The Annie was black, the Warbucks wasn't bald, the boy who played Drake also played a walking (with cane) FDR. Most of the anti-Republican jokes were cut, which is probably all for the best, but I missed We'd Like to Thank You, Herbert Hoover.

Their voices were good, but not a single one of them could project beyond the fifth row.

The only one I didn't care for was the Star to Be.

After that, I went to a Beto awareness event and signed up to campaign for him. I also got an Adios, Ted (Cruz) T-shirt.

My friend Gail went with me. We went out for pizza afterwards. I ate too much. It was excellent.

Listening to a really fun sisters trip from the early 1950s (they were popular when all the sister acts were going strong, but this 10" record is from around 1951 or thereabouts.  The Dinning Sisters.  Delightful.

Right now I'm watching the last 30 minutes of March or Die. I think it's going to be a violent struggle between the French and the Muslims.

Ian Holm as an Arabic leader. I doubt that kind of casting would be done today.

I read the first 350 pages of Charlotte Bronte's Villette, a book I had started about 20 years ago and could never finish. I've gotten really bored with it this time through, but today I discovered an audio version in the library. Maybe now I can finish it.

So, the violence has started. The machines are spitting out bullets at a furious pace, the cannons are firing and the guns are going off. People are dying, but none of the horses or camels is getting hit. Strange how that happens.

Still listening to music.  After this batch I think I'll take a long break from uploading more.

Stan's in Westwood, near closing time (at least on weekends, and I'm thinking midnight, but whatever), would get rid of the day's inventory by selling donuts at the window for a buck per bag. There was always a line, and you'd get several good ones which made such a lovely Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast. Stopping there after a movie before heading home from Westwood was mandatory.

Good thing I didn't know this when I worked across the street.

Back then I was more likely to buy an Orange Julius from his outdoor stand.  He added an extra ingredient making them the best Orange Julius's ever.

An apple fritter went well with it if I had extra money to spend.

Today, I need to do some laundry and the organize and catalog the props that I have.

Well, I didn't do any laundry. ::) First, I went prop shopping, then helped my sister at her house for a bit.  Her boyfriend brought pizza, so I took home some leftovers.

Then, I did a little more prop shopping.  I bought a small plastic storage container at Michael's (not Michael Shayne's ;) ) that I'm going to use as the covered cake holder.  It's a rectangle which will work better than a circle.  It was normally $15, but was on sale for only $7.99!  Their actual covered cake holders were not on sale and cost $29.99! :o Not gonna happen!
