I finally did get a shipping notice on HOT FUZZ and SHAUN OF THE DEAD yesterday, so I should have them for the weekend. Looking forward to watching them, especially the former.

DR Julie ~ What color goddess-toga do you want?  Sorry, no more puce-colored ones -- DR Naomi took the last one....

Miss Karen - I don't know about color, but I've always felt that one can't go wrong with lots of sparkles.  (I guess that explains a lot.   ;) )

And the word of the day is: TURBID!
If you want your TUB RID of the TURBID water, all you have to do is pull the drain plug.

So I was very remiss in not reporting back about the wonderful dinner that SR FJL and Skip made the other night.  It was delicious.  Fried chicken, ribs, potato and tri-color bell pepper salad, and apple pie.  All of it fabulous.  And terrific company - BK and Milla.  A wonderful evening.

DR elmore - you were very missed.  I was so looking forward to seeing you there.

Wednesday morning greetings!  My day started with an executive committee meeting at Panera, where I enjoyed good company, productive conversation, coffee, and a bear claw.  Got my lunch "to go" from there, so now I'm in the AC until 5pm.  It's as hot today as yesterday, but not as humid, I think.

Names always help shows, but I won't do it just to do it.  My casting guy has asked me about several big names, and I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole or a five foot Czech because they would not serve the show well.  It took me a few days to wrap my mind around the actress we've been waiting on, but I finally did because I realized she'd serve the show well as an actress and singer - the name is a bonus.  Obviously I felt no compunction to replace Cason or Alet with names, and believe me, for those two parts I could probably have gotten anyone I wanted, especially given the number of people I've worked with.  Same with Benjamin Clark - but I'm loyal to those who deliver and there wasn't a question about them coming with the show.

Besides, you couldn't get performers like Cason, Alet, and Benjamin...I can't imagine those roles being played by anyone else..at least not as well.

Oooww. Looks like MISS KAREN will be busy with her needle and thread. (MISS KAREN is the unofficial HHW wardrobe mistress, but I'm sure you already knew that, JULIE.)

Someone asked about beavertails as a snack.  I'm not sure if this is a regional thing, but it is some type of pastry (in a long oval shape) that is fried and you put cinnamon or chocolate on it.

Oh, boy! Next week comes the next box set of Charlie Chan movies from Fox. This will complete all of the Warner Oland/Chan films they have.

Then, we get to move on into the Sidney Toler/Fox era. Hooray!

DR BEN, if you cannot locate a copy of REBECCA on dvd, you can always go over to Jackson Heights and pick up the Bollywood version of Hitchcock's film titled KOHRAA for only $5.

I'll keep that in mind Michael. Perhaps the colorful musical interludes will help Anthony get over his disappointment.  :D

That was some awful rain storm we got early this morning.  So noisy - even with the windows closed and A/C on.  Looks like it did a lot of damage in Brooklyn.

DR Ben - what is the tea shop near Gramercy Park that you went to for dessert?  I live in that area and I'm always interested in new places to check out.

DRs Ben and Noel - thank you both for your comments on 71 Irving Place.  It's now on my list of places to take DH Richard in late Sept/early Oct.

DR Julie - would you care to join us?
