THE POSTING OF THE POST-CHRISTMAS NOTES
« on: December 26, 2009, 12:06:31 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were post-Christmas and Post Sugar Pops (which are tops), and now it is time for you to post until the post-Christmas cows come home.

Saturday morning greetings!  Our household is just beginning to stir.  Our only specific plans are to pick up a Honey Baked ham and, possibly, have a visit from niece Lauren.  Hers is the only unopened present left under our tree.

I am off to work.  We got a little bit of snow, and now the sun is shining although we are at 26 degrees.

Off to work.

TOD - For Christmas from DH Richard, I received 2 CDs that were released in 2009:

At Home with Friends - Joshua Bell

The Power of Two - Michael Feinstein and Cheyenne Jackson

And, when she was here for Thanksgiving, my sister brought me the new Barbra Streisand, as a thank-you for looking after our mom and aunt.

Good morning, all

TOD:

Allegro

Road Show

Next to Normal

The new Hair recording

I wish I could remember more. I wish I could remember much more than that. Must stop drinking at Christmas parties. But I won't be able to remember that, either. Have a great one.

Morning all. It began raining last night on Long Island but it's not raining now. We will probably still stay out here another night and return to the city tomorrow. It's in the 40s right now and some snow has melted due to the rain.

Anthony is in the basement arranging packing for our train trip back to the city. I need to get some breakfast (even though I've been up since 7:45am).

The Floop video was fun but I don't think I can eat it as prepared because I detest beets. Lips that touch beets will never touch mine! Ugh, one of the worst tasting vegetables ever (in my humble opinion, of course). AND beets stain with ugly maroon juice. The sight of borchst (sp) makes me tremble and then when you make it pink by adding sour cream - never gonna happen for me!

We have to go to the store sometime today and purchase a memory card for Anthony's new digital camera. It's a great camera but it did not come with a memory card and the card in his current (very old from 2000) camera is too big (physically) for the camera so it can't be used. Oh, well.

Later, gaters.

Good morning!

Much milder this morning than I was expecting. I wore a light jacket on my walk, and I really didn't need it. Tomorrow should be much colder according to the forecasts.

I got the MIGHTY MOUSE write-up completed this morning and got it posted freeing me for the rest of the day. I am delighted to have the day off! Now I just have to decide how to fill it.

I know I'll be watching INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE on Blu-ray this evening (want to wait until it gets dark). This afternoon may be one of the Warner Archive discs or GONE WITH THE WIND on Blu-ray which was a Christmas gift.

Tonight on HBO-HD is the cable premiere of REVOLUTIONARY ROAD which I am very much looking forward to recording. It doesn't start until 9 p.m., so I won't see it until tomorrow, but this will cross another want-to-see 2008 film off my list. Still haven't gotten to THE READER, BENJAMIN BUTTON, or FROST/NIXON from 2008. I assume they'll all be coming up in the weeks ahead on one of my paycable services.

I have two more episodes of THE MENTALIST on the first season set, but I went ahead yesterday and watched the "making-of Season One" documentary. It's SO much fun to hear Simon Baker and Owain Yeoman talk in their natural voices rather than with the American accents they effect for the show. It's an especially enjoyable bonus feature.

I also went ahead and watched the gag reel from season one of THE MENTALIST. Some funny flubs, and very funny to see Simon Baker correct a young, inexperienced actress who puts an arm up into his camera shot while he's talking.

DR JohnG - thanks for the reminder about the new Hair recording - I bought that one in NYC right after we saw the show in July.

Good Morning Ben- What Camera Did Anthony Get?

He got a Canon PowerShot SD 1200. It's part of the ELPH line. We got a 16 megabyte (big by old standards but tiny by today's) memory card so we know the camera works and it takes great pictures but we need a bigger memory card. This one holds just 7 pictures taken in high quality.
