Well, I thought I was going have tomorrow off, but instead I'll be playing some auditions for Mary Poppins for the day.  And it's also looking like I could be spending some time in the Banks' household for a good chunk of September too.  :)  We shall see.  It's all about schedules and conflicts.

Jennifer, children usually enjoy looking at foreign money.  Unless the value is excessive, I suggest saving it for your niece.

DR Jennifer - I'm not.

I really had not read any spoilers to know who was supposed to be more popular.  I figured lacey had to be popular (she'd never been in the bottom). And because of her brother.  I was actually really surprised that she went first.

I really wanted danny to win with sabra second.  And when it was the two of them left at the end, i really thought danny was going to win.  I know it's a popularity contest (and not who is the best dancer). But i had no idea sabra was that popular. I really was shocked.I thought she would finish 4th.

DR Jane speaking of my niece. She just started sleeping in a big bed this week (well a mattress on the floor).  And every night my sister finds her asleep in the middle of the floor.

I asked if she likes to play with her toys in the middle of the night and she said, "yeah!"

I would love to nanny cam her to see what she is actually doing.

Hmm.. I may have to head to Serendipity 3 to sample their new, limited-time only, Mary Poppins Sundae:

"The Supercalifragilisticexplialidocious Sundae." The mix of strawberry ice cream, cheese cake, fresh strawberries, whipped cream and caramel sauce (topped with a chocolate wafer chim-chimney and one pert black umbrella).[/i]

I'm not BK, but... For the most part, they potential Fred's and Joyce's have been offers - no proper audition involved.

DR Jane - here are the cheesecake flavors that made up my sampler:

Original
Dulce De Leche
Key Lime
Chocolate Tuxedo Cream
Chocolate Raspberry Truffle

There were 6 of us at the potluck and, of the 10 slices, I brought home:

1 Original
2 Dulce De Leche
1 Chocolate Tuxedo Cream

Richard has enjoyed the Original.

The book group ladies were quite pleased and used a lot of the whipped cream (in the center of the platter) in their coffee.

We watched part 2 of HBO's Elizabeth I, starring Helen Mirren, after having read Alison Weir's book, The Life of Elizabeth I.

The young woman who dressed Sherlock up as Sherlock Holmes has done it again.  This time she included her massive Bernese Mountain Dog.  He makes our big boy look very small. ;D

Jane, have you thought about Christmas cards/gift cards using one or more of these "photos"? They're really first-rate.

I'm hearing lots of thunder outside.  We may have wetness here in Rehoboth before too long.

Wetness for the Percipitation.  Didn't that star Marlene Dietrich and Charles Laughton?

Time for me to get to bed.  Tomorrow is going to be lengthy.

And our esteemed BK would never allow an improper audition.

Maybe that's working to his disadvantage.

I finally completed the last season of UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS, and what a great series! I just watched the last two episodes which were were quite emotional, and the overall series was a fantastic social history of London between 1900 and 1930.  Has there been any American tv series as complex and satisfying?

Larry, I really enjoyed THE DUCHESS OF DUKE STREET. I believe it was on Masterpiece Theatre in the early years. (I didn't discover it until later.) It may be partly my bias, as I simply eat up stories about women who succeed despite difficult challenges. I prefer the emphasis on a single character, rather than the diversity in Up/Down. It, too, has a strong historical context. I highly recommend it.

DR JENNIFER and other DRs:
This doesn't answer the questions posed, but I used to wonder what to do with foreign money left over from a trip. I've since realized that I do sometimes get back to those places (!) and bringing a bit of that country's cash is quite convenient--something to use until you can get to the bank or one of those currency-exchange booths. So now I keep it.

I like Jane's post, too, about letting kids play with it.

DR MattH, I saw today in one of the newspaper tv blurbs that the "big plot" on AS THE WORLD TURNS should really heat up tomorrow.

I have "season pass" so it records every day. I must say, it's great to be able to watch a whole episode for the sequences I want to see in about ten minutes.
