According to THIS website:

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to revert the Daylight Saving Time back to the 2005 time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.

I don't see how they think this is going to impact anything, so I use more electricity and turn the furnace up earlier in the morning.   I thought the original intent was to give farmers more daylight later in the day to do work outside.  I think this is just a gesture that really has no impact

Thanks for the recommendation of MY BROTHER NIKHIL. I'll look for a copy and settle in with a good curry.

DR CILLA LIZ - remember Gracie Allen's pork roast recipe:

Buy one small roast of pork.
Buy one large roast of pork.

Put both in the oven at 400 degrees.  When the small roast is burned, the large roast is done.

I asked my friend who saw "Urinetown" in LA in previews about Matt:

Are you talking about
Matthew Ashford? He was fantastic. That role
is crucial to the show, you know, and he really was
very, very good. He's a terrific singer, and funny
(but evil).

Go, Matt!

I've changed rooms - I almost was going to stay put (the new room is about four inches bigger, but doesn't have a stall shower - just the usual bath shower), but the other room had a persistent "hum" coming from somewhere and I knew that I wouldn't be able to sleep with it.  So, I'm on the fifth floor instead of the sevent - the hotel only has seven floors.

Shortly I shall be on my way to Fred and Skip's.  I'm trying to figure out the air conditioning in the room - when it's on it's way too cold for me, even if you put the thermostat to seventy-six.  So, I think I'll do without because the air will kill my voice.

I'm going to look for some shoes whilst walking over to 43rd.

Yo, all the gang in NYC!!! Have a great time... I covet your There-ness!!!

Tomorrow is a full school day! Three lower-division make-up classes in Oral Communication, Critical Thinking and Biology -- plus an upper division class in my major - MUSIC - called Song Literature: French. As a recitalist, a hundred years ago, I specialized in French Impressionist song lit!!! I'll just sing through all my favorite repertory, and that's the class!!! How thrilling this will be, to get my chops back in form... Ah, the old days!! I did love my four years at Juilliard, have thought of them so fondly through the years... and now, I get to be back in a music department, among the young hopefuls. Really bittersweet and resonant... I look behind me and see their future.

DR EDISAURUS has a connection to Joanne Woodward.

Humph...well....she and Beverly Garland certainly have something in common.

I just read HERE on Playbill.com that Patrick Quinn has died from a heart attack.  He was only 55 years old.  He was on the first cast recording of Lucky $tiff by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty that was produced by BK. :(

Yes, a friend e-mailed me earlier today about Patrick Quinn. It's shocking and very, very sad! He was just appointed as the new executive director of Actor's Equity. He was to replace Alan Eisenberg who retired after over 20 years of service. What sad news. Patrick was a great person as well as a dedicated Union member.

The promo just had the coal miner and his wife on it. She said "We've never been around gay people before, you know what? I LIKE THEM!"  She cracks me up.

Yes, he is avery good. Too bad days does not recognize what a talent he is.

Here is a clip from when Matt played a serial killer on One Life to Live.

He has cornered Rae Cummings who figured out who the MBK was and it is STephen Haver.. He is now tormenting her and they sing "WE Shall Overcome"

On a brighter note, we had a loverly afternoon with Tom and Colin, our cousins from Down Under. We met at their hotel and chatted in the lobby for a while. It was Tom, Colin, Rodzinski, Jose, Anthony and me. We then ambled over to Ninth Avenue and 46th Street to the Galaxy Diner. It was crowded but a table for six was arranged and we had a lovely brunch. We lingered for quite a while and talked and laughed and, I'm sure, we made many ears burn.

What a wonderful, delightful couple are Tom and Colin. We eased Colin's worry that meeting people you only know from the Internet doesn't always result in death and dismemberment.

We also spent some time in Virgin Records on Broadway and 46th Street. Tom kindly purchased a DVD and gave it to us (Ben and Anthony) as a present. The movie is Sordid Lives. We look forward to watching it.

Even though it's only 8pm we are settling in for the night and will probably go to bed soon. It's been a full and very good day. We are so glad we finally met our friends from Oz. Now it's our turn to go :-)

Matt had some great one-liners during the days of Classic Days. There were some downright interesting sexual innuendos also. Him and Missy Reeves were a great pair.  Classic days is anything between 1980 nad June 1991.

In honor of Epi's lurid theme, I shall be recording:

which will be shown in HDTV on our cable channel.

IMDB reports:

Quote
So we have the first hour, filled with Tarantino-stuff in its dialogue and references, and then the party arrives at a bar called the Titty Twister. Not long after they are inside it is revealed that every crew member from the bar is actually a vampire, feeding themselves on bikers and truckers that visit the place.

I mean - who can resist the Titty Twister bar!
