LOL td. DP Colin has just collapsed at the thought. It really was much worse than "The Beautiful Game" and "Aspects Of Dreary".

:-\

Well... Can you go down to the building mail room then? -I mean, it was sent "Priority", so... Maybe I should have sent it with Tracking - ???

I wish I thought of that before I left for the day.  I can try that first thing Monday morning.

You didn't send anything perishable like a cookie or a puppy, did you?

DR Jose - I tend to like ALL of Linda Ronstadt's recordings and find myself playing "Humming To Myself" often.  I've met others who don't care for it at all.  Your opinion?

I also love her "Winter Light".

I like "Humming to Myself".  However...  I saw her in concert twice before that album came out.  -And, boy, did it take a long time for that album to come out.  Alas, when I finally got the album, I was sort of disappointed to find that some of the songs she previewed in her concerts were not on the album.  ???  But I still like the album, although, one or two more uptempos would have been nice.

If he sent both, I don't think the cookie stood a chance.

Um, no cookies.  This time.  ;)

DR Dan (the Man) - So, is your resurrected iPod still covered under the warranty?  ;)

Once you open up your iPod on your own, not only is your warrentry void--you're forever on Apple's sh*t list.

Glad you liked it, Dan (the Man). I enjoy it quite a lot, too. My local video store, which specializes in cult and classic films, bought the first season, but it didn't do well. Rather sophisticated humor, I'd say. Perhaps best for those of us who have been in theatre or films. Does anyone know someone who really enjoys it but is also more mainstream? (Just curious.)

I never thought of myself as mainstream, in fact I always considered myself a theater person, but I didn't enjoy SLINGS & ARROWS.... and I love Paul Gross

DR JoseSPiano...how is it to play the dance section of Music and the Mirror?  It sure must help to have a drummer there.  I haven't looked at the score in a long time, but I would think that music doesn't really translate well to a piano reduction, rendering it awkward to play...

It's actually not that bad to play without a drummer.  The original piano/vocal reduction is actually quite well written and gratifying to play.  However, there are those two sections which are so drum set and timpani dependent, that having a drummer in rehearsal helps a lot.  (I think Baayork refers to one of those sections as "the Chita Rivera" ;) )However, I've made do by just playing chords with the appropriate rhythm and accents.  However...

The "new" version of "Music and the Mirror" is written out a little differently, plus there have been some adjustments made to the arrangement - and the vocal is a half-step lower for Charlotte.  I'm still getting used to it, since the original is so "in my fingers".  However, it looks like come July 24th, it looks like the vocal will be put back in the original key at least twice a week, if you get my drift.  We ran that "option" today, and it was nice to feel "at home" again.

*And one my fondest cast party memories was improvising a four-hand versions of "Music and the Mirror" with a friend of mine.  I played most of the main stuff, and he filled in with the instrumental cues.  Very cool.

...However, the drummer is brought in primarily to aid the dancer(s).  And in the process, it makes the pianist's job a little easier.

DtM's ipod death distresses me...I want to get an IPod, but don't want to go through all the trouble of downloading tons of music onto it only to have it die someday.

I want it to last forever. And for the price of them they should last forever!

Nothing lasts forever, DR MB.  One must take risks in life, love and handheld electronics.

DR MBarnum - I suspect for the same amount of money you spend a week month on Bollywood movies, you could easily afford to buy an iPod.  At least the 4G Nano.  ;)
