I did hear from a producer in NY who'd been interested in the Brain - he's heard the CD and was quite taken with it. We'll be having some discussions after he's read the script, which I'm sending him shortly, along with our reviews and press materials.
Are you writing your review right now?
Will we never get to page two?
TOD:
I read two autobiographies simultaneously Marni Nixon (I Could Have Sung All Night) and Donna McKechnie (Time Steps).
Both interesting reads and I learned alot more about both people. Especially Marni Nixon who worked as child actress in films. I especially enjoy two sections of Mckechni's story: How show suffered from arthritis and was able to walk and dance again. Also her marriage to Michael Bennett and its aftermath. From his bio's I knew he was nice man, but Donna wrote with some what affection about his dark side.

Film at 11.
I called the non-emergency dispatcher at the police department and gave her a description and license # for the mystery van that's been in front of our house
Are you sure it's not our dear Elmore's?

And the word of the day is: ASSOIL!Olive Oyl was much agrieved that Popeye had forgotten Valentine's Day... again! So when he finally arrived at her at her door with a woebegotten bouquet of peonies, she stuck her nose as high in the air as she could and proclaimed, "You have too much to ASSOIL so easily this time, Popeye! SO SAIL to the far corners of the Earth, and never darken my doorway again!" With that, she spun around, slamming the door in his face, but misjudged, kept spinning, tripped on the entrance rug, and fell on her own face with a magnificent splat.
There, that's better. Will we never get to page three?
And the word of the day is: ASSOIL!
I may go out and get drunk with Randy and Jo Ann tonight.
Are you sure it's not our dear Elmore's?
Perhaps they could combine and take The Brain to the Big Apple?

Good morning. Well it's not yet 11:00 AM and I have finished the laundry, dug out from last night's snow, eaten breakfast and cleaned the kitchen! Whew! I am relaxing for a few minutes before I shower and pack for my overnight trip.
Cason Murphy IS Zubrick...there can be no other choice!

OK, folks, I'm about to make my way over to the funeral home. In perfect conditions, it's only about a 10-minute drive. Today - who knows? Please give Larry a big hug from me
Bye for now.
The Marvelous Matt (painter/handyman/restorer) just left.
Can I have Marvelous Matt when you're done with him? ;D
Is he cute?? ;)
I'm sure the sheetrock he works with is well-hung.
Please give Larry a big hug from me
I did, DR Vixmom, and was proud to represent HHW.
Can I have Marvelous Matt when you're done with him? ;D
Thanks! Did the McBeths behave?
The last book I finished was "The Glass Castle" which was awesome. ...
DR Matthew - The Glass Castle is the Dayton area's Big Read 2007 selection and the author will be here the weekend of March 30-31. I read it last month for my book group and one of my co-workers said, "Don't you just want to smack those parents up the side of the head?" After I repeated that to my group, we went around and each of us had a different "smack 'em" moment. When I told the Big Read discussion leader trainers about that, they decided to make "At what point did you want to smack the parents up the side of the head?" one of the official discussion questions.
This was taken from our living room window this morning. Don't you think if you'd left something this big somewhere on Tuesday morning you'd miss it before Saturday?
Off to make fruit salsa for the Tres Leches Cake
And here's a close-up. See how I've put a heart sticker on each book? Well, I discovered this week that those stickers sure went on a lot more easily than they come off :P
Can I have Marvelous Matt when you're done with him? ;D
Maybe later on, you could come up with a Library Scavenger Hunt of sorts, and have people find the books with the heart stickers on them.
Is he cute??
;)
and me next? For some reason nothing ever seems to get done around here......

