Earlier I saw a photo of a cheese cake with a fudge icing type topping.  At the time I didn't realize it was what you will be doing or I would have shared the photo.  Now of course I can't find it.

I like Jose's idea of topping the individual pieces, it might give you a better idea of how much you want on the cake if this is just a trial run for fun, not for company.

I just read that Frances Reid from Days of Our Lives passed away. La Grand Dame is gone. I hope they give her a grand send off and bring back as many characters they can. She deserves it.

I used to watch it when I was younger and although I had stopped watching it I always enjoy the updates from my friends who still watch the show

DR Michael S - If you had read the posts from last night, you would have seen that DR Dakota Celt had already beaten you to the punch back then.

I need some help with a lyric from "Evaline McCook."  There are several words I cannot decipher in Herbert's handwriting of MacDonough's lyric. The point of the song is that Evaline McCook may be a country girl but she's savvy enough not to be conned by city slickers; she "knows her book."
Oh! She was a country girl
    Her _____  ____  __  full of hay,
But when she had to cross the street, she alwaus knew the way!
Oh! She was a country girl
But well did she know her book
If in search of a jay, you had best stay away from sweet Evaline McCook!

The missing words look, to me, like "Her smith was en full of hay" I usually have no problem deciphering Herbert's handwriting but this one's stumped me!

Larry, would it be possible for you to scan or photograph his handwritten lyrics?

No. I'm too untutored.

Larry, could "smith" be "smile" perchance?

I don't think it's "smile"; it looks like "switch," "swatch," " smith"? I am sure it's an h on the end. I swear the next word is "was" and the last looks like "en." He's implying that though she's from the country, she's very savvy. Google is failing me.

I need a good slang or colloquial disctionary from 1900: what is not full of hay or what is full of hay?

DR elmore - What is the ryhthm? note values?

Waltz tempo:

   Her  /_____  ______                    ___   /full               of        /hay
eighth/quarter  quarter  eighth rest eighth/quarter rest quarter/half

Larry, "switch" (as in whip) would make sense.

Could it be "switch was so"?

Maybe he scrawled "so" and it looks like "en".  ;)

I'm sad as today I found out Sherlock's grandmother passed away last month.  She was a couple of month's shy of 10, not a bad age for a Bernese Mountain Dog but we were hoping for much more.  We want longevity in his line.

So sorry DR Jane.  It doesn't mean Sherlock won't live a very long life

The Vixter alsas ddi not land the part of her dreams but had to settle for the part of French princess who apparently is very popular although she can only say one word - "YES"

She was musing about the part and saying "I don't understand why everyone would want to be with a girl who could only say one word  of English"

I said  "Um, she can't say "NO""

Her response...

"OH LAWD!  I'm Princess ADO ANNIE!!!!!"

>:( The letter from my insurance company telling me that they won't pay for my home health care from last week.  When I told our doctor Monday that I'd heard rumors that this would be coming, he said, "We could have put you in the hospital for the week - that would have been really expensive for the insurance company!"  He also said his office would do what they could to help me appeal.

On the bright(?) side, at least it's nice to know that you're insurance company works fast. :-\

On the real bright side, it's good to know that your doctor is on your side.

*That reminds of the time when my insurance company refused to pay for an ER visit.  Because I was not admitted, they did not think it was an actual "emergency".  If I had been admitted, I would have been fully covered, no questions asked.  ???

Yeah, DR Jose, the doctor(s) better be on my side, because coming home and having visiting nurses was THEIR idea - I'd been taken to a pre-admission room, told to change into a hospital gown, and was about to have an IV when they called and recommended that I go home and they set up the home health care.

Well, it's a little after 10:00pm here in Memphis, but my body and brain is most definitely still on NYC time - where it's currently after 11:00pm. -Which is a good thing since I really want and need to get a good night's sleep tonight.  And since I'm already sleepy, I think I should log off and shut down and get ready for bed before I find myself surfing the web during the wee hours of the morning.

Goodnight.
