Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently looking reading their fortunes - You will soon come home.

Happy Friday! The bios for "The Brain From Planet X" are due today! I'm rewriting the one I used for "Romeo & Juliet" last year, but I want to add a little bit. :)
-
Just finished a big monster of a return. (no, not "The Return of Godzilla")
Hoping Monday and Tuesday will be catching-breath days, relatively easy days (comparatively) since they're holy days on the Jewish calendar (last two days of Passover), so we know the Orthodox Jewish clients will not be calling.
-
Morning all.
I will be on Long Island this weekend and Larry is in DC.
That is all.
-
And I'm still here.....an Yvonne DeCarlo reference.

Don't we get a Kritzerland release announcement here tonight?
Sounds like the rehearsal for the LONG musical is going along nicely....and what fun everyone must be having. I hope everyone has a PENCIL with them and writes everything down!!!

Good morning!
It nearly got up to 90 yesterday and today and tomorrow will be the same. 90 in early April? What does this mean for this summer? Yikes!
-
No new review material has arrived yet (though it's still relatively early so something might come later). If not, I'll have a day off from work today. For some reason, I really love having Fridays off.
-
How wonderful that we get new episodes of MEDIUM and GHOST WHISPERER tonight. MEDIUM is the first of a two-part episode. That doesn't make me thrilled, but I'm so glad to have it back that I'll take whatever they give me without complaint.

Speaking of Tivo, I might be upgrading to the new Tivo Premier soon. It not only records HD channels, but also allows access to downloadable media from Amazon, Netflix and YouTube. Also, I got an e-mail offer to get the lifetime Tivo service at 50% off, along with a sale price on the unit itself. The only dealbreaker might be Comcast--I think I had read last year that the company was going to stop supplying cable cards to its customers and this particular Tivo relies on a cable card. Once I find out about this for sure, I think I will pull the trigger on this purchase...
-
Yes, I read a brief little snatch on-line about PROJECT RUNWAY, and it does sound like a VERY surprising episode. I'll likely get to it at some point today, especially if I have the day off.

Made it through about 3/4 of the Warner Archive THE THIRD DAY. I think I must have seen this on tv when I was a kid, because I somehow remember Arte Johnson's creepy lounge pianist (is there any other kind, LOL?). All I can say about Percy Faith's music is: wow! What a great score, so full of unusual colors (don't think I've ever heard a bassoon used in a mystery-thriller score the way he does, and the string effects are incredible). In fact, BK, if you could find stems for this and Faith's Universal release I'D RATHER BE RICH, I think it would make a great two-fer, and I have Faith connections where you could reach a bevy of fans who would snatch this up in a sconce. (Is that right?).
And BTW since BK did not answer my trivia question yesterday (at least that I saw), I'D RATHER BE RICH features a title song by Maltby/Shire (must have been one of their first), arranged and orchestrated by Maestro Faith, who did the underscore.

And now... I think I'm going to take a walk to Duane Reade... Then head back here to take a(nother) nap. or something resembling a nap.

Friday afternoon greetings! We slept until almost 10am today, late for Richard and unheard of for me. I think the combination of sinus infection, big family dinner, and Easter weekend prep finally got the best of me. We're having a quiet day here in Lima today. Rob and Mary Linda will arrive in time for this evening's service and stay with us the rest of the weekend.

In this morning's e-mail, a post that has been making the rounds. Presumably, it's from an adult woman:
One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.
I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as
a gift and it was one of my favorite toys.
Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I
brought him a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several
cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.
My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of
tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!' My Mom waited, and sure
enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she
watched him drink it up.
Then she said, (as only a mother would know.. :)
'Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach water is the toilet?

We have found that by keeping a covered gallon plastic vat of water next to the toilet, Fletcher will choose that. (He is adept at lifting lids on either.) He was happy to find that his midnight kitchen cruise uncovered some brocolli stalks for his snack.

Well, no UPS delivery, but that didn't stop the review copies from coming in. First, FedEx stopped by with PERRY MASON, Season 5, Volume 1 which I opened and decided I would work on this weekend (even though it doesn't come out until the 20th). Then, the USPS mailman brought two review DVDs from Criterion - RIDE WITH THE DEVIL on DVD (the Blu-ray came two or three days ago) and THE FUGITIVE KIND which I haven't seen in many years. That will be a fun revisit.

