I was never a big fan of GREMLINS. It was one of the movies that led to the MPAA creating the PG-13 rating, and maybe since it was PG, I wasn't expecting something so violent and mean-spirited. I did not have a good time at the theater though I could certainly appreciate its creativity.

I'm sure we've seen this before, but it calls to mind that Simpsons episode where the beauty queens paraded and sang "We learned the truth at 17, that love was meant for beauty queens"

A gorgeous beauty queen singing "And I am telling you I'm not going" - we've seen it before, I think, but this time, it needs to be seen again for the gorgeous festive dress

DR Jose, I am a big fan of SYTYCD. But for some reason I was blanking when you mentioned Ryan Kasprzak. I guess i don't know most of them by their last names.  He is the tapper, and evan (from last season's) brother.

Or Jonathan and Darlene. Or Mrs. Miller.

I think all of these tapes are in a vault somewhere.

I'm not sure how many people here watched the SURVIVOR finale. But did anybody else find next season's premise interesting (past heroes vs villains).

Anyhow i did a search and here is the rumored cast. It features some interesting former contestants. It's not 100%. But i suspect most of it is accurate.

I had every intention of getting out there and see some of the films of 2009, but it just didn't happened very often. But there were a few that I did get to see and that I did enjoy:

UP
NEW YORK

and Netflix is sending me the 2009 film WAKE UP SID, which I expect to enjoy.

Couldn't say what are my best movies for 2009 are as I'm just starting to watch them...spending the holiday watching my WGA award screeners.  I haven't seen one movie in the theatre this year.

I'm heading downstairs now to clean up for tonight's festivities. Then, I can settle in with some leisure viewing followed by today's work project.

Not to scare elmore again, but -  :)

Someone on the All That Chat board suggested that Angela Lansbury's next role should be as one of the Brewster sisters in Arsenic and Old Lace.  Someone else mentioned that her memory isn't what it used to be, I thought Trevor Nunn, Memory - so i have to investigate:

Can a somewhat serious lyric be considered a parody, or does a parody have to be funny?

If Trevor Nunn directs her in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE:(tune of "Memory")

Eighty
And still here in my make-up
I can dream of the next role
And I wish you the same
Past the footlights
The happy crowd jumps up on their feet
The same people
Cheered my Mame

Mem'ry
Every morning I wake up
And remember the old days
I was glamorous then
In their cheering
They say that I'm still glamorous now
Does that mem'ry
Live again

Burnt out friends, some classic plays
The smell of elderberry
I'm no booster
Of the sisters Brewster
But working keeps me merry

Laughing
I can still get them laughing
Then they stop for a moment
As they wipe off a tear
While they're laughing
I hope this play's a limited run
So the next job can be here

I wonder if Wing ever recorded O Holy Night?

Alas, Wing's Christmas album does not include "O Holy Night"...           :(

Well I finally received an email from Daniel Kelly or whatever his real name is.  I had emailed him three times with NO response, so today when i learned from the USPS that the WRONG program which I sent back to him was "Undeliverable" - I sent him a message through EBAY saying I was filing a dispute with PayPal and would be leaving him negative feedback.  This is his reply:

"Hi

I received your rude  email.  Yes, i'm a scam artist-scamming people on Theater programs-how dare you! i have great feedback and have sold over 400 items.

I have no idea why the program would say undeliverable when returned.  Did you send it to the correct address?  I live in a 46 story building and the mailroom is quite busy right now and i get people's wrong mail all the time..guess what the post office is not perfect either.

I sold 2 programs 1 miss saigon and 1 hello dolly..i put your's in the opposite envelopes by mistake--because guess what I'M NOT PERFECT.  The woman who received your program was refunded and said she would send your program right out to you voluntarily--i guess she never did that.  I myself am waiting for 2 ebay items that i bought weeks ago-it's christmas , it's busy and well sometimes things happen.  So i will refund your money and the postage you sent to me..DO NOT CONTACT ME EVER AGAIN and be assured that i will leave just as negative feedback from you if you want to play that game."

Why is it that people who are wrong are the ones that get the most upset?

Of course the moment I got his email, I replied asking him to send me his correct address in his big 46 story building so that when MISS SAIGON comes back again, I could send it back to him.  LOL......I must be blocked, or he is trying to figure out an answer.

My guess is I will NEVER get my money.

Greetings from Toyland!

Why is it when you're next in line for an automated teller, the post office, a box office, a bank clerk, an automated postasge machine, a Verizon payment terminal, the person in front of you has never had any experience with said object and takes too damnerd long to accomplish a simple transaction? Why isn't there a window with a clerk at every one of these said situations with a posted sign that says "Are you retarded? A dumbass? Recently in a coma? Terminally stupid? I can help you." That's what I want to know!

Jrand, if you file a claim with paypal (and I would call them and talk them through all the correspondence) they will refund your money pretty quickly.

I'm up - it's suddenly very windy here in the City of Studio - I hope it stops before the gardeners get here because it's causing a lot of unseemly leaves to be everywhere.

Printed out some orders and am waiting for the wind to abate - if it does, I'll jog.  Also waiting to hear if we'll be doing the booklet signing this afternoon.

I am waiting for the judge to call for my 10:30 am hearing. Yes, it's already 11:52 AM, but this is how it goes with immigration court.

Anyway, it appears the storm is still coming but is a bit behind schedule, so I should have no problem leaving this afternoon.  I'm hoping to get out of town by 2:00 or 2:30, so it would be really nice if the judge called soon
