Well, you've read the notes, you're feeling like fruit, and now it is time for you to post until the fruity cows come home.

Yesterday for lunch, I went to Jack in the Box and had their Southwest Chicken Pita (very low calories and fat grams and quite yummilicious...a BK reference ;)), but I also had their seasoned curly fries (low in neither calories nor fat grams) but they were all CURLICUE shaped! ;D

In the morning, I'm going with my niece and maybe my sister to see "X-Men III" at 10:45 a.m. showing (there is also a 9:30 a.m. showing!).  On Monday, we're going to see "The Da Vinci Code."  These are the first movies since either "The Producers" or "Brokeback Mountain" that I've seen in the theaters.  I like going to the movies.  I should go more...even by myself. :) But not right now.  I must sleep so that I don't fall asleep at the movie.

Every year, Rehoboth Beach becomes the temporary home of a large number of Russian and Romanian exchange students, here to work for the summer.

Yesterday, a customer asked (well, snorted) "Does this store have any of those non-English speaking workers?"

I looked at him and replied, "No, everyone who works here speaks English.  For some of them, it's a second language."

Job satisfaction takes all forms.

Good morning, all!  I'm up early.  Dylan is off to a family reunion in Connecticut and his train's at 8 am from Grand Central.  I will ride the subway with him to 42nd Street and proceed to Toyland for a bit of work.  I've got several unpublished dances for THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER to reduce from full score to piano, and some edits with my colleague Mr Murray.

I shall most likely return here and crash for a while.

Well today is RACE day in Indiana -  well EVERYDAY is RACE day in Indiana, but it is the day of the 500 Mile Race.

Said Race used to be an event of gargatuan stature....the entire city would be decorated in black/white flags....it was AN EVENT!!  Owner of said race track the Speedway - has for his own satisfaction and because he CAN - turned it into JUST ANOTHER RACE on the circuit.  Oh the news media here still try to report it as they did in decades past (with special segments and 15 EXTRA minutes of coverage each evening at 6 AND 11) - but there is little or NO interest now.

Kind of like the State Basketball Tourney, which used to be a BIG thing until the POLITICIANS decided we needed class basketball and four champions (4 boys' teams and 4 girls' teams) - and the whole thing is now a big YAWN!

Such is progress.

Sunday morning greetings!  I just saw DH Richard off for his day of church in Cincinnati and shape-note singing in Dayton.  Later I will get a call from my college friend, Anne, who's on her way home to Michigan from a vacation down south.  We'll meet someplace for lunch and catch up on, I think, almost 4 years of each other's lives.

Morning all!
It's going to be a hot one here today. Mid to upper 90s.  So, we're going to one of the two regular holiday flea markets as soon as it opens.  We went to the other one yesterday. Saw lots of fleas, but only bought a hand woven rug for my kitchen and some 1913 Sioux City post cards.

Callie and I are both doing quite well this morning. She let me sleep through the night last night, so I think she's at least adjusting to being here.

I love fruit. But you have to be careful, it's isn't all calorie free. It's got natural sugar, but it's still sugar.

I agree! Grapes are especially sweet and caloric. Bananas, too.

I love strawberries, blueberries, raspberries - up here in the NW, I WAIT for the picking season - June for Strawberries, July for razberrys, August for blueberries and wild blackberries. Many of the farms around these parts have a U-Pick policy, and charge very much less than the stores...

Going to be HOT here, too.

Now....at PCPH (Putnam County Playhouse) we have a large barn theatre with the shop attached (costume loft above) and the dressing rooms-makeup-rehearsal area are in another small barn 25 yards away.

Ideally the DRESSING ROOMS=Makeup area should be in the attached addition (built in 1992) - but the shop bitch said she would not build sets and "carry" them all that way.....this despite the fact that she makes the cast "carry" everything once it's built ANYWAY.

I only say this because I am having my auditions in the rehearsal space today AND the director of THE SOUND OF MUSIC has decided to call a special FULL DRESS rehearsal at exactly the same time....not one hour earlier, not one hour later.