Oh, dear. I'm so sorry to read this. He gave me many hours of pleasure throughout his career.

Next I cooked lunch when I got in from my errands and watched THE MENTALIST while I ate lunch. I like the new commander, and I like that she's not going to be giving Patrick grief all the time. That got real old when Terry Kinney was on the show (even though he wasn't the commander).
I solved the mystery pretty easily. The writers tipped their hand very early, and all the red herring suspects they threw down didn't do much to misdirect me.
-
Next, I began watching PERRY MASON. All the regulars are back for the fifth season (William Talman was absent for many of the 4th season episodes). There's the new opening credit sequence with this season.
I was able to get three episodes watched this afternoon.
-
Among the guest stars in the three episodes I watched were Denver Pyle, Parley Baer, Ben Cooper, Cheerio Meredith, the gorgeous James Drury, Constance Towers (who sang three songs during the episode), and bk favorite Leslie Parrish.
-
There are 15 episodes in the four disc set, and I hope to get at least three more watched this eveving before I pick up GHOST WHISPERER around 8:30 or so.
-
Then I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Reid was on (no Luke), but neither of them were in the previews for next week. They made sure in the previews that they featured the return of Julianne Moore in her old role returning for her parents' 25th anniversary.
-
I skimmed through today's ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Nothing of interest.
-
I wish we'd get some rain. It's been overcast for several days now and I've just put the tomatoes and peppers out, planted some rosemary and got a few other things in the ground. So, send the rain this way.

Hello, everyone! I finished up my work around 11:15 this morning and got to Union Station around noon. I exchanged my ticket for one on the 1:05 train and got into New York four hours earlier than planned. I am very happy.
While at the LoC, I heard lots of dish about the proceedings of LIFE BEGINS AT 8:40, including further stories about the librarian in charge of the project who certainly exaggerated her claim on who did what, how much the director and musical director - the one whose firing I pushed until I decided to resign - were loathed for arrogance and, as I predicted about the MD, not being prepared. Well, what do you expect when your musical director hasn't looked at his orchestra scores between September 1 and the middle of March? I saw a copy of the program; hated what they wrote about me and would have preferred to be omitted. Everyone loved the cast.
The dish was good. The research was great. I am back. I am happy.

Good morning!
It nearly got up to 90 yesterday and today and tomorrow will be the same. 90 in early April? What does this mean for this summer? Yikes!
I didn't check yet what the high here was today. But it was very hot. It must have been close to 80. I went for a bike ride when i got home at 6pm. And it was still so amazing out. I was wearing a sleeveless tanktop. I love this weather! Although it was a bit hot this afternoon. I didn't realize it would be so sunny and i had to chase my niece around the block like 10 times while she rode her bike.

I haven't decided if i like the new commander yet. She might be acting nice towards Jane. But she is sort of mean towards Lisbon (who i really like). I guess we'll have to see the dynamics in the weeks to come.

I am also looking forward to tonight's GHOST WHISPERER and MEDIUM.

Last night's FLASHFORWARD proved interesting, but, someone is turning into a whining, unlikeable character; I hope this trend does not continue.
BLU-RAY:
THE LAST WALTZ - the sound is awesome, the picture, which was never a great looking piece of film, looks very good.
AN AMERICAN IN PARIS - I do like this film, with the exception two back to back musical numbers which, in my humble opinion, add nothing to the plot.
LOST: SEASON 4 - the year of 'the freighter people.'

I just read a report from the German Institute of Nutrition, saying that those patients who ate MORE chocolate had far less incidence of hypertension and heart disease than those who ate less. The difference in quantity is equivalent to a 100 gram chocolate bar.
I've read reports before about dark chocolate being good for you, but there was no distinction made in the report between dark chocolate and milk chocolate. As a milk chocolate lover, it was good to hear.
I just thought that DRs at HHW should hear about this!
-
DW Betsy clearly needs more chocolate.

