Now, just remember:  I deliberately tried not to give too much information about the two surgeries on my butt!

Trying to decide on a movie for this evening, but feeling restless in the City of Studio.  May take a drive, since I haven't really been out of the house for more than five minutes today.

TCB I should have waited for part two before posting :).  I guess you are getting the best surgeon.  Is the recovery time expected to be the same?

I have a film question....

Has anyone else seen John Ford's Cheyenne Autumn?  Is it my imagination or is there a heavy emphasis on red?

The appointment with Dr PhibesDr OZ. sounds fortuitous DR TCB.  OZ phibes vibes will be with you all the time and not have the possibility of being rerouted in cyberspace.

I appreciate your sharing exactly the extent of your problems and surgeries, DR TCB. It really helped me understand even in a small way what you're dealing with and what you will be going through soon.

Best continued wishes for your health.

I finished the MONK episode (traffic accident that involved a murder) that I had started this afternoon. There wasn't enough time to start another.

I did watch the end of a MURDER SHE WROTE episode I had never seen that featured Cliff Gorman and George Hearn. Wish I had seen the whole thing, but I'm sure it will turn up in one of the boxed sets in the years to come. Looked like it was an episode from around season 7.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER didn't make me laugh much tonight, and Neil Patrick Harris' Barney character continues to grow crueler and less appealing to me with each passing week. Allyson Hannigan's real-life husband Alexis Denisof made another guest appearance on the show. There was some moderately funny stuff with him.

'24' had another edge-of-your-seat thriller tonight. Such a gripping show.

MEDIUM - - - - - - - - -

Detective Lee Scanlon has been one of my favorite characters for awhile, so this episode that gave us some valuable backstory on him was most welcome. I did guess the identity of the guilty party before it was revealed, but otherwise, I did find it a good (but not great) episode of the show.

My goodness. David O. Selznick had such GREAT plans for Allida Valli to become the next Ingrid Bergman. But though she has some effective moments in THE PARADINE CASE and of course THE THIRD MAN is one of the greatest films ever made, she never registered with anything like the appeal of Ingrid Bergman on the screen.

I found out last Thursday night that DARK SHADOWS producer Dan Curtis had died earlier this month.  I learned this through a joke David Letterman told during his monologue.

Re: tonight's MEDIUM.

spoiler.

I agree that the episode was good but not great.

It is interesting to get backstory.  But I sort of think they stretched it a bit too far.  It's interesting that alison had dreams about lee. And it's interesting that he once got addicted to drugs (and that the current case related to him). But to me it felt a bit like LOST.

With MEDIUM you never know what direction the story is going. There are so many dreams that change what is happening.  But sometimes the story just seems more rewarding. ANd some of those end scenes (with lee, alison, and blonde woman) just seemed like filler to me.  And the end before that wasn't as rewarding as most of the shows have been.

But that said, I liked how the dreams fit into the story. ANd i liked the stuff with the daughter. I love the family aspect of the show.

Deceit now has a musical "theme" courtesy of Mr. Grant Geissman.  So, we'll have main title music, pre-act two music, and end title music.  Very cool evocotive and strange.

Evening all!

How are the gas prices your way?  The most expensive I’ve seen so far is $3.15 for premium.  Thank goodness I have the bus and that we live so close to the grocery store, bank, post office and drug store.

Today I paid $3.17 for regular... and that was the cheapest Icould find. most places are charging $3.25 - $3.30 for regular... of course that was as of 7 PM tonight by tomorrow monring I am sure it will be higher

Oy!  So many wishes to give out, but I can only remember two:

DRvixmom, I don't think you're ready for the Esther Williams Story yet.

No, I can state for the record that when I emerged from the water I was neither beautifully made up nor smiling.  I fear I may have also asked the Lord to curse my basement and the water and the rain with eternal damnation and suggested a suitable eternal residence for same.  then I brought out the wet dry vacuum (the 50 gallon one) filled that up and pumped it out a few times then turned on the dehumidifier after making "dams" from rolled up towels and headed off to teach Sunday School.

The waters are completely gone now, several portions of my basement are looking less cluttered.  The dehumidifier is still getting a workout.  Thank you all for the vibes!!