SO - the noisy cast of THE SOUND OF MUSIC will be dressing, talking, walking and generally being a NUISANCE in the same area as my SCHEDULED auditions.

Which I didn't even know was happening, except a good friend of mine who is working on TSOM thought I should know and emailed me.

Anyway....all that and 90 degrees.

Rant over....

Have a fun lunch, DR GINNY!

Thanks, DR JRand!  I hope your auditions go well and that the environment isn't too chaotic.

My answer to your earlier question about favorite costumes would be the gray corduroy pants and vest (with a black turtleneck) that I wore as The Mute in the DR Elmore-directed Fantasticks.  The vest had lots of pockets for me to carry the "special effects," like confetti, autumn leaves, snow, etc.  I just had to be careful to sprinkle the right thing at the right time!

I have to say, I've been struggling with what I read in yesterday's posts about today's "generation of young people" and as polite a conversation it was, it hurt me.  Because it is one thing to say "except for you" or "except for a few" because when you are talking about this generation, you are not only talking about me, but about the majority of my friends and many of my family members.

Adolescents and young adults make mistakes, that is well documented, and it is part of the process of growing up.  And yes, the kinds of mistakes that they make have changed over time, but in my eyes, that does not make them worse.  I can't even imagine what it is I will be ranting about 20 or 30 years from now.

And I do have frequent contact with this generation.  I talk to them on the phones at GMHC when they have called feeling anxious or scared and need some support.  I see them in the testing center, responsibly checking their HIV status and holding the hands of their friends and partners.  I met some very special ones this summer who had given up their spring break to come volunteer.  I acted as a therapist to one who was angry and hostile after having been pounded down by years of abuse and indifference who attempted to reach out to others.  I sat in an auditorium with hundred of them last week who accepted their diplomas and were about to set of on an underpaid and under-respected career of helping others because it is what they felt they needed to do.

When I see someone of "that generation" on the street, yakking on their cellphone, having a loud conversation with a friend with on apparent regard for others, or in any other way acting "inappropriate or rude" I see a veneer.  I see someone adrift who is trying very hard in this sometimes cruel and often uncertain world, to present a picture of confidence and sureness when they feel something very different inside.  I think that to some degree, we all do that.  It's just that our years of experience have taught us to do it in a more mature way.

And maybe don't apply that "exception" to me.  I still do crazy things from time to time, I have a thong or two in my underwear drawer, and I know that my audacious gum cracking and obsessive use of the word "um" drives my mother and those of her generation crazy. But I think that deep down inside, for those who bother to get to know me, I am a pretty great person.  And I like to think that the same applies to most in my generation.  We're all just struggling to make our way.

I'm thinking it was the two outfits I wore playing the Narrator/Mysterious Man in INTO THE WOODS. Since the actor must make a couple of split second changes going from one character to the other, it was imperative that the clothes would be able to be able to step into and velcro shut almost instantly.  Also, the MM's clothes had to be baggy enough to have the Narrator's dress pants on underneath.

I think I have a picture of each outfit around here some place, but I'll have to look for them later.

The best fitting clothes I ever had were while playing Max in THE SOUND OF MUSIC: a tux and three suits that were tailored for me and fit like a glove.

I'd have to take some screen captures from the video for pics. I don't think any stills were shot with me. (SOM is ALL about Maria and the children, and they got all the PR.)

I had absolutely GORGEOUS costumes for A Doll's Life!! in the second act. Very Godey's Ladies Book - the Vogue of the 1890's. They fit me like skin. I loved wearing those clothes and hats and furs! Oh, my!!!

Another was my second act Pirates of Penzance dress at Light Opera of Manhattan! Wow! I think I do have a picture of that, somewhere - but no way to post it. Again, very 1890's, pink and white, lots of lace and artificial flowers and layers of tulle, and a gorgeous bustle, and very fitted bodice! I was born for that fashion!

