There's been a Safari update available but I couldn't do it - got an error message and after chatting the other day it was apparently because I'm still using High Sierra, the previous OS - why that would cause that issue is anyone's guess.

So, I called Apple and as soon as the Time Machine back-up completed we installed Mojave the newest OS. The initial part of that took about fifteen minutes, then it restarted the computer and now it's installing for real - an hour it says

Watching Paul Whiteman and a cast of too many in The King of Jazz from 1930. The Techincolor is primitive and wonderful. Everything about the movie is overblown and a little creaky. But a very young Bing Crosby was a sight to see. And all these white people singing about Mexico is hilarious. Their Spanish is about as authentic as my Mandarin.

The latest word from Mom is that they don't know what's wrong with Dad. He'll be in the hospital another day for some liver tests. He did eat a full meal today and he kept it down, which is progress.

I have been coming home for lunch everyday, but last week when I had errands to run at lunch time I didn’t have enough time to stop home for lunch so I stopped at the deli where I get our Sunday egg sandwiches
