I hate being in Cinemascope! I'm back from the recital which was wonderful; it had some beautiful music and some humor at the end which was wonderful after Berio's rather pretentious Circles. It was an awesome piece filled with ridiculous percussion noises - two players employing everything but the kitchen sink - and interesting harp sounds, but the colors were amazing and I loved it. The harp, 2 percussionists and Carin closed the evening with an hilarious arangement of Mozart's glorious "Voi che sapete." It was nice to meet more of the wonderful Gilfry family and Carin looked gorgeous tonight, absolutely beautiful. She leaves NYC in two weeks to become a young artist with the Santa Fe Opera. Next October she and her father play Liesl and the Baron von Trapp, with Kim Criswell as the Mother Abbess, in THE SOUND OF MUSIC at the Theatre du Chatelet. I'm thinking about making the trip just to see it!

DR elmore - Congrats to Carin for getting into the Young Artists Program at Santa Fe.

-And there are some great deals on airfares to France right now. Just be sure to check all the airport fees - sometimes they're just as much as the actual ticket.

What a long day this has been - I was zonked to begin with from two hours of sleep, but then to package up hundreds of CDs, get them shipped, print out hundreds of new orders, deliver an order and wolf down some food - I gotta tell you.  But I'm done for the day.

Did you forget about the flight?

Jose, I've enjoyed all the photos from your trip. Thanks for posting them.

Has anyone there asked about Monkey? Or did Monkey go off on his own excursion?

Was the original "Star Trek" movie really that much of a bore? I think I liked it. Of course, I also like Stephen Collins, so... ;)

Yes, it is pretty much a bore, mostly because it's too long for the slim story they had to tell.

I finished the bonus features for NEW IN TOWN. There were 11 deleted scenes. There was a featurette on scrapbooking. And the BD-Live site was also there.

I sped through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. It was the end of that short little story arc. Don't know where it's going from here.

Next I watched last night's THE TUDORS. Always enjoyable, especially knowing Cromwell's days are numbered.

I then watched LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. Yes, that was Norbert Leo Butz in a main role. I thought it was also Anthony Crivello, but I guess it wasn't. I didn't see his name in the credits.

Tonight's '24' was very exciting, and as in previous years, the main threat was finally neutralized a week before the season finale. BUT the bad guys always have one more trick to play, and that began tonight that will lead to what appears to be a very explosive season finale next week.

And I concluded my evening with the first of tonight's MEDIUM episodes, the conclusion of the three part story arc begun last week. It included a very good twist (though I have to admit about halfway through the show, I figured out the twist before it happened.)

Speaking of Young Artists, you heard it here first:  there's a new series in development I just did a long and exhausting online marketing survey for that's basically FAME warmed over.  It's called LIMELIGHT and it has the Egyptian guy from the Mummy movies and that girl from American Dreams.  It's really, really bad.

I got my federal tax refund today. I really was not expecting it until the end of the month. Very pleased as this is the first money back from the US in probably a decade.

Shayne, you shouldn't be having a problem.  I've been getting orders all day for two and three CDs.  You just need to put your item in the shopping cart, then go back and click Buy Now on another album and it, too, should go in the shopping cart

The lamp needed replacing - I ordered it.  It arrived.  The last time I had to replace the lamp, which was a mere year ago, we had major problems.  A service technician did it, and the prongs that the lamphouse plugs into were all bent and loose.  Well, they snapped today and this TV is now so antiquated that it's simply not worth it to fix it.  So, we'll have to do something about it, like get a TV - happily, orders have been very healthy.

A cleaver?  At this point, I'll take a Barbara Billingsley chin, if that's all that's available.

What is wrong with yours?

Flight was fine and on time.  I got home around 10:40 and immediately began packing up CDs - got everything shipped out.  I also had over two hundred Tom Jones orders to print out - it looks like this will be gone by morning.

Glad your trip was safe (and over).  Welcome Home!

BTW, Laura, Jason said to say hello.

Oh, how sweet. Thank you. Now I am wondering how I happened to come up in a conversation.
It started with a discussion of  game wardens and other men in uniforms.

Laura - i had recited the hysterical birthday poem which Sandra wrote for me, and somehow your name came up, too.

Oh, well, I guess that makes sense. I hope he doesn't think we are crazy, or anything. He probably does.

I think Jason kind of has a clue already--- about so many ofus!

I fell asleep during the first Star Trek movie. I never bothered to go see another one.

Everyone fell asleep during that one.;D

I have yet to see a STAR TREK movie, and I doubt that this one will be an exception.

I saw a Star Trek episode once (the original series).