AND in the same vein: my Merry Widow costume, at New York City Opera - maroon velvet, fitted bodice, black lace trim, low neckline, bare arms. Yum!

One more - for some reason, I totally LOVED my Carmen costumes at NYCO, too. Peasant blouse and huge pink and black skirt for the Tavern; wonderful green bolero jacket over a green skirt and black boots for the Smugglers' Lair; incredibly ornate gown and mantilla for the Bullfight. All enhanced, of course, by the fact of my getting to sing all the high soprano lines in the Quintet, Trio, Smuggler's Ensemble, and all o' that!!!

A little known fact is that of "The Three Stooges," Moe and Larry were not as bright as the seemingly dumb Curly.

Many a time a take was saved because Curly would feed a line to either Moe or Larry, both of whom grew dependent upon the "Curly cue".

I took care of a few errands yesterday that I've been procrastinating over for a couple of weeks.

Each involved driving a distance in what I presumed would be horrendous weekend traffic.

I was pleasantly delighted to discover easy travelling, few cars and a gorgeous day.

Not EVERYbody's out of town this weekend!  I used to enjoy Memorial Day when I lived in Indianapolis -- the few souls who did not go to the Brickyard (the Indy 500 race track) stayed in their homes to watch the race.

Me...I drove all over Indianapolis, all relaxed and enjoying the nearly empty streets!

I watched "Good Night and Good Luck" last night.  A riveting film with a superb performance by David Strathairn.  It was a neat look at the inner doings at CBS when Murrow waged his campaign of advanced citizenship by tackling the muckraking Joe McCarthy.

I followed up by watching the newest DVD incarnation of "Breakfast at Tiffany's"...which sparkles more now than it did in any previous viewing I've had of it.

The 5.1 sound is a bit much at times...and comes off as faux "electronic stereo enhancement" over the end credits.   But fortunately, the original mono sound is part of the package as well.

I'm not sure how others feel about it, but there's a scene that has always disturbed me...and seemingly, it would have been/should have been even more disturbing to many people in 1961.   That scene is the one in which Holly and Paul go out in NYC to do things that neither has done before...and Holly suggests stealing from the five-and-dime.  And they do.

I realize that both characters were, intrinsically, outside acceptable society at the time.  The role of Holly was downplayed quite a bit for the film so that Hepburn could do the role.  Paul was gussied up, too.

The stealing from the store was considered nothing out of the norm for such people to do.

Today, they seem worldly and quite normal as characters.  Sadly, the stealing scene -- without any regrets afterward -- has become a more normal part of society, as well.

JRand,  as a civilian I quite enjoy wearing a tux.  And will wear one any chance I get.  Back in the nineties I finally bought one.  very traditional.  Black,  cumberbund, the whole thing.  I don't like different colours and I don't really like the ones that have long ties.  I do have several different bow ties and cumberbund sets to mix it up occasionally.

In the theatre, I've had several nice costumes...Roman soldier, loincloth, lots of capes and tights numbers...all very swashbuckling.  One of my favourites was a swarthy gypsy costume I got to wear as the leader of a troupe of players who come on stage to perform Comedy of Errors.  I also got to write my own role in doggerel of rhymed couplets where I introduce all the players.  Lots of fun!

TPunk - Thank you for your post. You've said many of the things I was thinking, but I finally gave up on the debate. (For a number of reasons,) Not only did I give up, but in a fit of pique and frustration I removed a longish, heartfelt bit I had posted about my daughter and how I had raised her. All that remains is "Thank you, Cillaliz."...followed by empty space. Your thoughtful response shows me the error of my... ahem... immature response to the situation. That said, the debate is over for me. I've said what I had to say and stand by it -- and by what you posted.

Well, let me go try to resize some photos.  Sigh.

BTW--I've looked at my space and didn't like what I saw so I never bothered to sign up.

As for BWW, I confess I go back and look at it from time to time.  I'd even considered starting to post again but when I see what the board has turned into, I can't imagine it.

