I'm glad you didn't get hurt, Jane.

Thanks.  I was leaning so far over I really didn't have far to go.  With Keith here to pull me up I didn't have to jam my bones into the hard floor to get up. :)

Nice photo DerBrucer.  Smart too, letting the grandlad only walk one dog.  Where was Fletcher?

Well, BK. I bet you feel like a heavy load was taken off your shoulders.

Listen, it's never easy to walk away from something you've invested a lot of time in, but yes, I do feel like a heavy load was lifted from my being.

And now I am LIGHT and I can flit and fly about like a faerie in search of a gazelle.

Looks like they are all having a nice walk, DerBrucer.

They were - while I was busy working up a case of heat exhaustion (Why did no one tell me I should drink fluids when doing yard work in 90 degree weather!)

Fletcher was inside where it was nice and cool.

Too bad I missed an earlier photo-op when Woody had Mickey and each GrandLad had a Blonde. All three of the dogs are real good a leash.

Good Evening!

Well... After playing through a bit of Wagner and Verdi (no Strauss this week as it turned out), I stepped back out into a somewhat less hot and less humid New York City.  Since I was down at 72nd Street, I decided to walk over to Central Park... Through Strawberry Fields... Through the Ramble... Past the Delacorte... Down the middle of the Great Lawn... Over to the Pinetum... Skirting the Reservoir... Across the North Woods... Then through the Harlem Meer to the northern edge of the Park... Then 35 more blocks home.

Whew! -But that's a good Whew!

I need a re-burst of energy.  I ate some coffee ice cream but it hasn't kicked in yet, probably will do so just as I'm ready to go to bed.

ME AND ORSON WELLES

Does anybody know why this well reviewed film has never been released onto DVD?

I remember there were problems with the original US theatrical release date. It got delayed a couple of times. Alas, I believe the DVD release date has also shifted a couple of times.  I think it was originally supposed to come out in April.

Good thing Keith was in nearby when I reached to far & toppled over.  I was trying not to have to stand up & walk around the chair I was oiling & sit back down on the floor.  I'm wearing socks & was on a hardwood floor.  I could feel myself slipping & realized I was going over.  I let out a little squeal to get Keith's attention & realized no way could he reach me in time.  I'm very pleased with myself, I managed not to spill a single drop of oil and I kind of tipped over.  I was already low to the ground so no residual damage was done.

If you were already low to the ground; then I assume you were standing upright!   ;D

LOL, it's a pinker pink than it looked on the card.  I should have known when it matched Martha Stewart's Ballet slipper pink.

Happy Memorial Day.   I've been listening to NPR radio today of soldiers stories and readings of their letters to home.

Nice to have 3 days off in a row for errands and chores.  Many did get done.  And a few naps too.

There are so many people here walking their dogs at 6 and 7 in the morning.  Really nice.

Well, I'm off to my sister's to put up more blinds...hopefully, it won't take too long.

Have a good day, all!

Well, it took until about an hour ago, including an hour break for dinner.  But it's all done...finally.

Dinner was, of course, spectacular - had all the usual dishes.  My helper's mom and sis were very sweet and we all had a grand time.

We used to have a couple of Pier One stores in my neck of the woods, but both are now just empty store fronts.
