Well I hear Lea and Perrins have broken up. They say it was quite the saucy affair.

In another case of lemonade -

I got a call from the store.  The store's manager, Carol, was told by the regional management that she'd overscheduled this week's cashier's hours.  As a result, my hours for Saturday have been dropped (I've a hunch others have had their hours cut, as well).

But this turns out to be a good thing.  Saturday, elder Grandlad will be in Baltimore for the Pinewood Derby regionals, along with his Daddy.  Magic Mommy, meanwhile, has a shower she'd like to attend.  Which leaves younger grandlad William.  He's on standby - his Pinewood car didn't quite qualify at the local level, but if one of the other kids drops out, he may get to go.

The last thing Daddy wants is to be keeping two kids under control, while they will be running in opposite directions.  And Daddy has a short fuse on his temper as it is.

My being free on Saturday gives us two options.  If William goes to Baltimore - which would be great - then der Grampa and I could tag along and help with the grandlads.  On the other hand, if William doesn't go to Baltimore, we head to their house and spend time with him, while Magic Mommy takes that shower.

So, everything comes out fine!

Like I say, lemonade!

I heard Tams and Whitmark have broken up.    :)

Well, they were separate leasing companies until 1925.

RE: max actually starring on broadway in GREASE.

I would actually be surprised if he didn't open.  If they are going to do this sort of thing, and have the prize be broadway then they need to let the winners be on broadway.

I actually love max.

Do you remember this personally?   :o

BTW, Charles E., formerly of the NYPL, was pleased that you remembered him.  :)

DR MBarnum, I marvel at the way your posts lower the taste level of this site!

Be fair, Larry....there is "another"...!

Would you cast Pearls before Swine?

Jose was here and saved Skip and my mental health by hooking the internet to our new computer, which was a task beyond us.  He also helped me put up the "separated at birth" avatar of me looking like Ron Pulliam's long-lost brother.

Pearls didn't have to sing or dance - she was the comedienne with the hat, remember?

Thanks, I think it's form the same era as DerBrucer's sea-gazing photo.  :)

Skip was just moved to recreate the moment in MIRROR CRACKED where Kim Novak said to Liz Taylor:  "How nice to see that not only have you kept your lovely figure, you've added so much to it."

DR Jennifer, what did you think of TAR last night?

SPOILERS FOR LAST NIGHT'S SHOW.

*
*
*

I liked it. Although i would have rather the guidos left.  I never really liked teri and ian in their previous race. But i thought they were pretty good racers this time around.

It was very different to me (last night's show). Instead of total bunching we had like 4 tiers of players. It was like watching 4 different races happening at the same time. Last week everyone was racing at the same time. And this week there were so many hours of difference. I didn't have to worry about my beauties losing.

I was surprised that charla/mirna were brave enough to get on that first flight. And also surprised that nobody went with them. That took guts.  And did anybody notice how they were edited. Totally different. All the last weeks they were shown to be drama queens and mirna was looking like a lunatic. But this week charla (little one) did most of the interview talking. And it was like you almost were cheering for them to come in first (since they really deserved it).

It will be interesting to see next week how far behind the guidos are. I'm guessing it must be like 12 hours. If charla/mirna's boat hadn't been delayed by storm they would have been a whole day ahead!

I always complain about bunching. But i guess it would be pretty crazy to have one team a full day ahead. Especially one i don't really like. :)

But i guess one thing i did like about last night was that there was room to separate the teams. You had to do tasks. YOu had to go on different flights. It wasn't everyone all on the same flight.

I must say though i am quite shocked that C/M have been #1 for two weeks in a row. I never would have guessed it.

Monday greetings!  Just back from a delightful day on the campus of The University of Dayton.  I was guest lecturer in 2 sections of an English class in which small groups of students are matched with real nonprofit agencies.  They have to research funding prospects (that's where I come in) and write a proposal.

Had three packages today, the most important of which was The Brain edited tapes.  Hoo and ray for that.

Also got the new Philippe Rombi soundtrack to Francois Ozon's new film, Angel.  Like all of M. Rombi's work, it is filled with glorious and wonderful melodies - he's like the love child of Philippe Sarde and Michel Legrand, and how wonderful this score is - there won't be a finer one this year.