For example:  I was both shocked and horrified not to long ago when I saw a new poster innocently asking some questions about a show/NYC and everyone there jumped on that person stating they should have done a search before asking any questions because “it had already been discussed”.  I was so upset about it, I almost sent a PM to Rob and Craig because I couldn’t believe they would allowed that.

I mean, when you first surf onto a site may not even realize it HAD a search function or the search function may not work correctly.  I know I’ve tried to use BBW’s and couldn’t make one thing I was looking for come up.

Anyway, you could tell the person was crushed by the response they received and I don’t think I ever saw them attempt to post again.

I just think it is a shame that what should be used as an ambassador of the theater world may have turned someone against it because they asked a question that had been asked before.

TPunk, well put.  I’m so glad now I didn’t say my boys are also exception to the rule.  ;D Okay, so I’m prejudiced and, as with you & the rest of the younger DR’s, I consider them the “cream of the crop”, but they aren’t the exception.  The crop is very large, why else would the Peace Corps have more applications than it can accept.  Unfortunately the entire crop is very large, thanks to over population, and there is much to groan over.  Not that there aren’t plenty of idiots in my generation.

I remember the “teeny boppers” of my generation & my embarrassment my slightly younger cousin was one of them.  Guess what, she grew up rather nicely & I loved her dearly.

Good Morning!  Good Afternoon!

So... Before I head off to the theatre for today's matinee/closing performance...

Once again, a big Thank You to everyone here on HHW for your Vibes and Support.

Yes, I am a bit sad today, but not that we're closing "early", but just that we're closing.  Putting a show to rest is always a bittersweet affair.

As for myself... Well, as the saying goes, when one door closes another one opens... And in my case, about five other doors have opened.  :)  I'm gonna be spending a good amount of time over the coming week sorting through various "options".  *In fact, a couple of those "doors" opened Wednesday morning in the form of e-mails from a couple of people... Gotta love the internet!

And, once again, I know I have a lot of catching up to do...  And I do truly deserve to be bitch-slapped from here on 145th down to Battery Park... And back again...  I should have some time this week to read and post... ;-)

...It's been an amazing ride.  And I have to say the one saving grace about the whole experience was that I was just "the piano player" for this gig.  I was a hired hand.  No creative investment on my part.  No stakes to lose.  Nothing to lose (except some nice weekly paychecks).  Everything to gain.  And I have gained a lot over the past of months.  I didn't choose this show, the show chose me.  Onward and upward...

See you at The Palace DR vixmom and the vixter and FJL!

Laters...

I'm up, I'm up.  Finally, I slept past nine.

TPunk, the debate yesterday (which I wouldn't call a debate, just people saying how they feel) has been going on since time began vis a vis older generation/younger generation.  And my only point has that with the current younger generation their being raised in the way they've been raised and bombarded with the sorts of things (media-wise) they've been bombarded with, it's no wonder.  That there ARE exceptions is amazing.  I can imagine how hard it must be.  I do blame parents, I do blame the media, but that doesn't negate what I see wherever I look.  It doesn't mean these kids aren't good people or won't get over this ridiculousness - and I'm not the one who made up the expression "Thirty is the new twenty."  I'm just saying that today's folks in their 20s haven't seemed to ever have left high school.  I see it every day, I'm around it every day.  It's  not the end of the world surely, and no one here meant to hurt anyone - but what's happening is what's happening.  And I'm not even talking about the kids who are adrift and at sea - I'm talking about the affluent (thanks to mom and dad or luck), entitled, can't be alone no matter what (I've had this said to me by two young people recently - they don't know how to be alone), got to party no matter what, and I'll stop there but it gets much worse.

I think we've all said what we have to say and no one is right or wrong, we all just feel what we feel.  And it ain't about thongs, TPunk.

And just one little addendum to my post above: As most here know, I tend to hang out with young people - I like hanging out with them, and much prefer it to hanging out with old cockers my age.  Some of my nearest and dearest are young people, and I discuss this stuff with them from time to time.  The ones I know are fairly self-aware and are actually trying to stop acting like they're acting - they see it in others and laugh about it, so that's a good sign.

