Once up, I got coherent as fast as I could and began futzing and finessing so I could send the first batch of pages to Muse Margaret. I was pretty happy with everything, so there was only the usual smoothing out, a couple of additions and a couple of subtractions. I also went back to some earlier chapters to check on a few things and I'm glad I did because I ended adjusting a few things I'd let slip by - very helpful - and I'd also changed a character name when I was about thirty pages in and I hadn't fixed that in the earlier pages, so got that done. I called Muse Margaret and told her the pages would be there in moments. I made a PDF of the first 120 pages and off they went - I was quite nervous about it, really, mostly because I struggled a lot with the first two chapters to get everything feeling right to me and to have the tone right, which is imperative in this book for many reasons. And getting the characters just right. Then I wrote one new page, just so I'd be into a new chapter.
