I hate McAfee software, when it's scanning the computer, everything you do moves at less than a snail's pace.    Time to get off the computer, this stupid thing will scan for an hour.

Today it is going to reach 80 degrees.  And I am getting ready to head out the theater and sit thru three hours of MAJOR BARBARA!  I can hardly contain myself!

And found out some very interesting things about the label that shall not be named and the particular person who ran it after I left - and ran it into the toilet - one of the real villains in the piece - apparently karma has taken care of him big time.

Speaking of Promises, Promises, my review was just run on Showtime on Radio Wales. Those of you on the e-mail list will get the notice later after it goes up on the iPlayer and I figure out exactly where in the show it falls.

Well, sure glad to see I can still find you.

The electric company decided to swap out our meter (a digital upgrade), and in spite of numerous other survivals of power outages, the computer power supply went kaflooie, kerflop, kerpkunk, THUD! (At least I assume it was the power supply - it doesn't even turn on!) Repair estimates ranged up to a week, depending on part availability - since we both live and die by the internet, even a few days delay were unacceptable- (I mean - miss Tony's at HHW - NEVER!)

I didn't want a new unit because the cost of upgrading all my old software would be brutal; fortunately I found this puppy (a used, reconditioned, DELL Latitude laptop for $250) which should suffice for now. It has some open-source freebie software package called OPEN OFFICE which let's me open and maintain all the old Excel, Word, and Access Database files we had (I had been regularly copying important files to a flash drive, and they restored nicely; I had even made a back-up copy of our AOL Favorites files that I was able to import into the AOL software (I had saved one of those freebie intro disks I had received in the mail when we moved, and that was good enough to get us up and running.)  And there went the bucks we were setting aside to replace the Livinf Room HDTV, which is on it's last legs (it is a 52" rear projection monster that's losing both it's contrast and color registration (we have green ghosts around everything!)

Of course it will take forever to ketchup!

DR JRand59, our friend the naked Hercules is just finishing up a run of the 18th Century ballad opera FLORA at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston. It's directed and designed by the director of the Hercules opera, but everyone's clothed.

Nice day today! All sunny and warm! I like it!

Mowed my lawn.

Shopped at the huge used book store in West Salem.

Looked around Teen Challenge Thrit Shop and St Vincent De Paul Thrift Store

Came back home and cleaned up dog barf.

Watched I'M COMING OUT on some new cable station I now get called CURRENT

Caught up on today's postings, and laughed at Elmore and TCB's.

Now I am trying to stay awake, when all I really want to do is take a nap...however, the new neighbors are having a house warming at 4pm (it is now 3:39pm) and I have been invited.

You can take control of your destiny by scheduling your scan's for bed-time hours. (and you can cancel a scan in progress with no ill effects).

Well, so do I - see, this is the price I pay for leaving the house to do cardiac rehab!

In honor of our continuing poverty, Woody is putting in an unscheduled eight hour day today - that makes 44.5 hours this week.