If you only knew how the problems I've had with contractors!!
Oh, I guess I didn't get Edi's joke. George, you'd have to decide for yourself. He's nice-looking, dark hair, early 40's--and married.
elmore, was it Mr. Gardner you spoke to?
John Kerr? THE John Kerr?[/b]
...
I'm sorry I didn't get to spend more time with our DR Ginny. I wanted to learn how she liked the Mozart book and what her book group thought of it.
Well, DR Elmore, I'm off tomorrow and Monday, so c'mon over anytime. Still have some German chocolate cake and Vienna Dream Bars leftover from book group (only 3 hearty souls ventured out Thursday night).
DR TCB - My DH has been listening to the Cat Who mysteries and I sort of got caught up in one while riding in his car not long ago.
Also, have you read The Glass Castle? I'd be interested in your professional perspectives. In fact, for the March brownbag lunch that I put on for nonprofit folks at the library, we're going to discuss the nonprofit implications in the book. March 14, 11:45am-1pm EST, bring your lunch, we'll provide beverages and dessert!
No, I haven't read it yet. It is probably something I would rather read while recovering from my next major surgery or while on the deck of a cruise ship. More and more my nocturnal reading is limited to more mindlessentertainmentreading.
Last night DP Colin and I watched "Annie Get Your Gun. Neither of us had seen the movie since we were children (NO! Not in our thirties). It was a pleasant nostalgic voyage. My favourite Colonel Buffalo Bill lives in Tacoma (in hiding from the Nazis).
And now I'm going with my sister to Costco. Then, I get to work concessions at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts where Capitol Steps are performing tonight! It should be a VERY rowdy croud. :)
Ginny-I have enjoyed your posts and photos very much today.
DR-elmore, I'm glad the service was everything it should be.
Cason Murphy IS Zubrick...there can be no other choice!
....By the end of my Master studies, I should be the resident expert on Eugene O'Neill --
Eugene I'Neill? What plays did he write? ...
- man, was it hard.
This was taken before the installation of my new flat-screen monitor, but notice what's on the screen ;)
where can I get the Vixter a sailor style Japanese schoolgirl costume that will not make her look like she's working the street corner?
No mail from Kritzerland for me today - now I'll be Brain-less until at least Tuesday.
I have just returned from a day-long gardening class at t arboretum. Now I am hungry.
BK, did you visit with Ms. Gogi Grant?
I would guess I own MORE B I G movies on DVD than any other director.
DR ELMORE - sounds like you are making it through with your usual aplomb - a plum as the case may be.
elmore-When all this is over you should write a memoirs. You have such rich stories and the gift of a natural writer.
DR JOSE - a brand new MAD Tv tonight!
Which is why we haven't hired any. Which is why we're proceeding at a snail's pace and haven't moved!
Will we never get to page seven?
Of course, the one pot I've been hoping to come across - my Le Creuset Dutch Oven - has yet to be unearthed. ???
Will we never get to page nine?
No...I wasn't joking! I need someone to hang sheetrock in our entryway.
I need a mudman
To fix up my wall
To repair the ceiling
And patch up the hall!
I thought the service was tasteful and not too long, although my dad's beloved bluegrass music goes a long way fro me with some of its very raw tones and pitches. The minister, whom we met on Thursday, did his homework and I liked him a lot.
My brothers and only a few friends followed the coffin on to the gravesite, and I must say it was beautiful and very Charles Dickens: mourners in black, colorful flowers, and everything covered in thick falling snow. My brothers, I, Cory, Damian, the pallbearer whose name I didn't get, and the cemetary workers carried the coffin to the grave from a gurney that carried it from the hearse. I watched it lowered into the ground and we all returned to our cars. All in all, it was a very gothic and romantic burial.
No mail from Kritzerland for me today - now I'll be Brain-less until at least Tuesday.
But not nearly as full as last night.
Hi lovelier than lovely Jose .......... I don't blame you !! :)
And now I'm going with my sister to Costco. Then, I get to work concessions at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts where Capitol Steps are performing tonight! It should be a VERY rowdy croud. :)
I sped ahead to the end of the episode.
- I opened a bottle of Sparkling Raspberry Apple Cider that I received for New Year's.
I also have a much greater appreciation of DR Cason's voice. I was enjoying his performance so much that I didn't even pay attention to the fact that he is quite the singer! I should like to hear more of his voice on CD someday.
Back from Pippin - first time I ever wanted to walk from a job - well maybe the second - I'm just irritated by Musical Directors who can't admit that they might be wrong.
Will we never get to page eleven?
Ah, music to a mother's ears. DR MBarnum, you are earning major points with your Cason posts!
DR MBarnum - The week of June 25th you say? Hmm... Well, we do have a nice hammock in the backyard here, so...
;)
And I shall most likely be sent to my room by offering that, Cason notwithstanding, I found "Stages" a more enjoyable listen than "Brain".
(Obviously my opinion might be radically offered if I saw the show staged; or, as is sometimes the case, on repeated listening.)
der Brucer
This is not to say I did not thoroughly enjoy Brain
DR George - I love the Capitol Steps! They performed for a library scholarship fundraiser I attended in Washington, DC, right before the first inauguration of GW Bush. Have fun and tell us all about it later.
The scores to Stages and The Brain From Planet X are polar opposites.
PSYCH was a new episode, however, and Sean and Gus investigate the stalking and attack on a female tennis player. Good mystery with a surprise guilty party.
