Heading down now to clean the bedroom areas and then head back to the den to continue DOCTOR DOLITTLE.

Spoo!

I meant to mention that I did scan through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. I got FURIOUS that Imira stood by helplessly and did nothing to save herself, fight back, nothing, especially since it was 3 against 2 if she had helped!. Absurd! Surely she knew what fate awaited her if the two bashers got her off alone. Horrible, wretched writing and acting. That entire sequence was abysmal! The nadir of the show since I've been watching.

And I thought PASSIONS was stupid!  This soap has no time; the parents arrive to save them in a split second; the plot involving the $250,000 is whizzing by. He's dressing as he talks on the phone and walks into the next part of the storyline fully dressed immediastely after! Magic.

A favorite "red carpet" moment from the Oscars, 'cause I really love Calista Flockhart (and has anyone this petite been seen at Oscar since Audrey Hepburn???):

What was it, exactly, that you needed to watch him do?

DR elmore - The vamp is essentially E-flat to D-flat, with the basic rhythm being dotted-quarter -> eighth tied to a quarter (or even a half note).  And, as DR singdaw noted earlier, it's a two-bar vamp.  However, in the George Benson version of the sheet music, the E-flat it retained as a pedal tone under the second half of the measure (the D-flat chord) - ???  -In any case, it's all about the bass line to me.

Don't any of you people speak English?

Last night, der Brucer wrote:

The local cat society has very strict rules:

No placement in homes with out fenced yards.
No placement with apartment dwellers.
No placement with renters without a signed consent form from the landlord.

I understand the first one (so other animals, like dogs, and unruly children) cannot get to a cat who has gone inside the fence for safety.  Make no mistake:  The fence will not keep a cat in a yard.

The second one is not a good rule, IMO.  Many folks live in apartments and could provide excellent, safe environments for cats.

The third rule, of course, is mandatory.  The landlord must always give approval (and exact a $$$ deposit, if he or she desires) if a pet is to live in a home.

In the case of my landlord, I didn't pay a deposit.  Instead, I pay monthly rent on both of my babies.  Eash one increases the rent by $25.00 a month.  Believe me, they are both priceless.

Well, yes, I did understand that, DR RLP, from your original instructions.  I'm just not prepared to do that at work.  Although it could be interesting! :D

RE: Something I did not know before

I did not know that Anaheim Hills is not an incorporated city in Orange County until yesterday.

I'd seen Anaheim Hills listed in the Thomas Brothers Guide...

(that's a famous brand of maps in California, which instead of folding out and creating confusion comes in a spiral-bound book which creates it's own kind of confusion)

Thomas Guides (from which I get no revenue) are certainly not limited to the great state of California.  You can find them almost everywhere.

Re:  Lost (again).

Well, the 8 and 6 may be two different entities, but doesn't it stand to reason that the 6 came from the 8?  How could it be otherwise?  So, the question naturally arises (at least to me)--why 8?  Why not 18?  Or 7?  Or 6?  Are the other two Shannon and Boone?

Another Lost Mystery:  Has anyone else noticed that Harold Perrineau has been in the credits again this season, but I have yet to see him.

I was wondering if the other two could be Walt and Michael.  Didn't they get off the island?  And wouldn't they have told people that a whole bunch of other people survived??

I wish TCB could just get himself out here to play General Mills.

Believe me, BK, I would give my eye-teeth (if I knew which ones they were) to play General Mills.  Hell, just to be involved with THE BRAIN in any way would be wonderful.  I love that show.  Hey, maybe I will win the Mega Millions on Saturday!

Nothing. It's just that a day on a soap can last for over a week of viewing or, in today's episode, everything happens in the blink of an eye at lighting speed.  It's very disconcerting.  That, and the lousy writing.  It makes the worst MONK episodes look better than they are.

MSNBC Local News Headline:

Fred Meyer Sued For Sexual Harassment

This disturbs me greatly as Fred Meyer has been dead for many years.

Sometimes that is the worst kind of sexual harassment!
