Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in retrograde, and now it is time for you to post until the retro cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: WHOOSIS!
-
First post after BK!

T.O.D.
I am not much of a trendsetter when it comes to food. I do not like kale and I don't even know what quinoa is.

I am not even sure that George shouldn't be burned at the stake for putting cashews on pizza.

To each his own!
;)
-
And don't worry...I won't ask, "Have you tried it?" There are a LOT of things that I'll NEVER even try.
-
But I do love cashews. Recently, I even got some cashew butter for the first time.
-
I, also, love cashews and I would probably try them on pizza.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning to all
-
I have managed to secure a plane ticket at the last moment and will be leaving Florida today before Irma arrival.
-
I cancelled my Saturday flight which now look like I probably would not have left as I would have flown out of Miami.
-
On the plus side
The theater is now booked for my new play...January 19th
I will prep the Indiegogo campaign when I get back.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Great news on the play, DR Michael.
-
We grew kale when I was growing up, so I've eaten it all my life. And st the pre-high holy days dinner, I went to Sunday, the kugel was made with quinoa, as she makes it every year, because it's how the hostess had it when she was a girl --and she's older than me.
As long as it isn't yogurt or cheesecake (or I guess some genetically modified frankenfood) I'm okay with it.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have begun the laundry. One of the washers is out of order and the other sounds on its last legs.
-
I thought I would be stuck here all day with the mail and waiting for the Fed Ex delivery. I still have the Fed Ex and the laundry, so much of my day will be cleaning this apartment and putting things away.
-
Val tells me the electricians will be here to begin prep for the new elevator.
-
The flight home was rather weird:
1. It was on time; usually I have a 2-3 hour delay.
2. The stewardess was really kind and helpful; I was her Special Needs traveler since I needed wheelchair assistance.
3. A Middle Eastern man sitting with his wife about four rows ahead of me became violently sick and was throwing up like mad.
I also learned that at 6:30, rather than spending a fortune for a taxi or $15.00 for the Port Authority bus, which I did and which took forever, I should have spent $1.75 and taken the MTA M60 nus to 106th and Broadwau. I would have been home with more spare change earlier. Well, next time!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I shouldn't jinx this by saying it, but I have never yet had the honor of being in the presence of a vomiting passenger. Lordy.
-
But I am glad to hear that DR Elmore had an otherwise successful journey. Now we shall have to see about getting that man his Vernors!
-
And wow, who knew there was a bus running from LGA to the UWS? I wouldn't have had a reason for knowing, but you may still color me amazed.
-
No rehearsal today, which is nice following my double header yesterday. I do have to run up to the theater to help clear out the, um, "pit". But that's no biggie.
-
Last Monday, Aug. 28, I mailed my Medicare and utilities checks. The utilities usually clears in three days and there's been no sign of it. The Medicare cleared last Thursday and I continue to be unamused. The Postal Service is out to get me.
-
Jane, I finished the latest Michael Connelly, The Late Show, last night. Good stuff. Fast moving.
-
Two!
-
One of the washers is dead and Val has called the company for repair. It's taking me longer than I'd like to do the wash but everything is now in the dryers.
-
Is that nus anything like the Mexican Avenue nus, DR ELMORE?
-
Congrats to DR MICHAEL on his play AND on his escape!
-
Vibes for our WEST COAST denizens....hopefully the fires and ash will soon begone!
DR TCB does the ash and fire air bother Dear Kitty Nicky?
-
DR JANE I am so sorry this is effecting your walking schedule and outdoor activities....that is a PAIN in the....uh.....neck.
We are having beautiful weather here....just cool enough for a short sleeve shirt and no jacket....not HOT sunshine! I hope it continues....for about eight months! LOL
The pump comes off today!
-
TOD:
I don't know from au courant foodstuffs. The newest thing I ever eat is SPAM.
-
Great play booking news. Michael!
-
Tom Jones, an author/lyricist of some repute (you may have heard the name), is planning to come see our production of that marriage show. He lives about an hour north of here.
In other news, he says he's been rewriting/tweaking it again.
-
The electricians have arrived and they turned off the electricity while I was riding the elevator to the basement. I stood in pitch black darkness between floors yelling for help until they restored power and apologized. It also screwed up the running dryers. Thank you, gentlemen, and screw you.

He does this with every show. I wish he'd stop.

Thursday
morning afternoon greetings! I've been up a while, but busy baking Rob some blueberry muffins for his birthday. He's 32 today - how did THAT happen?

Thanks, DR Elmore. They enjoyed their anniversary dinner - Melting Pot is one of their all-time favorite restaurants.

The plane is delayed three hours. I'm glad I checked before I left for the airport.

A salad we like at our local restaurant, Beaches, has delicious caramelized cashews.

