I did my good deed for the year today. I am tired. And my back hurts.

May I ask what it was?

Ginny, thank you so much for the photos! They are wonderful (if you can say that about cemetery photos).  I thought you had said you were sending them, but then I figured I was probably getting senile, and you had already sent them.

You're welcome, DR TCB.  I had mentioned that I'd be sending something, then forgot (talk about senile!).  The photos were taken by a retired coworker, who had taken his dad to that cemetery to visit ancestors' graves.  When I saw that he had quadruple prints of the Annie Oakley sites, I convinced him that he could part with one set!

Now, I hate to be a wussburger, but the heat and too much ibuprofen over the past week have taken their toll.

'night!

Yeah, I should go too, I have to read an entire trial transcript and start on a re-sentencing brief that's due tomorrow.  I've written about 6 or 7 briefs in the past week and a half and have 2 more to go before my long weekend.

Funny, I have worn 6 or 7 briefs in the past week and a half, and will probably wear 2 more before my long weekend.

I had a shrimp and crab salad for luncheon - a bit too much dressing but not nearly as much as usual.

That's it, meal-wise, so I'm fine, as I had a nice brisk jog this morning.  But I'm thinkin' I might have to have a piece of pie for dessert, oh, yes, I'm thinkin' I might have to have a piece of pie for dessert.

DR Nursie, the names, alas, are not from THE SECRET HISTORY, which is a gothic novel set in a college like Bennington, which the author attended.  The book could use a Mrs Squeezum, in my opinion.

DR Elmore, I read THE SECRET HISTORY about ten years ago and I remember loving and hating it, reasons of which I can't go into until you finish the book.

MattH, what was it about BOMBAY DREAMS that your friend did not like?

He said the score was banal and the plot uninteresting.

The Angela Lansbury interview was very interesting and if I'm not mistaken the longest one in the history of PRIVATE SCREENINGS. Usually they've been from 35-45 minutes. Angela's was almost the entire hour, and there were a few films mentioned that aren't usually mentioned when folks interview her. She was very candid and while she wouldn't say unkind things necessarily, you could tell from facial expression or inflection what she thought about certain people.

Thoroughly enjoyed the BONES rerun tonight. It was one of the more affecting episodes of the season involving a child slowly dying from a cancer she contracted from a bone graft. The show begins its second season at the end of this month (Fox shows start earlier than other networks due to Major League Baseball interrupting their fall schedule), and I can't wait for the new episodes.

RESCUE ME was excellent tonight as well as the gang at the firehouse seems to be splintering. SOme new characters introduced into the mix will also be fascinating to see. Alas, only 4 more episodes in its season.

I had a bowlful of Breyers' Vanilla Fudge Twirl.  Very good!

Breyers is a strange local brand--some of its varieties are so natural, they are made of little more than cream and sugar.  But others can be on the supermarket brand level with guar gum, cellulose gel and red dye #3 in the ingredients.

DR Cillaliz -- are you a public defender?

I'm a Federal Defender.  So, yes, but just for Federal Court.

I had a private practice for 10 years before I started doing this, I prosecuted for a very short time before that, I was a Maricopa County Public Defender for 5 years before that and worked for Judge Martone when he was an Az Superior Court Judge before that.  I also just finished 6 years on the board of directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.   Thus endeth the short version my legal resume