Yikes!  My CF (college friend) called 'way earlier than I expected, so I've been to brunch and got back in time to see all the Indy 500 festivities and the start.

Yes, DR JRand, I remember the glory days in Indianapolis.   I have deep roots there and my grandmother lived there most of her life.  My family was there for qualifications and the race several times in the 1960's.  "Back Home Again in Indiana" still brings tears to my eyes and I've never lived a day of my life there!

BK, do stick to the fresh fruit and you might grab some bags of the fresh vegis...those mixes of brocolli, pea pods, baby carrots, etc are great to snack on...mix in some grapes and you can have a nice, healthy, and filling snack while surfing the net, watching DVDs, or posting on this here sight.

TPunk, I am in total agreement with what you have said. There are good and bad in every generation and IMHOP I can't image it is that much worse now then at any other time...just different things.

I really find it is so much nicer to focus on the good... and as for cell phones (of which I am an owner!), I certainly see just as many people in their 40s and 50s chatting on them in public as I see 20s and 30s.

In other news I got up at the crack of dawn to interview former child star Stuffy Singer....he starred in the 1950s sitcoms THE BEULAH SHOW and BLONDIE. He was also among the cast of the very, very early live tv kids shows SANDY DREAMS and FANTASTIC STUDIO, INC both of which ran in the late 1940s (he was about 6 years old...doing live television on a weekly basis! Can you imagine!).

Anyhow, we had a great time chatting and he was a lot of fun to talk to and man the people he worked with as a kid...Lionel Barrymore, Butterfly McQueen, Jack Benny, Eddie Cantor, Greer Garson, Bob Hope, Phil Harris, Clifton Webb, Ronald Reagan, Burl Ives, and on and on in TV, radio (he did a LOT of radio shows), and films.

He works as a financial consultant now.

In this film Shilp is plays a young, successful business woman who contracts the HIV virus from and old flame who seduces her and then leaves. This is a remake of PHILADELPHIA.

Afterwards, I did put in THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST and got two hours of it watched. Deeply moving as it was before, and the Criterion DVD taken from a new high definition master is stunning. Looks much better than the print I saw at the theater here.

Just how ridiculous the Oscars can be is the fact that Willem Dafoe wasn't even Oscar-nominated for this great performance (Dustin Hoffman won that year for the showy, one-note performance in RAIN MAN.)

I'm here, BK!  Feeling very lazy and in need of a nap.  I had a good morning at the office, and now I'm here watching a bad Lifetime movie, MALPRACTICE, hoping it will bore me into a stupor.

Last night, Dylan and I watched ROPE, which I had never seen before.  I wasn't crazy about Mr Arthur Laurents' very stagey dialog, but I was swept away by the virtuoso camera work.  Dylan's assessment of John Dall:  he's like Ben Affleck with talent.

I have a blind item for ouor DR Jose: what conductor went home with Tarzan last week?

I have the "younger generation" discussion with the DP all the time.  Most of the time it's not the youngin's that are at fault, it's often the way they are raised.  Most of the time by parents that spend more time on their lives than their kid's life and often leaves the kids to fend for themselves.  I feel sorry for a lot of this generation and often defend them in conversation.

I'm sorry if I offended any parents here by the above statement.

Happy B'day, Mr. Brockman!!! wherever you are...

Jose! It is so good to see you back on the board! I'm just itchin' to know what some of those 5 offers are... I can't imagine you'll have much of a vacation after the matinee today. Cross your fingers and you just may get a week off to rest and hack around, go to shows, see friends, alla that - before diving back into a full schedule. So proud of ya, boy!

My young nephew Travis, 23, has been supporting himself since he was 14 - yes, that's the truth. He is a great boy, loves to party, his summer job is working for NASA. His father - my own dear brother - is 53 years old, going on 14. Some people can stay adolescent forever - and yes, my brother was exceptionally spoiled by his mother. My ex - same story - only he's about 16-going-on-17.

