The house is filled with the smell of cabbage and beer soup with plenty of ham in it. The aroma's quite wonderful.

Mom and Dad live in Louisville, which is where I grew up.

Louisville.  But you also have a sister than lives in Germany?  Or did I make that up?
I do. My mother's from Germany. Brigitte is technically a half-sister, but I don't bother with such terms. She's my sister.

I see.  Thank you.  None of my business, but thank you.

There was just thunder and lightning here.  Was waiting in the car for it to slow down, cause my umbrella was in the trunk!

I think it is stopped now.

I hope you weren't going to use the umbrella with thunder and lightening.

I had had something like it in Prague, but that was made with sausage. this is just my version.

So, according to The Washington Post, "Bloomer Girl" was a musical about an underwear craze. Guess that whole Civil War thing was just a backdrop.

Back from some chicken tenders.  Think I'll watch the last of the Maria Wern movies in this set (there are three more that haven't been released on DVD yet).  Then we'll see how I feel - maybe I'll then finish liner notes.

In case I missed an early post

My Fair Lady in concert at Albert Hall. (Using the film orchestration)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01kt5b2/BBC_Proms_2012_Season_Prom_02_My_Fair_Lady_Part_1/

Thanks for posting this!  I wonder why it says "Part_1" when it seems to be the whole thing.  Anyway, it's great!

How's Annalene as Liza? She's recording DEAREST ENEMY!

I haven't listened to much of it yet, but I was able to download it and convert it to a single four-hour MP3. :-\ The sound quality is pretty darned good, though...from the little bit that I checked.

I would have no idea what to do with an MP3.

You can play it on your computer, or someone who is more technically advanced than I am, can break it up into tracks and put them on regular CDs.

Ahhh.  But can't I listen to it on my computer now?

Yes, you may, if that was a serious question. Just click on the white icon on the left side of the image of Albert Hall and it will load and play just like any other program on the iPlayer.

That is what I thought.  That is why I didn't know why I wanted to make it an MP3.

Well, we watched GPB (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes). Nothing special, not bad, but not something I need to see again. Jane Russell's number with the Olympic team in the pool is the best thing in the movie. I got tired and annoyed with the whole Tiara thing, Lorelei/Marilyn's stupidity about whether or not she "owned" the tiara wore thin quickly.

I think George downloaded it and made an mp3 out of it so that so he could save it to his computer and listen to it any time he wants to. It will only be on the iPlayer until until 8:22PM on Sat, 21 Jul 2012 although the program will be repeated on Tuesday 17th July at 2pm (London time) and that will be on the iPlayer for another week.

Okay, now I understand.   He wanted to save it, rather than just listen to it.

Hello!  It's been a lazy day for me.  Right now I'm watching The Andy Griffith Show.  I should do something useful.

I wonder how one does what George did.  Is it complicated?

Sunday evening greetings!  We were back fairly early from Lima, but I just now turned on the computer.  I've been dozing in my recliner for a couple of hours...

I just finished watching THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, which I hadn't seen in 10 years.

Great film.  Holds up extremely well.

But, I don't understand how Gloria Grahame won an Oscar for that one.

She's very good...but an Oscar!?!

DR TCB - no show on Sunday.  We did Sunday matinees for a couple of years and got about 60-80 people.....but we were NOT selling out our regular performances.....so I said....those matinees were really taking audiences away from our other performances.

Of course there were naysayers......but it hasn't made a difference in our total numbers to NOT do a matinee, and we save one night's royalty....and the actors get a rest.

We had a lot of wind and rain last night.  Instead of 75 to 85 degrees, they are now forecasting 63 as the high today.

Cilla, I wish you would return their call.

Actually, I didn't read that as anything other than you had not yet returned the call.  I guess my glass is half full today!

Keith thought the same thing.
