Wow, Joe Brooks committed suicide.  Those who've read my memoir know my 1970s connection to him.  Those that haven't read my memoir - well...

Jennifer, I think you are tired because you are sick. I take the same thing when I get sick. It's a standard old antibiotic.

It feels different than I felt before I started taking the meds. Like super drowsy.

I tried it with food and didn't feel as tired. But it could be because i'd already taken a nap. :)

Jennifer, amoxicillin may be taken with food.  it might help your stomach symptoms.  antibiotics always bother me.

I didn't have any stomach problems today.

I know it can be taken with food. But the instructions said that it didn't matter.

And the times I'm taking it are 8am, 4pm and midnight... well those aren't really my meal times. But I can eat for the first 2 - which is what i'm going to do tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to watching the finale of Celebrity Apprentice.    I want John Rich to win but I think Marly may pull it off and beat him

I think I want Marlee to win. Not sure who will win though.

Thanks to all the HHW vibes, I've survived my bus trip with the seniors to Columbus, OH, to see the 2011 edition of

Vaud-Villities

This was their 69th year and they have a brand new home theater in a repurposed J. C. Penney store in a part of town in much need of rehabilitation.

Back in the '70s, DR Elmore and I used to attend a fundraiser for the local hospital called High Fever Follies, which was usually AWFUL.  The show I saw today reminded me of HFF on steroids and with talent.  It was very ambitious and my only objections were that it ran a bit long and the performers were schmoozing with the audience before and during the show in the back of the house.  After the show, fine, but not before and during...

if anyone is watching the weather channel.  A tornado has struck Joplin, MO and the town has been hit very hard.  This is where my sister's family including DR JHVW live.  We have gotten word that the immediate family is ok and that the tornado didn't hit their neighborhood.  Jon's friend Joe still lives in the house where they both used to live.  He is in the area that was hit hard.  His neighbors house is gone, but Joe is ok.    I am amazed at the sights on TV.  I know what this area looks like.    According to what I've seen on the internet, hundreds of people are trapped in a WalMart and a Loews.   It's sad.

Just talked to Jon.  He is in shock.  He went to get Joe.  The house Joe lived in is destroyed, It was a cute brick house. The room Jonnie used to live in is gone.  Joe rode it out in a closet and Jon was surprised he survived.  He saw someone in Joe's neighbor's yard who was dead.  It sounds just awful.  I am very thankful my family is alive

Jon said they got some clothes for him and he's with Jon's family now.  Jon has lived at his parent's house for quite a while, it makes the most sense while he's still in college.  I'm pretty freaked out right now. Jon said the high school is gone, the new Walgreen's is gone, Walmart is gone, all the restaurants and stores a long a major road are gone....oh my

DR Cillaliz - even hearing from you and watching The Weather Channel, this seems so unreal.  You have every reason to be freaked, but at least you've heard from your own family.  They, and you, will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Ginny thanks for the congratulations - the trip was a lot o fun and I am so glad I went along -  no retelling of the tale  could have possibly reproduced the feeling of sitting there in that stadium as the awards were announced  -  I was sitting with the Vixter and her friends - all members of the chorus - and she and  all of her female friends are also members of the women's choir

As they announced 5th place, 4th place, 3rd place and our school was not named  the held hands were squeezed tightly , breaths were held ... 2nd place not us..........a loooooooooooooooong pause...

First place with a rating of "superior " goes to ................................................. .........................(I finally know what the finalists in Miss America feel like)................................................. ................."Insert our school name here"

Absolute pandemonium - one of the chorus dads who was with us had tears streaming down his cheeks - the kids were besides them selves with joy  and (this  made me so very proud of the kids)   within seconds they had all turned from where they stood  and faced their music director, applauding her and shouting "thank you Mrs. L......."  "We love you Mrs L!!.".

and then we got to do it allover again for the women's choir!

and when they announced that our school won for all over best choir of any type - oh. my. goodness.

trip to Hershey Music In the Parks Festival  $200 per person

food at rest areas along the way $ 8  per person

being there when they win the awards--- PRICELESS!!

That is so cool, Vixmom!  Again, Congrats to the Vixter and the choirs!!!
