I got an interesting email yesterday from some guy in West Seattle who is the "event coordinator" for an upcoming Frances Farmer day, which will include her getting a "star" at Alaska Square and also a retrospective of some of her films. Unfortunately, they're also showing "Frances," which is about as "biographical" as "Harlow," and then are eating at the Shadowland Cafe, which, if you know the history of lies about Frances, does not augur well for the festival's verisimilitude-o-meter. They want me to come up and speak, but I'm booked for one of the days and not sure if I can drive up there, do my thing, and then turn around and come back--we shall see.
And they're putting in the new electricity lines for the new houses next door, so I will be without power for most of the day. Oy.
