I find elmore's Facebook friend requests interesting as I have had an annoying request. ....

I was asked to befriend a person I know of, not know personally.  She is causing a friend of mine a good amount of grief & obviously browsing my friend's friends & inviting them to be her friend.

I clicked on "ignore" & was then given a choice of options, "spam" or "ignore".  Which should I do?

I've usually chosen "ignore," since it's not really spam.  It's a real person with some connection to someone you know, not a come-on to join a separate (usually porn) website.

I'm tiiiiired.  I've just finished prepping the new Kritzerland release.  Happily, one of this morning's e-mails was the lightening quick approval, so that was very heartening.  I've written blurb and sent it and the mp3 sound samples to the designer.  We're announcing next week, but I'll probably give the advance here on Friday at midnight or Saturday at midnight.  It's a great score to a great and beloved film by a great director, featuring great stars.

Since the two people ARE NOT friends there really shouldn't be a connection.  It is more like stalking.  That is why I thought spam might be more appropriate here.

Headline on Roadrunner: TV star's dog kills daughter.  I click to find out who the "TV star" is - then we find out "a reality TV star" - I guess they've never heard of the word oxymoron.

My NYPL librarian friend Bob Kosovsky just sent me the greatest site:

I've been downloading all the Victor Herbert music I cannot find at the NYPL!

And NBC is showing two back-to-back LAW & ORDER: SVU episodes tonight starting at 9.

In the first, Kathy Griffin guest stars as a lesbian activist.

In the second, Christopher Meloni is reunited with his old OZ bedmate/soulmate Lee Tergesen that I'll be interested in recording.

I thought they were the hottest couple ever.

John G., you were 300 yards away and got that photo? Wow.

Sorry if that were unclear. The guide spotted her from 300 yards away, then we drove up to about 20 away for the pictures. Many of the cats we saw -- lions and cheetahs -- were often within reach of our vehicles. It was great to see them up close.

Thank you for explaining that.  I don't know very much about cameras, but I was amazed that you could get that shot at 300 yards.

Remember how I used to complain about all the whores wanting to be friends on MySpace? Well, they're moving to Facebook. I've turned down a couple of young ladies in the past month, and today I turned down a young man who told me he liked older men! If any DRs want to meet him, I'll send you the info!

Please!

Did everyone hear about the cruise ship in the  Mediterranean that was struck by three huge waves?  Two people dead and six injured.  It was supposedly off of Barcelona, so it was in the same area that I was cruising.  It was also about the same size ship as the Insignia.

We were told at work today that the hiring freeze may be in effect until June of 2011.  We are already down to three employees, instead of five; and after July 30, we will be down to two employees, and I will be visiting the Francis Farmer suite at Western State Hospital.

I finished last night's Lost, which seemed more Lost than ever.  A couple of good moments, but a lot of flailing, Alias-style.

I did see that.  When we went to Alaska we hit hurricane like winds.  There were people posted at the doors to keep us from going outside.  At first I thought people were on deck when the waves hit, how scary they were inside.  At least I think they were inside.

Yes they were apparently inside.  Several of the front windshiels were shattered.

Beautiful photo John G.  Most of my life I had a dream vacation of an African safari.  I somehow think that won't happen now.  I don't think I could handle bouncing around in a jeep.

Then I watched BITCH SLAP. Well, it wasn't sleazy, and the director, writers, and producers all had their hearts in the right place wanting to do an homage to the old Roger Corman movies like FASTER PUSSYCAT, KILL KILL.

But the movie was just TOO long so they could have several catfights, some girl-on-girl sex scenes, several beatdowns of various men, and lots of surprise revelations and discoveries.

It was all shot with an HD camera so it looked very nice even on its super low budget.

Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! is one of my favorites. I have a framed copy of one of the posters, and T-shirts with three others. "The sweetest kittens have the sharpest claws!" "Russ Meyer's Ode to the Violence in Women!" "Belted, Buckled and Booted!" Great use of exclamation points!

This morning Sherlock was very happy to finally have some snow. We took a nice long walk with him.  There wasn't a lot of snow but what we had was wet & slippery.  Keith headed out to the gym & couldn't get down our driveway which shows you how slippery it was.  Keith's SUV even has studded tires.

And it seems that Maureen McGovern was singing "There's Got To Be a Morning After" on the Lido Deck at the very same time!   ;)

I was traveling with an 84-year-old friend and she was joined by an 80-year-old friend of hers. They survived the jeeps nicely, but you do need stamina.

My computer is playing dead again.  This time Keith is giving me his old computer & getting himself a new one.  I'll will be very happy not to deal with the temperamental computer again.  I'm going to let it rest until Keith is ready to transfer my info over.  Rest seems to solve the problem where nothing else does. ???
