Well, wait 'til Toby has teeth - you'll be wearing a Kevlar vest!

"Zombie Jamboree" - I really like Rockapella's version.

And Nilsson's!

Early voting couldn't have been easier or more convenient. The voting place was not far from my house. We got there about 25 minutes early and were out in 10 minutes.

The parking at my usual polling place during Presidential elections is always a nightmare, and there is anywhere from a 45 minute to 1 hour wait almost always for the big elections.

And it's been raining softly all afternoon. The temps have REALLY dropped in the last few hours. It's going to be cold tonight.

When we finished, we went to have lunch, and then I got dropped off back home. I immediately went to do my usual Friday errands, so the afternoon was basically the same as usual even if the morning schedule was completely different than usual on Friday.

DR JMK, are you doing anything tonight?  Shalom Auslander will be speaking at Powell's tonight-7:30.  Wish I could go.  I just finished reading his memoir "Foreskin's Lament", a strange, funny, sad, interesting memoir.  Check it out.

I'm listening to the Portland band Smegma instead.  (A very, very, very inside joke that absolutely no one will understand I'm quite sure).

Ewwww.... "inside" was it's own inside joke too, I guess.  ::)

I was thinking the very same thing...and regretting it.

And from the "Things I Wish My Parents Had Told Me And My Brothers Before Now" department: My mom is a diabetic, and has been taking metformin for a couple of years already. However, she's never owned a blood glucose meter. Hmmm... I may have to speak to her nurse about this.  ???

*In better news, I also found out that my parents had not bought any of the plane tickets for our now-postponed family trip to the Philippines. From the wording of my Dad's "confirmation email", I thought everything had already been bought and paid for.

When I came in and got the groceries unpacked, I settled in for my work film of the afternoon - Kenji Mizoguchi's SISTERS OF THE GION. I liked it more than yesterday's OSAKA ELEGY, and even though the films were made in the same year, SISTERS engaged my attention much more than the one yesterday. The transfer was in better condition, too.

Then I watched last night's SUPERNATURAL.

It's a terrific episode, done as a 30s horror movie in black and white and featuring odes to several 30s monsters from Universal pictures. Great fun.

Will the correctness of the seasoning impact his sentence?

THE OFFICE had a really fun episode last night, too. Yes, the opening teaser before the credits was wildly funny. Other parts were just OK, but Dwight with the stroller had me laughing.

And I concluded the afternoon watching some of INFAMOUS on one of the HBO channels. I watched the whole thing before, but this was just a 20 minute chunk out of the middle of the movie since I didn't have time to start anything new.

I am going out to LA next week. On our agenda was an interview with Johnny Mandel and Neal Hefti, which makes me doubly sad that he has passed on.

What a hottie he was in his youth. And he still looked pretty danged good when he was older, too!

FOUR TOPS lead singer Levi Stubbs passed away in Detroit at age 72. He had suffered a stroke and was battling cancer.

I loved his performance in the movie LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS as the voice of Audrey II.

Here, too. The cats didn't like going to the vet in the rain, even though I covered them with towels as I carried them in.

We thought my big love cat might need surgery for the tear duct that has been blocked for over a month, and hasn't responded to antibiotics, but today the vet drained it with a needle and was very relieved that it did the trick. My kitty never stopped purring the whole time and afterwards rolled around on the table and nuzzled everyone. Elmo, the shy cat, stayed in the cradle of the scale with a blanket over him, hoping no one would notice that he was there. Everyone found them very entertaining.

I chatted with the vet tech, and he was the one who told me about Neal Hefti! (I'm way behind in the HHW world...)

I don't have "The bone Ranger." Perhaps you will lend me yours?

Strangely enough, the only staff I see walking around today are nurses. Female ones. I guess someone must have called ahead?  DR elmore?

;)

I only do that to the local gyms and nursing homes when DR MBarnum visits.

Of course, you're a decent person...but he thought that you were nekkid! (almost a "Goodbye Girl" reference)
