I'm just not in the mood for a motion picture tonight.  I got Adam Cates' DVDs of our entire concert, unfortunately except for the two dance numbers, he kept the shot so wide that you can't see anything.  Still, I'm going to take his footage and the charity's footage and do some editing.

Listening to Georges Delerue's French noir scores - marvelously marvelous.

Now I must proof some liner notes.  Doug did a great job on the layout.

We braved the icy Portland roads today as we had been given a guest pass to shop at the Nike Employee Store, where everything starts at 50% off and then is often on sale on top of that.  So we got the kids a bunch of cool stuff, I got some shorts/tee shirts, Betsy got workout pants, all for a relative pittance.  Then on to the memorial service which was very nice as those things go.

Portland is due for two more major snowstorms--one on Wednesday and another on Saturday, so I will be venturing out tomorrow to stock us up on foodstuffs, etc.  I fear I may need to cancel my final orchestral-choir rehearsal on Wednesday evening for the upcoming Oratorio, but if it's been snowing all day, I know most everyone wouldn't come anyway.  Such is life in the Pacific NW.

I saw the Twisted Nerve once (I believe that JRand sent me a copy) and that was enough for me. LOL! I don't recall why I disliked it, however.

I do not remember the music at all, but to answer Ron Pulliam's question, there is most certainly a big market for the music from old horror (and sci fi) films. Vintage horror film fans seem to like the music just as much as they like the movies.

I used a Borders 40% off coupon today and got 300 on BD, since it was one of the freebies I got with my HD-DVD player and I liked it so much.  It had this weird little sticker on it saying to go to 300theDVD.com for "information on the authorship of the music in this movie."  I didn't remember seeing that sticker on the HD-DVD version, so I went to the site and read that evidently WB forgot to credit Elliot Goldenthal, whose score for "Titus" they used.  Could this have been a temp track they forgot to replace?   Could anyone have been that stupid?

If anyone has any interest, I have a pile of HD-DVDs (including all the Harry Potters) I'll sell for cheap, cheap, cheap.

I myself would love to see soundtracks from some of the 1950s Allied Artists and Columbia B films (all genres). That is what I would go for!

Or some more AIP movie music.

My S-I-L texted me from New Mexico asking if I could find a nice place to eat in Clinton OK - says he's sick of 'burgers - never thought that would happen. Having suffered pulling his trailer over the Rockies he is now "hill shy". I have tried to explain that unless he wants to drop down to Mississippi and go over thru Atlanta to reach I95 he has to address some hills. Actually, I81 runs through the Shenandoah Valley and is not quite as challenging as crossing the Rockies!

You could store them with your BETA videotapes and 8-track casettes.

Goodnight.

No orders from this side of the planet BK.  Each to his own but I could not care less about movie scores unless I am watching the movie.

I was very aware of the Glass music (??????) for "Notes On a Scandal".  For me If I am that aware, then the score to the movie has not achieved its purpose.

So you deem no film score worthy of owning on CD?  Seems odd, but I'm jiggy with it.

No - but that's in West VA - over 60 miles west of where he'll be on I81

Would you suggest a different route?

I just watched the Glenn Ford version of CIMARRON.

It's nothing special, except for that sensational land rush scene...shot without the benefit of cgi.

I miss those days...when a cast of thousands meant a cast of thousands.

I do collect songs nominated for Oscars so thus have song related scores. I also have scores from films like "Gosford Park" for which period songs have been used.

Singdaw, I'm thinking somewhere around November 9, 2001 was when the site went live.

The Little Orange Kitten is now officially a foster kitten.

That looks like a typing class exercise sentence.

The Little Orange Kittem is now ofiicially a foster kitten.
The Little Orange Kittne is now officually a foser kitnen.
The little Ornagen Ktiten if now officialy a forter ktenn.
The Little Orange kittne is noq officially a fostre kitten.
The Little oRange Kitten is now officially a foster kittne.
The Little Orange Kitten is now officially a foster kitten.

My high school typing teacher, Mrs. Selma Gumnit, is probably feeling a chill up her spine right now.

The scary part is that I did not have to try that hard to make all of those mistakes.

;D

It's also scary that I recall the name of my high school typing teacher.
Mrs. Zuckerbow.

Mr. Battle, then Mrs. Emery. :)

For those DRs who have been looking for a way to save their favorite YouTube videos and audios to their computer...

-When you find a video on YouTube that you like and want to save to your computer, just "navigate" backup to the URL/address line in your browser.

-Add/insert the word "kick" before "youtube".

-Hit return.

-A new screen with a menu and options will appear.

*I saw this tip somewhere on the web today.  If you go to http://www.kickyoutube.com you will see a "How To" video.

This doesn't work for me.  I wonder if it's because I'm still on Windows 2000.  I haven't even upgraded to Windows XP. :-\

I go to http://keepvid.com.  That works for me.

I went to my sister's house earlier and just visited.  My sister and niece were watching "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet.  It's a delightful feel-good film. :)
