I hope he still enjoys working there.

Actually, he does;  and because it is such a small town, he is often greeted on the street by loyal customers.

I'm wondering if my mother hasn't really died but instead has moved to New york and is working at Artie's. Today's potato salad, which is usually wonderful, was terrible, It was like eating raw sliced potato covered in mayonnaise.

I vaguely recall someone named der Brucer as having posted here.  Welcome back.  Perhaps someday even S. Woody White will make a return.

There's an announcement on page three, for those who may have missed it.

I shall shortly be on my way to Orange County, Downey to be specific.

When did they move Downey from LA to Orange County?

DR JRand59, our friend the naked Hercules is just finishing up a run of the 18th Century ballad opera FLORA at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston. It's directed and designed by the director of the Hercules opera, but everyone's clothed.

Shallow person that I am, this does not interest me.

Listened to BOY AND THE PIRATES cd today...loved it! Probably one of Albert Glasser's better musical moments...next to ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE, of course.

Vibes that those tornadoes stay far away from you, and your Allison Hayes collection!

Went to the housewarming party. Of course I did not know a soul there. I must be the only neighbor who got an invite.

Only stayed a short while. I toured the house...a grand, huge 1920s home, 4 stories in all, counting the large attic. The new owners did some nice work to the place. While I toured, Bosco entertained the people who were outside. Actually, he just sat there and they admired him and asked me questions about him once I came back outside.

Everyone seemed very nice, but I was exhausted and just wanted to flop in from of the TV and watch old movies and or some Bollywood...or both. So that is what I shall now do for as long as my eyes will stay opened.

I think that's the system we had, it's been very slow moving

Thanks DR MBARNUM.....just heavy rain night with lightning.

Who else would they invite except the neighbors?  Were refreshments served?

I made parsnips for the first time today.  I got them at the farmers market.  I peeled it, sliced in thin slices and cooked them in butter with salt and pepper.  They were really good!!

I've had a great afternoon and evening with Callie and Boo.  They work in shifts.  Callie is awake during the day and hangs out with me while Boo sleeps. Then Boo hangs out with me while Callie sleeps in the evening.  Of course for the few hours when I'm in my chair and the windows are open, they are both awake and sitting in the windows

Foodstuffs were being prepared and drinks were served. I think most of the parygoers were relatives and co-workers.

I gave the mistress of the house a bouquet of lillies from my garden and wished the master a happy 40th birthday.

I spent the day working in the yard we have an area that used to be a vegetable garden but due to my inabilty to get home at a ecint hour it was sorely neglected and turned into a wilderness... half of teh garden is now raked and vine and stone free.. the other helf must be tackled tomorrow  when I get it all cleared out  I will seed it  and turn it into lawn
