For a year or so in grade school, I noticed that the titles of more than half of the books I checked out from the local library had the word, "Summer" in them.

Someone is going to have to explain it all to me.

I'm not sure about the gossip piece, but in JRand's gossip picture, I'm the one in the dark hat on the top row ...

This was a nice surprise. It's one of the Google Doodle Regional Winners in the Grades 10-12 category. I noticed it because of the Rainbow Flag and then I saw the statement underneath.

I Wish

I wish for more hope, hope for the future. I wish there was more love. Love for the environment and people. I wish for more joy. I wish for peace, a movement for it. I wish for more trees. I wish for gay rights, now.

nope, don't see any there ... keep on looking ... (I know, I know, we're not supposed to talk politics ... or religion ... but I couldn't help it, Cheney, I mean, the devil made me do it ....)

Back from the long jog.  There is now a truck a half-block long parked in front of my house.  I do hope they don't think they're going to just LEAVE it there now, permanent-like.  Because it's not even on the street the house they've just decimated is on - that house is one house to the north of my corner house and this truck is not parked on that street, but the street that runs east and west.

Just had a nice conversation with the tear-down people.  There was a phone number on the truck and I called it.  She told me the half-block long truck will be gone by the end of the day and apologized for it.  She also said their part of the job is done by mid-next week - they're only doing the tear-down.  So, maybe the actual building won't start for a while.

Don't worry, they have paid a driver to show up every morning at six AM to warm-up the engine and change the parking spot a dozen yards, back and forth, every day.