Like Merlin, I was born old, and have been getting younger and younger - in spite of the silver hair and wrinkles.

Challenges bring out the best and worst in people - early challenges of a survival type can cause children to lose their youth - excessive pampering can keep a child from growing up. There is no ONE recipe for becoming a real adult. We all do it our own way, for our own good reasons.

AND when someone posts an opinion, it is about THAT PERSON, reflecting their thoughts, history, memories, all o' that... someone else's opinion is NOT about YOU, and does not really concern you - unless you choose to learn about that person, or choose to take offense. No one can offend you without your permission, and decision...

Hello people!

The Vixter and I had a lovely day.  Sorry theatre critics but we beg to disagree, we had a wonderful time at Lestat and quite enjoyed the show.  The  Vixter gave it her highest compliment... "It was good, not just Beauty and the Beast good, but Wicked good!"

We had great seats 10th row orchestra, a little left of center but still pretty central.  Hugh Panaro, despite being ill, was in great voice and had terrific energy.

Alisson Fischer was wonderful.  We had seen her several years ago in an off Broadway production of The Prince and the Pauper when she was probably not more than 12 or 13. I hope to see her on Broadway again very soon.

The theatre was full and the audience very appreciative.    Afterwards the sidewalk by the stage door was lined with fans.

But best of all, we got to spend time with the lovely and talented Jose  and FJL!!!

The Vixter was showered with gifts by both of these generous DR's.  We met Jose's friend, and Jason's new employer, Steve James (I'm a nidiot, got the name wrong!)  and then FJL treated all of us to a meal and a drink at a lovely little place down by Time Square.

Depite FJL's best efforts, I caught onto his nefarious plot and  did not become drunk and disorderly
 ;D

well actually he ordered a "virgin pina colada" which sounded so good I changed my order from a gingerale to the same as his, only the waitress brought us "liquored up " versions!! After a few sips the buzz began to kick in since I had taken my hay fever allergy meds!  We called the waitress over who removed the offending drinks and replaced them with coffee and soft drinks!!

The Vixter was showered with gifts by both of these generous DR's.  We met Jose's friend, and Jason's new employer, Steve and then FJL treated all of us to a meal and a drink at a lovely little place down by Time Square.

Depite FJL's best efforts, I caught onto his nefarious plot and  did not become drunk and disorderly

Ummm.... That's "James" not "Steve"...

Re yesterday's TOD... its always the noisy, rude and crude that get noticed.  The average person gets overlooked and the annoying minority are the ones that give the generatin the bad name..... anyone remember the 1960's ?  As I recall that entire generation was made up of drug using, irresponsible, rude kids who refused to grow up, get jobs or bathe.

Well... It was a wonderful day.  Yes, it got emotional at times, but the whole show, the whole experience ended on a very up-note.

And now... Well... The past week has started to catch up to me...  Because we recorded the cast album last Monday (15 hours!), I haven't had a day off in two weeks... So... I'm going to have some quiet time tonight - and tomorrow most likely - and then it's back to the grind - which I love! - on Tuesday.  Details to follow.

-Great seeing DRs vixmom and FLJ and the vixter again today.

Laters...

Sorry!! He seems very nice.  It was very kind of both of you to delay going to your aftershow party to spend time with us.

I watched the last 40 minutes of THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST which contain, as per the title, his last temptation. I just adore that final confrontation between Dafoe and Harvey Keitel (who played Judas). Very powerful.

The other episode involved the death of the son of one of Vegas' bigshots, the man who (in later seasons) turns out to be the father of CAtherine Willows. Wonderful seeing these early years of the show. EVeryone looks so young, all the actors are featured in the case, and it's what made the show such a smash hit. It's a very rare episode now that features the entire cast.

Watched the COLD CASE rerun (which was new to me). COLD CASE is one of the shows which I regularly missed due to sports runovers during the NFL season. This case involved the murder of a dot.commer in 1998 when their site went belly up due, as it turned out, to insider trading.

