I am watching Island of Terror on the Universal HD Channel.....the main reason is Edward Judd from THE DAY THE EARTH CAUGHT FIRE and STOLEN HOURS.  He is the MAIN MAN in the movie and is very TALL and good looking....the plot is preposterous.....

The heroine just said:  David, be careful.

He is using raw Strontium 90 to destroy the beasties who eat the bones right out of animals AND people.

Portraying Tom Cruise, the intergalactic ruler Xenu and a dancing brain, among others, the OBIE Award-winning play explains and dissects the actual teachings of Scientology against the candy-colored backdrop of a traditional nativity play. This production is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Scientology.

Curmudgeonliness continued--I have to say I was underwhelmed (to say the least) by both of the above "musicals," at least from what I gleaned from their OCRs.

I believe I may be approaching BK levels of curmudgeonliness.  We have been watching "The Bourne Ultimatum" in HD, and the constant hand-held camera shaking, bobbing and weaving is driving me crazy (admittedly a very short drive).

You're not the first person who's had a real problem with that. I haven't seen the film, so I'll comment no more.

I began my afternoon viewing with the last 40 minutes of CHAMBER OF SECRETS on Blu-ray. The sound in the chamber was window-shaking in intensity, and I really loved the closing scenes.

I'm looking forward to rewatching this on Blu-ray many more times in the coming months.

Next I watched last night's JOURNEYMAN. If it IS the last-ever episode, the show went out in style with a lovely, somewhat bittersweet scene between Dan and his wife.

I watched CSI: NY which according to my newspaper was to have had a new episode last night, but it was a rerun from earlier in the season instead. It was a good episode, and I ended up rewatching it, but I was a trifle disapppointed.

This was the episode that introduced Kerr Smith to the show in a major story arc that concluded a couple of weeks ago.

Of course it is. The book wasn't written for you! It was written for dummies.

Next I watched the animated version of THE GRINCH. When it came on network TV a couple of weeks ago, I didn't watch the entire thing, so I made up for that this afternoon.

Since DR Elmore has been talking about the DVDs of BROTHERS & SISTERS this week, I took mine off the shelf and rewatched Nora's 60th birthday episode.

I was going to watch the Valentine's Day episode, but a lengthy phone call from a friend precluded that.

This played in the Fringe Festival several years ago.  I saw it just before it closed off-Broadway.

Once he hung up, I finished off my afternoon of viewing with today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Yes, the gay characters were on, and there were a couple of tear-inducing moments.

Tomorrow is a special episode, so who knows what will be happening.

...And I have just faxed the my last two invoices for 2007.  (At least I hope I have - my parents phone line is set up strangely here.)  And, apparently, there is a slim but good chance that both invoices will be processed and paid before 2008!  -Of course, since I won't be back in NYC until January 1, 2008, I won't be able to deposit the resulting checks until 2008.

Or something like that.

I need a nap.

Maybe tomorrow the insane killer father who hates gays will escape from prison for a suspenseful New Year celebration mixing the NRA with the Bates Motel.
