Good morning! The Steelers won by the hair on their chinny chin chin. Not a pretty picture. If the Steelers weren't playing so horrible I would say it was an entertaining game (like the ball stuck in the mud). I picked up my boys from Heinz field around 11:30ish last night. They were drenched ...

We stayed up late last night (this morning) and watched '300'. Everyone is sleeping the day away today. Ahhh, to be young again ... I'm trying to clean to 'decorate' for the holidays. The quest continues. Back to work tomorrow.

DR Ron, you will really enjoy JOURNEYMAN, I think. I found it a sensational wrap-up to its two-parter. Nail biting tension through much of the show. This is one show I'm really going to miss when it goes away.

Some of my TV shows are preempted tonight, but I still have BONES (kiss-alert), HOUSE, and SVU. I have finally parted ways with NIP/TUCK and won't be watching any longer.

As for HEROES, yes, the Miya storyline was a bust from the get-go, and creator-producer-writer Tim Kring has said as much. I suspect we'll be seeing the last of her soon.

I disagree firmly about the character of Sylar. I find him dangerous and creepy even when he has little to do. He's a psychopath and just his presence for me adds a danger and a tension to a scene knowing that he's capable of any atrocity.

Oldest Book: 1865 Geography text book of the United States....
Rarest : A copy of the GAR collection of Anecdotes and Campfire songs and stories printed in 1878. My great grandfather got it as a gift as a child. Neat little book.
Treasured: Tough decision.... I have so many..

ONes I refuse to buy: Harlequin romances

Ones I can do without: Some of the popular fiction.

TOD: sentimentality wise, I have a wonderful signed first edition of The Silly Book by Stoo Hample, with a neat little drawing of Boodleheimer inside.

The Silly Book was my favorite book when I was about 4 or 5, and it continues to be a family favorite with my kids.

Unfortunately an autographed edition of Will There Really Be a Morning? continues to elude me. (That's a little joke for JR and me).

I can't read Harlequin romances, either, but I met two women in a screenwriting class some years ago who are both romance novelists. (They were attending the class to help with dialogue.) They weren't well-known, but were doing quite well with their books. Romance SELLS. I contacted the publisher they referred me to, but ugh!! I could NEVER write to those guidelines! Not even tongue-in-cheek!

I do want to read Little Pink Slips by Sally Koslow. She is a Fargo native who once worked for McCalls and she wrote a book based her experiences after Rosie bought the magazine. A fictional account.

It's waay too unreal for me! Everyone is gorgeous, strong, rich, etc.
Maybe my interest in quirky romances is a backlash against this Harlequin stuff.
