These only work if they're back to back and one went to the new page, so I'm posting them again.

Here's a shot from the old transfer, from the laserdisc master - the IB Tech reference print was used for timing.  Note the blue skies - that's what IB Tech blue skies look like.

The last typewriter I owned was the Brother Electronic AX-100.

I had this same typewriter. Once a year, little termites would hatch and crawl out of it (probably because it was the only warm thing in the kitchen) and immediately die. It was very "Andalusian Dog"!

td - Do you know David Campbell?  If so, tell him Skip Kennon says hello.

Skip worked with David Campbell in 1998, when there was a reading directed by Joe Mantello of a (now defunct, the underlying rights long since expired) musical of Don Juan Demarco, in which David played the title role and John Cullum played the doctor. Skip wrote the music, Craig Lucas wrote the book, and Ellen Fitzhugh wrote the lyrics.

Now the same shot from the new transfer, where no reference print was used.  Sharper, of course, but with not enough blue and too much yellow.

I do miss my IBM Selectric - what a great typewriter that was.

I used the Selectric at work at the Video Music Channel. I loved it, it was big---and LOUD!

And another shot from the new transfer, which is so orange and yellow that it's like a cartoon.  It should not look like that.  It looks like Ward Bond has jaundice.

Yews stood in the shade of beech and oak, with thick veins of ivy twisted round their limbs...

My DH and I had dinner at a nearby Italian place. When we went to pay our bill, we were informed that it had already been paid by someone who was sitting a few tables away from us. He didn't even want them to tell us who paid for it.

I didn't even notice anyone sitting to the side of us, but that was certainly a nice suprise. I wonder if it's someone who was influenced by the Dali Lama's visit this week?

I have a question for those of you who watch the Food Network.

There is a show here that just started airing on the Canadian Food Network. The Next Iron Chef.  I was wondering (without giving any spoilers) if anyone knew how long ago this show originally aired.  I've seen one episode and i really like it.

Thanks.

OMG DR Edisaurus.  That is so weird (for someone else to pay for your dinner). I've never heard of that happening in real life!

Vibes to Ebonie and Callie! It sounds like you will both be better off at your new vets!

We took Gris-Gris to the vet in Marietta today for her monthly allergy shot. I know we should start going to our local vet, but everyone in Marietta loves to see her and they give her the shot for free. It is a longer drive, but I know she loves all the attention she gets there. The vet, the coffee shop and the French bakery are the 3 things that I wish I could  relocate to Atlanta!

I will not eat anything sinfully decadent/rich/fattening tonight.

Since we got a free dinner, we had gelato! Yummmm!

The kittens we had that died of distemper came to us with the disease. They were always babies too tiny to have had their shots yet. We didn't know it when we got them, but it became apparent soon after. :(

Huh? We're talking fluid under the skin with a needle and an i v bag

Our ancient cat needed that once a week for several years. We never could get up the nerve to do it ourselves, but plenty of my friends do it for their cats.
