Oh... And Virgin is having a nice sale on selected Criterion titles.  Just sayin'...  -And when you happen to have a $5.00-off-your-purchase coupon or two... Again, just sayin'... :)

DR edisaurus - Sounds like you had another splendid evening with Mr. Ivory and friends.  I'm just sorry the auction was set-up badly.

BK - Thought I'd share this list that summarizes the NYMF jury awards for 2007.  15 of the 16 awards were won by Next Link shows, and the only one (choreography) won by an Invited Work was won by PLATFORMS - a 3-performance dance piece which was all about the choreography.

(Note that all the individual performance awards were won by Next Link shows; no one in the Invited Works was deemed worthy of an individual acting award).  I'm only presenting facts, drawing no conclusions about the status of Invited Works in these awards.

NEXT LINK MUSICALS
Austentatious – 1 award
Back Home – I honorable mention
Boy in the Bathroom – 4 awards, 2 honorable mentions
Gemini – 1 award
Going Down Swingin’ – 1 award
Love Sucks – 1 honorable mention
Mud Donahue & Sons – 1 award, 1 honorable mention
Petite Rouge – 1 honorable mention
Sherlock Holmes – 1 award, 2 honorable mentions
Such Good Friends – 3 awards
Sympathy Jones – 1 award
Tully – 1 honorable mention
Yellow Wood – 2 awards, 1 honorable mention

INVITED WORKS
Beastly Bombing – 1 honorable mention
Good Fight – 1 honorable mention
Piper – 1 honorable mention
Platforms – 1 award (a well-regarded special event dance show, clearly had to win for choreography)
Unlock’d – 3 honorable mentions

Another burning issue of the day - a moral quandary!

I wonder if this will be addressed in today's Republican Presidential debate?

der Brucer

But - if you wash them inside out, do you make sure you put them in the hamper that way? (Or on laundry day do you fuss around under the bed looking for matching socks.)

The reason I asked is because I just bought a couple more pairs of socks, and the washing instructions say it's best to wash them inside-out.  And I don't even think I've ever come laundering instructions for socks.  I mean, it does makes sense that since the inside of the sock has contact with your foot, your skin, then that would be a good reason to wash them inside-out.  However, what about the dirt that builds up on the outside of the sock.  If they sock is turned inside-out, then how does the outside get properly cleaned?

It's a puzzlement.

Back from a little drive, hoping the airing out will make watching a movie in the den a little less nauseating.

The TV I just made room for needs to be hooked up to cable, so DH Richard is going to call Time Warner tomorrow.  We've been pretty pleased with our TV and Internet service so far - hope he has a better experience with TW than DR Edi has had with Comcast!

I've had few problems with Time Warner for tv and computer.

My DH says that if you turn your Thorlo socks inside out before washing them, they will last longer.

My theory is that you will reach for the socks that aren't inside out first, instead of the Thorlo, and that's why they last longer.

I always wash my socks rightisde out, since they pick up so much cat fur. Same with the clothes!

I've been so busy all day today - possibly to keep my mind off of NOT BEING IN NYC - four loads of laundry, two cooked meals, etc, that following my 7:45pm shower, Dixie Bell insisted that I roll around on the floor with her and her toys!  (I would've taken her for a third walk, but, you know what they say about walking about at night with wet hair). . .

Good Evening!

Well, I'm back after spending the day a few hours a couple of minutes with my parents and their friends.  So...

When I left the apartment this morning, I called my Dad on his cell.  They had literally just pulled into Port Authority, and were getting off their Greyhound bus.  I asked why he didn't call me earlier, and he said he thought I wasn't going to be able to join them today.  I have no idea where he got that idea, trust me on that one.

Well, I think I just left my last Mary Poppins rehearsal.  The put-in went very well, and Alexandra did a great job.  She goes on for real tomorrow afternoon, and I'll probably stand in the back of the house and watch her first show.  *And then my parents will be in the audience Sunday afternoon for her second show.  -Meanwhile, I think I'll be over at Carnegie Hall listening to Beethoven piano sonatas played by Andras Schiff.

Hmm, perhaps Jose's folks do read Haines His Way!

I had heard that the gay couple was starting today, but all you see in the ads is that everyone on Wisteria Lane gets crabs.  Yuck!
Crabs are tasty with some Old Bay Seasonings...

...Huh?...

...Oh, you mean...

Never mind.

Thanks for the info.

I am watching a really really good show on CBC (canadian television). It's called Triple Sensation (the search for a musical theatre triple threat). The judges are cynthia dale (canadian actress), the choreographer from JERSEY BOYS, Garth Drabinsky, some Shakesperian English director, and Marvin Hamlisch.

There were only 3 episodes but tonight is the finale. They chose 2 males and 2 females from 3 final cities.  Those 12 went to a master class. And now the final 6 are being chosen by the panel (i think the winner (scolarship) must also be tonight).