Did the airline give you a full refund?

Yea for the pump removal :)
Don't feel bad for me, even with swimming instead of walking I managed to record 8.85 miles on my fitbit yesterday. Our biggest interruption to exercising was our company that didn't want to walk in the heat.
I can feel the smoke in my lungs and am coughing some but it isn't bad. I have felt worse when the pollen count is high.
-
Jane, I finished the latest Michael Connelly, The Late Show, last night. Good stuff. Fast moving.
Thanks. I just put a hold on it and am #83 on 24 copies. That is a lot of copies purchased even for eBooks.
-
I put a hold on it at my Oregon library and am #151 on 10 copies.
-

Did they at least pay to restart the dryers? Horrible they didn't check the one elevator in your building.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
I'm a little behind (no mean feat) - must catch up. Just heard Lanny's mock-ups of the first four pieces of music for Levi - really good. The band is two keyboards, bass, drums, two reeds, and a violin.
-
Great news about Tom Jones, ChasSmith
-
Like Larry, I wish someone would stop Tom from messing around with his shows - he doesn't make them better, and frequently makes them worse.
-
Topic of the Day: I've never had any "trendy and new food things like kale and quinoa and that stuff that didn't exist five years ago," and never intend to. ::)
-
;)

I shouldn't jinx this by saying it, but I have never yet had the honor of being in the presence of a vomiting passenger. Lordy.

A Very Happy Birthday to DS Rob!! :D

Thanks, DR George. He just started today's shift at work.
-
Happy birthday to Rob!

32 seems young to me. Happy Birthday to Rob!
-
I shouldn't jinx this by saying it, but I have never yet had the honor of being in the presence of a vomiting passenger. Lordy.
You could finally have that honor if you sat next to me during a turbulent flight.
-
Happy birthday to Rob!
-
Page three? Really?
-
What would you all think if the October Kritzerland was The Loewe Down - The Music of Frederick Loewe? That's one possibility.
-
Of course we've done lyricists that Jule Styne worked with we've never actually done Jule Styne.
-
We could call that A Styne Romance or Styne and Dandy.
-
Then again we've done an awful lot of Styne songs over the years but then again there are so many we haven't done.
-
Decisions, decisions. Trying to think of other ideas and composers we haven't done yet.
-
Good evening!

Sounds good to me!
-
Happy Birthday to Rob!
-
DR elmore--I've had the same problem with the post office. I put my mail on hold and come home to find the mail jammed into the mailbox, including my passport a couple of years ago.
-
Travel vibes for DR Michael!
-
Styne is Fyne for me.....so many hits and I'm sure there are tons I've never even heard!
-
DR ELMORE I thought you wrote nus instead of bus in a post earlier today - but I could be wrong.
Great workout DR JANE....in spite of the obstacles.
-
I never heard of cashews on pizza, but it sounds good!
-
Two more
-
I mean one more. Page 4!

Now there seems to be some controversy AGAIN about my treatment.....I was told infusion, pump off two days later.....two full weeks....next infusion treatment.
Now they tell me only ONE WEEK between sessions.... so I may be done on November 2 instead of November 28 - UNLESS somebody is wrong again....I have a feeling I will be hearing from the doctor this week....
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Continued mega vibes to JRand.
-
DR Michael, I'm glad you got a flight out of Florida. Not a good place to be right now!
-
Larry, I'm glad you got your mail and packages.
After lots of trouble with USPS--and someone stealing a check of mine put in the outgoing mail--I now do most transactions electronically. Much safer!
-
Happy birthday to DS Rob!
-

It is, Kevin! ;D

I like quinoa very much. I should cook it at home; it's quite easy.
There used to be a Native Foods Cafe near me that served an Azteca salad--romaine, avocado, and pumpkin seeds on a bed of quinoa. So good! I miss them and especially miss that salad.
-
Continued mega vibes to JRand.
Amen.
-
Cashews are often used by vegan chefs as a substitute for dairy products. I recently had cashew cream, a vegan whipped cream. It didn't taste like whipped cream, but it had a similar consistency. It wasn't bad.

Ruby chocolate, anyone?

We are very lucky here to have an excellent, trustworthy mailman/post office. We don't bother asking neighbors to collect our mail anymore and they don't ask us.
-
Thank you to DRs FJL, Jane, John G, KevinH, and Jeanne for the birthday wishes for Rob!
-
DR Vixmom it doesn't look like you can go to Florida on Friday. I suppose you could drive part way there. Any chance of the Vixter meeting you half way and getting out of Florida?
-
Well, I'm off. Tonight, one of the actresses in Silent Sky is having a birthday and the stage manager is bringing a cake! Can't miss that. Of course, we also have a show tonight, so there's that. ;)
Be back later!

