It's very amusing, but on every theater website they're saying the strike will begin at ten in the morning. "They" meaning "sources" or faceless people. But, when one reads the latest release at Playbill, there's this interesting paragraph:
"Neither the League nor the union has released an official statement. Lisa Linden, a spokesperson for the League told AP, "We have not heard from Local One regarding a strike and it would be shocking if they would hurt the theatergoing public by shutting down Broadway without notice."
In other words, while there may well be a strike first thing in the morning, there has been NOT ONE OFFICIAL WORD that such a thing is happening. Maybe it will, maybe it won't, but all this "sources say" is horse manure - when it's official it will be official, and it ain't official until the fat lady sings first thing in the morning.
