Matt H. we took a similar trip to Mexico when I was eight.  Flying into Mexico City at night the pilot let us go up front and look at the lights of the city just before we landed.  It was amazing.  On the flight from Acapulco back to Mexico City I threw up the entire way. Most of my horror stories involve being air sick.  They are nothing compared to the delays, hassles and sitting on planes for hours going nowhere.  Keith has some real horror stories, such as watching them tape the wing to the plane before taking off in Costa Rica, after an unscheduled landing.

Michael Shayne-LOL-you had me going there for a minute.

TCB I hope you have a right kidney.

Emily I hope your Issues in CDN Democracy exam went well.

Welcome MBrandon and our new Donna.

“night all.

GOOD writing work vibes for DRPANNI.

Here is my cousin Lana, who I spoke about on a recent TOD - as a junior in High School....the hairstyle will be familiar to some readers of a certain age.  ::)

DR Jane, I had a very similar thing happen at a gig I had here for years at 13 Coins, which was a very swank downtown restaurant and piano bar (beautiful white Yamaha grand with a "surround bar").  Anyway, they fed me extremely well and one night I ordered a huge salad, making sure they knew I was a vegetarian and not to put any meat in it.  Well, it came (huge, overflowing plate, really stupendous) and I took a great big bite and said to the waiter, "Boy, these are really incredible bacon-bits."  You can guess the rest.  :)

PR gig went just fine tonight. I'm sure we sold some tickets to one of this weekend's performances. We didn't give them any of the really fall down laughing stuff. Just a few songs both fast and slow.

Good Evening!

That was a close call... I almost Wussburger'd out before I meant to...  I was listening to a symphony broadcast on the radio.  I heard the Strauss ("Till Eulenspiegel..."), then I heard them introduce the Hindemith Violin Concerto... Next thing I heard was the finale of the Dvorak Eighth Symphony... about an hour and half later.  Hmmm...  I just hope my late day/early evening nap won't interfere with my sleep plans for tonight.

-I was tempted just to turn out the light, and continue sleeping... hmm...  But then, most likely, since I had not yet set my alarm, I would find myself in a mad dash to get to rehearsal since in the morning since I had overslept...

...Alarm set.

Is anyone following this?  I'm not sure I am...

DR Danise,

Yep, latkes are potato pancakes - traditionally served at Chanukah, though I could eat them any time.

And so could I!  DRDIT, I couldn't accomplish your request; there were no strangers to entice with the name of Olga Rodriguez!  I'm sorry.

Oh, come ON, Jose.  I mean, really.  Get with the program.  If I bring the sheet music, the next thing your going to expect is that it be in MY key!  Then how am I going to shoot you dirty looks and blame the piano player for my sounding bad????  Sheesh! :o   ;D

DRDanise, LOL! ;D ;D ;D

I loved Olga's Peter Pan.

I preferred her "Born in a trunk" medley.

Maybe you just need to go down to the front desk and ask for another cookie.  That will make you less furious.

I preferred her "Born in a trunk" medley.

It's all so crystal clear now.  That's where Olga was--in the luggage they took off the plane!

Did she do her famous "It's Not where You Start" when they let her out?

A splendid dinner was had by the A-list crowd at Joe Allen's.  PennyO was the most famous star in there, and her gentlemen callers included me, Der Brucer, S. Woody White, Elmore, and - who else?   Oh, yes, some Guy named Bruce whose book was flying off the shelves at Partners In Crime earlier.