Vixmom did indeed look at the passport photo of myself circa 1989, and SEEMED to be able to vouch for the uncanny resemblance to DR Ron Pulliam's avatar.  I'll find a way someday of getting that photo on here. but for now...

Also watched the L&O:CI rerun. The troubled actor Brad Renfro was the primary guest star, and he did very well in the part. One wonders, though, if his halting speech patterns and the glazed expression in the eyes were acting or maybe due to some chemical enhancement of his performance.

Wonderful photos of the Vixmom and Vixter with Jose and FJL!!! Happy times in the Big Apple! Vixter is growing up so much!

It rained all day here - I actually put on boots and went out in it for two hours of gardening - er, weeding - anyway. Then some neighbors who only come up on holiday weekends during summer invited me to sup with them. How nice they are. They have a kid. And a dawg!

Speaking of dawgs - Woods! Brucer! Go for it! Are you really gonna get another dawg??? Sheesh, I need a dawg...

TCB - great happytude to see your posts. How are ya, boy?

Tenterhooks, I tell you, tenterhooks about Jose's job offers... ummm, what's a tenterhook?

MY THEORY... Reilly has no concept of explaining it... The present writer of the show is the same writer for Passions...

He crawled out the car window and watched the family at christmastime and in classic Reilly fashion it will never be explained.

Sad thing is at times he has good germs of ideas but they never germinated and they use one plot gimmick after another. Very poor writer in my book. I like well developed characters and strong character driven stories.

I am dreading what Reilly will do to Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans' characters of Steve and Kayla. It scares me.

BTW, debating if I want t kritzerland book or a Deceit DVD first... I am leanng to the DVD...

Laura, with days not listing Matt's name in the credits, it is not the first time but I find ti terribly unprofessional in regards to the actors when the day players are listed but not one on contract...

I feel an actor, director, writer should be acknowledged for their work and not slighted. There are a number of MA fans taht are disappointed in Days for their stunt. They did it in 2004 when he returned to the show. He was not listed for a month.

I am very restless - have finished Tokyo Story and a two hour documentary on Ozu, and am now trying to watch a new transfer of The Quiller Memorandum.  I ate two low-cal no-fat hot dogs on lite buns, because I didn't think the salad was enough - but the hot dogs were less than three hundred calories and I ran today and even went two extra blocks.

I wish you the best of luck with both the weight loss and the horseback riding.  I've only been on a horse once in my life and it wasn't a pleasant experience:

When I was probably eight or nine years old, my parents sent my sister and I to a weekend camp and we had to ride horses from the drop-off point to the camp site. At one point on the way to the camp, we went under some trees and I was knocked off the horse and (of course) started crying.  The guys in charge just told me (and not very politely) to stop crying...at least, that's what I remember.  And when we got to the camp, the horses went to the shallow pond to start drinking, but I couldn't get my horse to back up and get on a dry spot for me to get off of it, so I jumped off, fell in the water and the horse stepped on my arm!  The only other memories that I have of that whole weekend is that 1) the room that we slept in was a big empty room and we all slept on our sleeping bags on the floor and 2) at the end of the weekend, I and I think my sister and a couple other kids maybe, got to ride the jeep back to the drop-off (now pick-up) point.  Otherwise, I have absolutely no memory of what we did.

PS. I've never been on a horse again...ever.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. The guides you had did not sound very professional...

I I have been bucked off a couple of times... One time was not the horses fault but some idiotic moron with a shot gun who thought the horse I was on was a deer.

The other time, he saw a mare in heat and felt his oats...

Well, this morning I went with my family to see "The Da Vinci Code."  I thought that we were going to see "X-Men III" today and "The Da Vinci Code" tomorrow, but I got it backwards.  Anyway, I really enjoyed the movie.  I had no expectations and don't know anything about the history of which they spoke, so I was able to suspend disbelief and just enjoy it.  I think "X-Men III" will require much more suspension of disbelief...but it's not realistic, whereas "TDVC" is very realistic.
