
FJL please check your messages
-
Did anyone win that big lottery yet ?

LuPone is interesting, but the writing is just ragged and scattershot. How can you do that with a woman who practically writes her own story?
-
Good evening.
-
Belated Anniversary Wishes, FJL. I didn't remember that you got married. I'm beginning to lose it, I'm afraid.
-
Thank you DR Laura. I hope you won't have to wait much long for exciting news.
Very soon, Jane.
-
Wae-Ling is on fall break this week. Today we watched Into the Woods.

Belated Anniversary Wishes, FJL. I didn't remember that you got married. I'm beginning to lose it, I'm afraid.
Thank you, Laura!
We got married in 2014 on our 25th anniversary.

Did vixmom eat on this trip, or what?!?
Damn!!

The Welles documentary is great. Highly recommended.

I wonder if what she was getting at by “If someone has the talent they have the RIGHT to be temperamental" was actually “If someone has enough commercial drawing power, they have the RIGHT to be temperamental"
-
What the...
Did vixmom eat on this trip, or what?!?
Damn!!
I had the sampler dinner at Cracker Barrel.
-
Chicken and dumplings, meatloaf and sugar cured ham
-
I wanted Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts and carrots as my sides but they were out of Brussels BF carrots so I had mashed taters and beans instead
-
Good night, all.
-
Tomorrow is Paul McCartney.
-
Have a wonderful time!! Wish I was joining you
-
Good night all
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I'm glad to hear that Vixmom's adventure ended much better than it started.
Yes, a lot of food. All deserved, I'm sure.
-
Jane, very pleased for your good news. I'm glad the PA discussed your recovery with you. So often people don't take the time to do so.
-
Good news, too, that BK is on the mend.
-
Danise, Edi, and Ron are all fine after the storm.
Thanks for the update, Jane.
-
TCB, ChocZero comes in several flavors. choczero.com for details.
-
George, the machine that makes the little ChocZero squares hasn't been functioning properly, so they are sold out of most of those. No estimated date for renewed production.

Vibes to all.
Good night.

Jane, very pleased for your good news. I'm glad the PA discussed your recovery with you. So often people don't take the time to do so.
Yes. For 2 weeks I had been compiling my list of questions which helped with the discussion. Keith has been researching elbow injuries and surgeries and had his own questions. The PA answered them all and added more info we hadn't asked.
-
George, the machine that makes the little ChocZero squares hasn't been functioning properly, so they are sold out of most of those. No estimated date for renewed production.
This reminds......I was planing to attempt to cut the Fat Boy ice cream sandwich today but Keith was in the kitchen. He cut a piece for each of us. I will test my ability tomorrow.
-
When I got out of the terminal I had my first my first experience
Uber, Lyft?
-
Back from a very productive rehearsal - got a huge amount done and only have about fifteen more pages to block.
-
Dear reader George, perhaps you can link me to that place to get fake phones and laptops props?
-
Good evening.
-
Thank you vixmom for getting us to page 6!
-
No email today or this evening.
-
What is it that they say? “No news is good news!”
-
I sent an email a little while ago, but haven’t gotten a response just yet.
-
I guess I will just have to wait until tomorrow.
-
Tomorrow, I am having the laser procedure on my left eye.
-
I suppose I should get some sleep.

Goodnight, one and all.

Well, I didn't go to my sister's tonight.
-
Her boyfriend has an extra steering wheel cover that I can use for the wheel.
-
And she has a Bed, Bath and Beyond 20%-off coupon so that I can get a roller shade.
-
I'll get those on Saturday when we have our weeky family dinner.

I know! The co-worker's son actually works on cars, so it makes sense that he'd have access to a steering wheel...but what a fortuitous (for me) coinkydink!