We're all in for the night after Fr. Richard's first Good Friday services - Evening Prayer and Stations of the Cross. Rob and Mary Linda arrived in time for church, then we had a bite to eat, and are now safely tucked into the boys' room and girls' room, adjacent but not connecting. This Fairfield Inn has no connecting rooms, which I think is weird.

DR Jeanne - I used to tell my son, "Chocolate cures everything," and it turns out I was right!

LOL Ginny. I used to tell Bryan to stop buying me chocolate cuz it made me very grumpy. Luckily it doesn't do that anymore, but then that could be I eat less of it.

Such a mammoth part and with lots of stage business. Would your health allow you to undertake such a strenuous part? If so, break some legs!

I watched four more episodes of PERRY MASON tonight (making a total of 7 for the day). Can't watch as many of these older hour shows since they run about 10 minutes longer than the hour shows of today run.
-
We're all in for the night after Fr. Richard's first Good Friday services - Evening Prayer and Stations of the Cross.
Were you both pleased with Fr Richard's first Good Friday services? Was he nervous?
Yes, DR Jane, he's been pretty uptight all week, but seemed more nervous last night than tonight. They both went fine and now he'll never have to do them for the first time again.
-
The guest stars in the batch I watched tonight included Tommy Noonan, Victor Sen Yung, Roy Roberts, Jackie Coogan, Sue Ann Langdon, Gloria Talbot, Eleanor Parker, Kent Taylor, Paul Smith, Frank Cady (playing twins), and Virginia Gregg.
-
Then I watched tonight's GHOST WHISPERER. Pretty intriguing approach to a haunting, and I was interested throughout.
-
MEDIUM was just great! Scary visions/crime scenes and really unusual that the girl could do to Allison and the girls what she did. And Joe's story is also involving.
I sure do love this show. I hope it gets another season. Now, most sites are calling it a "bubble" show even though there have been many weeks when it was CBS' top rated show on Friday night, and it has almost always won the timeslot.
-
Betsy is home and is fast asleep. For some unknown reason, her parents decided to halve the doctor's prescription for pain pills when they picked them up at the pharmacy. I just don't get them sometimes, frankly.

Back from Good Friday services and pleasantly surprised by the turnout. now to finish off a little work before an early bed. Sunday I'm trying something I've never done before: goose. Bought one at Christmas and stuck in the freezer. It's time. Going to stuff it with rinsed sauerkraut, bacon, apple and onion while roasting it.
Great weekend to all.

Time for bed.
Long busy day today at the World of Wisdom - which is a good thing.
Lots of commissions, which is a good thing - since I got the expected 2008 Tax Notice.....I used a particular online tax software for my 2007 and 2008 returns. The day after I sent in my 2008 return, I got an IRS notice that I owed about $467 more for 2007...and a similar notice came from the state.
Of course - since I had used the SAME software for the just mailed 2008 returns, I expected to get another notice - and it came today.....Federal....I am sure to followed by state.
I found a new and much more accurate software for 2009, so I do not expect any surprises this time next year....
-
That happened to us last year, JRand.

Home from a very long rehearsal. I finished the scenes that needed finishing and began assembling the show, which went much smoother than it had any right to. We got through all of act one, and will continue on to act two tomorrow. After we finish act two, rather than doing a run-through, we're going to run scenes, especially the big ones, and some of the scenes that need some acting work. And others can work on songs, some of which are way too ragged.

Good Evening!
Well... I ended up joining some friends earlier tonight at Caroline's Comedy Club to "experience" Pam Ann (https://www.carolines.com/#/page/play-video/198/223/pam-ann-secrets-of-the-black-box/). Who knew the airlines could provide so much comedic material? ::) -Truly one of the funniest live comedy shows I've ever laughed my way through.

*If you're wary about flying, you should probably not watch this video. ::)

Is this the Patrick Levis we are talking about?
Yes!
Wow! He's all grown up now! And I still can't believe he's married now either.
I still remember him singing "Where Is Love?" in class... 15 years ago!

OK...
And...
Goodnight.

Nathan Lane is on The David Letterman Show right now. Nathan is so funny! He could be a stand-up comic!
