Jose, you're right: there are too many people in love with their own work, which is why so many shows don't.

TOD:

A Man Called Peter
The Nun's Story
The Cardinal
The Shoes of the Fisherman (mostly for the music)
Friendly Persuasion (yea, verily....I think it's a most-religious-themed movie).

Back from a lunch - had a sandwich and onion rings.  It is actually raining and chilly here in the City of Studio.  And boy did we need it.

DR Dan (theMan), the movie is THE MIRACLE, a play Max Reinhardt directed everywhere in the 1920s (on Broadway, Jan - June 1924).

It was a wonderful day in the studio and I know we're heading for a bad day soon. The ladies' ensemble was terrific, and everyoen was in great voice today. I hope tomorrow goes well.

JohnG, the acupuncturist today said there are ways an acupuncturist can help with chronic kidney stones, though he said typically the first approach is dietary/nutritional.

Had three packages, one of which contained the new Blu and Rays of The Maltese Falcon and Treasure of the Sierra Madre, so I'll watch one of those this very evening.  Also, got the latest batch of Varese Sarabande club titles - listening to Goldsmith's Gathering of Eagles score now - very nice.

TOD:

I'm not much into religious-themed movies, unless you would consider FIELD OF DREAMS one.

Most of the classic ones that I can think of (e.g. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, THE ROBE, etc.) are too "self-important".

I'm not much into religious-themed movies, either...unless they're funny (for the most part):

Dogma
It's a Wonderful Life (okay, this one isn't that funny)
Lilies of the Field (and neither is this)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Nasty Habits
Oh, God! (I only saw the first one)
Sister Act
Trembling Before G-d (very not funny)
The Trouble With Angels

thank you. The cause for me is calcium. Yet none of my doctors wants me to eliminate dairy from my diet.

My late Uncle took me out to lunch with Harrison Starr, who either exec produced or associate produced THE CARDINAL.  We ate at some crowded outdoor place in the Village, and I remember Harrison, who indeed had a LOT of hair ;), telling me I should pursue writing rather than acting, as it was much easier to make a living that way.

I eat virtually no "real" dairy (soy cheese, almond cheese, etc.), yet I also produced calcium stones.  There's no winning.

Do you make your own almond cheese? Sounds good.

No, the local health food stores (and Fred Meyer, the local Kroger affiliate) carry a great almond cheese.  It is very tasty and even better, it melts "normally," unlike soy cheese.

The brand name of the almond cheese is Lisanatti.  I highly recommend the mozzarella.

I wonder if my niece (who's a vegan) knows about this brand.  She's tried several non-dairy cheeses and really hasn't been happy with many of them.

Good Evening!

What a truly dreary day it has been here in Manhattan. Thankfully, it seems that the weather outside hasn't been affecting too many people on the inside. Of buildings, that is. Or something like that.

DR elmore - I'm glad that you're recording sessions have been going so well.  As for a "bad day", well, I hope you don't end up self-fulfilling your prophecy. Besides, that "bad day" probably won't occur until the mix-down sessions.  ;)

It's all going too smoothly and that worries me. I hope there are no rough sessions, but there are two days left on this one and three more sessions totalling around eight days after that between Oct 19 and Jan 2011..

Well, I'm off.  tonight, Timberland is presenting An Evening with Edgar Allen Poe at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.  It's part of the library's annual Timberland Reads Together program.  I said that I'd volunteer and no, it's not on work time.  I'm not sure what I'll be doing, but I'll at least get to see what's going on.

Until later!

Vixmom good find on the Zippy book.  If I ever come across it I will have to pick it up.  I knew a Zippy years ago.  This one is too young to be the same person-lol.

Today I see an acupuncturist for the first time in several years, to see if they can alleviate this bothersome lower back pain (which has extended down to my left heel) that I have had chronically since my bout with kidney stones.  I went to an acupuncturist several years ago who magically lowered my blood pressure almost overnight, so I am hopeful.

MEGA VIBES IT WORKS!!!
