Fear not, Cher François.  This has been a severe "no-show" day for many Hainsies/Kimlets for some reason.

It could be that many took off today and are out having an extended four-day "Labor Day Weekend."

I've been typing furiously all day and even "I" am sick of seeing my face every time one of my posts scroll by.

I've begged.   I've implored.  I've besmirched.  And no one will be moved.

I haven't tried canoodling....but an internet "canoodle" might be necessary to stir some of these folks out of their torpor.

Yes!  I said TORPOR!

I've NEVER understood why Labor Day is celebrated by NOT working!

That too is a puzzlement!

(I know! I know! I forgot "AND"!)

On the TOD, the only variety show that I really watched during that time was the Muppet Show.  My sister and I would argue over who got to be Miss Piggy.

A few years ago I caught a few episodes of Pink Lady and Jeff- it was delightfully odd and interesting.

Oh dear, TPunk, I am afraid you should never have said that.  Mr. Barnum will be arriving in The Big Apple in about one month; and I am afraid......... er... well, I am afraid you may just get a stalker.

Good Evening!

Well, over the past couple of hours...

I took the A Train down to Columbus Circle (59th and Broadway)...

Then I decided to take walk through Central Park - It was one amazingly bee-you-ti-muss day!

I headed up the West Side of the Park - past the softball fields, past the Sheep Pasture, past The Lake, through Strawberry Fields, across to the Delacorte, then past the Great Lawn, over to Cleopatra's Needle, around the Met, back down to the Boathouse, through the Zoo...

Then down Fifth Avenue a few blocks, over to Sixth Avenue, down to 46th Street, where I met my friend, Cindy, to go over some music for an audition she had this afternoon.  "Goody, Goody" was the song - fun arrangement.

We practiced at Michiko Studios right across from the Equity Building, then headed over to New Dance Group for her audition.  It went very well.  -Although, the A/C in the audition room was VERY loud - there was so much white noise, I had trouble hearing her sing in a few spots.

...And I also put a few more flyers up while I was there too.

I see George and TomovOz lurking...lurking...lurking.

I'm here!  I'm here!  I've been gone from my desk most of the day (I had a meeting and an eye appointment and lunch and ... just stuff to do).

Then I walked up Broadway for a bit, past Columbus Circle, up to Lincoln Center, then over to Amsterdam...

72nd... 85th... 96th... 103rd... 110th...

By that time, I realized that I needed to grab a subway back for the rest of the trip, so after walking through the Columbia University campus, I boarded the 1 Train at 116th and Broadway, and took that up to 145th, and walked back over to St. Nicholas...

And, now, I'm watching the "Six Feet Under" marathon on HBO-2... With my feet up.

Ahhh....

François, you know the way to a Minnesota boy's heart when you said and A Prairie Home Companion with fond memories of guest stars Marilyn Horne, Maureen McGovern and... Karen Morrow!

I, too, still love PHC. A friend from Nottingham is also a big fan and she and her husband just finished up the PHC Cruise which left from Boston and went up to Prince Edward Island and back to Boston. She's on her way home to Gedling now. I can't wait to see pictures and hear stories.

Did they import them from South Dakota??? We don't even have Prairie Dogs in Minnesota. They're cute critters but they are not domestic pets!

Ann and I just met someone last week who had previously owned prairie dogs.  Neither of us had ever heard of them as being pets, but this woman said they were really quite good pets.  Still, I don't think we'll be getting them any time soon.

Yes nice new avatar, DR TCB.

When is your star turn going to be broadcast on MTV?

Thank you one and all for your compliments about my new / old avatar.  I must confess that I was moved to action by DR Jane's belated admission that her avatar is NOT a current photo.

I did used to be cute, didn't I?

As for my national television debutt, we were informed today that MTV's HIGH SCHOOL STORIES will not start their new season until November, but that "Warrior Pride" is one of the first episodes that will be shown.  Please check your local listings.

Still, I think Prairie dogs belong to the Prairie, not homes anywhere in the world!

Me; old fashioned! (I love the moonlight...)

Why don't people "adopt" me?? I could be a good pet! I can even be a... dog at times... and I could dig holes in any prairie, oh, yes!

My grandmother always used to marvel when she saw him play "on the teevee"

"How does he make such beautiful music with such stubby fingers?"

Really???  From what I have heard, that would disprove one old wives tale!
