Seems like a nice day outside, although I wouldn't really know since I'm still inside.

Back from the NYPL! Houston, The Lady of the Slipper may have a problem. I need to investigate further before I can accuse the Fat Conductor of Limited Talent of one more fraud, but so far all I'm seeing is a fraud in the Act Three title song.  More to follow.  Is Fatty a Fraud?

First, lunch.

DR Nursie, what's $980 in the scheme of the cosmos? :D

Actually, the NYPL Theatre Collection has the poster, but I'm surprised it's never been duplicated at for sale in the past 105 years.

the Fat Conductor of Limited Talent

You mean, he's fraud where a fraud should be fraud?   ;)

An example of an Evening Primrose comment from one of the theater boards:

ETA: I just finished my first hearing of this, and I love it. The sound quality is so beautiful, and "Take Me to the World" is a gem. Thanks, bk.

I cannot speak, of course, of his Grammy winning discs since I was never much involved with those, but he perpetrated several frauds on this current project.

And this, from CASTRECL:

... am surprised by how clean and
full-bodied the recording [sounds]--not my memory of 60s videotape sound at all.

What a gorgeous day. I sat outside waiting for the lunch ride to pick me up, and it was so beautiful. Not too hot, not too breezy. Oh, if all year could be like this!

When I got in, I watched HOW SHE MOVE. The drama is nothing, very phony and arbitrary. But the reason for the film is the step dancing routines, and they are impressive. If only we didn't have to suffer through that semblance of a story.

Next, I watched the featurettes on the disc. There are three of them. The first had the 9 main young actors introducing themselves and telling a bit about their characters. I enjoyed hearing them improvising characterizations based on the one-note ciphers they had to act in the movie.

Next, the choreographer did a feature on how she came up with the steps - a combination of step dancing, break dancing, hip-hop, and locking. The director also weighed in on how he approached filming the scenes.

The actor/dancers had a five week, 7 hours a day routine for rehearsals, and it certainly showed in the really impressive routines they performed for the camera.

The third feature was the "screenwriter" discussing her story idea for the film. Thankfully, this was just 10 minutes, so she didn't have to talk too much about a story that's basically the length of one good complex sentence.

And then I watched the theatrical trailer and the preview trailers on the disc.

Can you believe it? It took me 5 days to do the INDY JONES set. It took me only an afternoon to do this entire DVD.

I even had time to start another PSYCH episode, but I only got the pre-credit sequence watched. From the little bit I saw, I don't even remember what the case was about yet. (The episode is the one when Shawn hired a Swedish model to be his receptionist at Psych.)

MR BK, I am sorry I was not around earlier to comment.  I am from Mooresville which does not know from models.

However - if said author is looking for a small town where someone might do such a thing, Franklin, Indiana, (the county seat of Johnson County) is indeed a fine choice.

The Heritage Quest site is NOW operational through my library site.  I emailed the Library Head to thank her, and she answered saying she was just looking for email to let me know....

Yes, it's Bring Your Children to Work Day here in Oakland, too.

I've seen children outside during lunch...but I haven't seen any in the building.  I know they're here somewhere.  I ain't lookin' for 'em, though.

The day is moving along nicely enough now.

I'm a bit tight across my upper back and base of my skull....lots of stress in the a.m.

Those muscles tighten up no matter how sternly I lecture them against it.
