TOD:The commentary on FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL and BEGINNING OF THE END is terrific. I wonder what they have in common?I also VERY much enjoyed the extras on the EL CID dvd.
And now I need to hurry down to Chelsea for today's (short) round of callbacks.Laters...
Just another ordinary day here in The Living Room…
Hi, DR elmore! -I just got back in from running some errands - which I meant to do after my auditions this afternoon, but...Margaritas tonight?
Well, I had a rather touching time yesterday reuniting Frances' nephew with his long ago U of W and NYC friend. They are both pretty much slack-jawed at reconnecting after almost 50 years. And in the continuing synchronicity department, the theater guy here mentioned to me yesterday he was glad to be reconnecting with his old friends because he had just read of another of their class' alum's death--James Callahan. I'm sure you of a certain age will remember Mr. Callahan. Well, Mr. Callahan was married (at least at one time) to the eldest daughter of our next door neighbor in SLC! (This was around the time of "Wendy and Me"--remember that one?).
Can we have dinner tomorrow night? And margaritas? I've sort of settled in and don't want to move.
Here's some inforon TOFT at the Lincoln Center NYPL:http://www.actorsequity.org/NewsMedia/news2006/TOFT.asp
I thought the Super Bowl halftime show totally boring.Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers obviously have talent and a fanbase...but the entire presentation was a major letdown for me. Add to that the conceit of letting fans (read that: Fan Club!) onto the field with lights to complete the "concert" image they tried to put over.Super Bowl halftimes USED TO BE spectacular and wonderful.
Has Richard Burton's HAMLET ever been released on video or DVD?
And when you are down there, Jose; you tell them that there is no way that I am understudying Miss Mazeppa.
That should work. I'm playing Mary Poppins auditions all day tomorrow (and Wednesday), so I'll probably be in need of a margarita.
Concerning yesterday's comments about the lack of fairness in primary elections and our two party system:B. In CA there are presently 6 State recognized political parties; each party is allowed to draft their own rules for Primary voter participation. For the Feb 08 Presidential Primary, as follows:
Great! I plan to spend my morning doing all the wrapped up laundry, so I'll need a margarita or three as well!
I thought the girl from AMERICAN IDOL who sang the National Anthem did a wonderful job. It didn't top Whitney, but it was damn good.
DITTO! Actually, most of them left me shaking my head. Some of the worst ever, I thought. Left me thinking,"They paid that kind of money to air these!?"I did like the Bud one with the horse being trained by the dog, and the one with Will Ferrell as the basketball player, and the one with the folks nodding off/spoof of the old SNL skit with Will and Chris. But again, worth millions? .. hmmmm, I don't know about that ...Oh, and the water one with the dancing lizards has major logo-identity problems -- everyone in the room I was with thought it was a Geico promo at first...
It is still raining. If it is sunny tomorrow, I will walk to my old high school for Super Tuesday. Well, my new old high school. They tore down the old one and built a new one a couple years ago. I haven't seen it yet, except to drive by.
sounds like a toga party!
And tomorrow is Mardi Gras too!*If the turnout is like it was last time, I'll probably be done early, around 4:00, so... I'll keep you posted.
I wish! So far, this has been no party at all, dammit.
Would you accept Chowsie?
DR TCB - if there were any to get a plate of pot roast to you, I sure would. How 'bout some heavy-duty VIBES instead?
Only if I get all the chow mein I can eat!
Fed directly to you by Miss LuPone?