Well we've cancelled out trip to Florida, since vixdad has to take his vacation , not allowed to reschedule we are now going to Pennsylvania.
-
DR ELMORE I thought you wrote nus instead of bus in a post earlier today - but I could be wrong.
Great workout DR JANE....in spite of the obstacles.
I might have. My typos are usually off by one letter and n and b are next to each other, so . . .
-
BK, with all your symphonic listening, have you considered Swedish composer Hugo Alfven? I think you'd like him.
-
Well we've cancelled out trip to Florida, since vixdad has to take his vacation , not allowed to reschedule we are now going to Pennsylvania.
DR vixmom, how are The Vixter and BF dealng with Irma?
-
I loved doing the Lerner and Loewe show in May. There are so many good songs in The Day Before Spring, and it seems like a million songs went in and out of the stage versions of Gigi. I was happy we performed the out-of-town version of "On the Street Where You Live," which is to the final version what "My White Knight" is to its final version.
-
Watched half a movie - kept falling asleep. Must figure out where I can put this pile of classical CDs - it's bugging me. Closet is full up.
-
I have no Alfven and might try.
-
Another show option is Legrand, but we just did Mancini so it's too soon for that. Elmore is the out of town version of Street easy to get? Do you have a program of what you did? I only know the Day After Spring song that Brent did on our Lerner CD.

I will try to get a scan of the program to you next Monday. I have to go to City Center to do it. I may have Rob's lead sheet for the song on my computer. I will check.

Pennsylvania is beautiful. We lived there for 5 1/2 years. Where in the state are you going?

They're central enough that they're not being evacuated. Stocking up on essentials so they can ride out the storm. I wish I would be there to ride it out with them...
DR vixmom, how are The Vixter and BF dealng with Irma?

I just spoke to my Mom and Dad's home helper. She was in the process of picking up a walker and other stuff they'll need in the shelter (which is in the high school in their area).
My Mom and Dad are in the shelter already, and the wonderful helper said she'll check on them tomorrow morning. Luckily, she lives not that far away from Mom and Dad.
We're relieved they decided to go to the shelter rather than just relying on boarding up their windows. Their community is inland enough so that they said it was never labeled "mandatory evacuation."

I just sent the song.

Vibes for a good decision-making process for Jrand's doctors and Jrand!
-
BK - could it be time to survey sci-fi and thrillers again. (wonderful material in Brain From Planet X, of course, as well as Skip's Herringbone, Time and Again, but also many other sci-fi and thriller musicals)

I didn't know but last week there was a preview write-up (http://www.theolympian.com/entertainment/article170385797.html) of the show!

-
It's intermission and the show is going well.
-
Act 2!
-
Nice review, George.
-
Vixmom, I'm glad you've changed your vacation plans.
-
Good night, all.
-
Vixmom and FJL, thanks for the updates on your family members.
-
I hope DR Michael is in Montreal.
-
Nice review, George.
Thanks, John!
-
I thought about a "scary" horror/thriller/sci-fi show for October. But what would it include besides The Brain/Last Starfighter? I guess it could include Starmites (and maybe Sharon McNight could reprise her starring role), Sweeney Todd, I guess, Carrie - what else? Then I could make the Loewe show November.
-
Is there a Dracula musical - I'm not misremembering am I? And Dance of the Vampires? What else? Was there a Frankenstein musical?
-
What about selections from the "Jeepers Creepers" CD?
-
That, too.
-
The show's almost done and it was a good performance. The audience enjoyed it. :)
-
Be back later!
-
Later? Now is later.
-
Good evening!

The smoke seems to be lifting here.

Hopefully by tomorrow.

Equifax has been hacked. Over 140 million Americans have had their information compromised.
-
Isn't that a cheery news story?
-
One more post.

-
I watched a really sweet movie today. It was called THE PERFECT WEDDING (2012).
-
Spent thirty minutes beginning the garage adventure. Took down six boxes and uncovered about ten pieces of art - some bad, some cheap, and a couple of absolute gems, including one pictured in one of the art books I looked through recently. One paperback book cover (I have the book somewhere here), one unpublished New Yorker cover (that's the one pictured in the book - very famous New Yorker artist, Garrett Price). One concept painting from The Great Race. A couple of things that could be from something, and some things I must have just got very cheap two decades ago. I knew some of this had to be there and there it was.
-
Must shower now - many cobwebs.
-
Tomorrow morning, I start throwing a lot of stuff out.
-
The smoke seems to be lifting here.
It was much better today. Boats were on the river again.
-
Equifax has been hacked. Over 140 million Americans have had their information compromised.
I'd read that but I wanna know if they got MY info! :-\
