-Yes, that Chik-Fil-A's are closed on Sundays.  Which is always sort of weird when you go to a mall food court only to discover that the Chik-Fil-A is closed (on a Sunday).

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And it's raining in NYC.  But it seems like a gentle, soaking rain, so it actually sounds kind of nice.  Of course, I have to head out in it in a few, so, we'll see if my opinion of the sound changes once I'm under my umbrella.

Oh, and I do like me some Chik-Fil-A!  The grilled chicken is good, but the original fried filet sandwich is still the best - and I even like the single pickle slice they put on it.  -Oh, and the waffle fries too. :)

Now I'm craving Chik-Fil-A's spicy chicken sandwich.

But I guess I can pine away, 'cause the nearest Chik-Fil-A is half way across town.

bk - Definitely sounds like acid reflux to me.  Since you seem to be having recurring bouts of heart burn/acid reflux, I think you might want to see a doctor just to make sure everything is OK.  Or at least consult with a pharmacist - maybe a course of Zantac is what you need right now.  *And even though the meal you had yesterday sounded very yummilicious, it also sounded quite acid-producing-inducing.  And the "stress" of getting Joan's concert up and going probably didn't help matters either.

But, again, I'm not a doctor.  I just play one on TV.

I, too, concur with the acid reflux. I rarely have it myself, but a couple enzyme supplements will take care of it. You may be eating too many acid foods: meat, fish, and sugar are all acid. Alkaline foods are fruit and veg.

Of course, I know you will probably skip this post. :)

Page Four New Chick-Fil-A ad campaign dance:

Oh, you can kiss eat me on a Monday, a Monday,
A Monday is very very good.
Or you can kiss eat me on a Tuesday, a Tuesday
A Tuesday, in fact I wish you would.
Or you can kiss eat me on a Wednesday, a Thursday,
A Friday and Saturday is best.
But never, never on a Sunday, a Sunday,
A Sunday, 'cos that's my day of rest.

Do you think they'd go for it?

DR Dan (the Man) - I was thinking something along the lines of...

(to the tune of Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools")

Crave, crave, crave...
(crave, crave, crave)
Chik-Fil-A...

Perhaps, DR DtM!

They certainly can't use ALW's Tell Eat Me on a Sunday!

And then Aretha can segue into:

What you want!
Baby, I got it!
What you need!
Do you know that I got it!

C-H-I-C-K-E-N!
Got to have it now and then
C-H-I-C-K-E-N!
Juicy meat from a big fat hen!

DR EDI - I am not sure about the author of THE CASE OF THE DANCING SANDWICHES, but he may be prominent in some other area because the paperback version of said tome goes for $99.50 on Amazon (almost as much as a share of the Brain).

I had looked it up..it is the same writer. I've never read any of his books but I like the short stories I've read in sci-fi anthologies.

Didja know that all Chick-Fil-A's are closed on Sundays so that the employees can go to church?

They originated in Atlanta, and my father-in-law was one of their first employees, when Truett Cathy owned The Dwarf House. They seem to treat their employees very well.

My DH does a lot of work for them. It's nice that they are off on Sundays---then the pagans crew can shoot in the stores.

Whenever he gets paid from them, we call it a "Check-Fil-A".

I wonder if Chick-Fil-A is privately owned?  I'm thinking it would be hard to find investors that would approve of a business plan that excludes half the potential revenue from every weekend.

Singdaw, I check the financial news daily and I've never heard of Chick-Fil-A. It could be owned by one of the conglomerates, but my guess is that it IS privately-owned.

Not for us--we saw The Illusionist first, but liked The Prestige better.  DS Betsy had to point out to me how the first few seconds of The Prestige pretty much "give everything away," though you have to see the whole movie to figure that out.  I saw the "twist" of The Illusionist coming a mile (possibly two) away.  :)

Well, I didn't make it to Chik-Fil-A, but I did get a very tasty grilled chicken sandwich from one of my favorite street vendor carts.
