I guess the new Peter F. column doesn't go up until California time.
I've cleared the cache, gotten rid of cookies and re-booted my browser but it's still Friday, March 2, 2012 at F on F.

good morn to all

Good morning, all.

Thanks for the link to Riedel's column, Ben. And yes, he was off by a decade with that one. I'm just glad it's still in circulation.

Good Morning to you.
-
Good morning, all! I slept late, maybe too late, but I needed the sleep. I have laundry to begin, some housecleaning and a few errands today. Much of my weekend is dependent on how much music to be edited shows up between now and tomorrow, I regret to say. This entire project of DEAREST ENEMY is a month behind schedule and complicating my life. I'm sure it's the same for all involved. I wanted the whole thing completed by Feb 15. I think we're looking at around an April 1 completion date. There's no one to blame for the delays. There's too much work cleaning up another's project 10 years after the event for too little money, and it would have been easier starting from scratch.
Yesterday, I passed along to the Man From Philadelphia all of the info concerning a new office space, but there's strangely been no response, yea or nay. I'm hoping it resolves itself favorably for us, but I'm concerned.
Time for coffee.

Friday morning greetings! It's hard to believe the first full week of March is winding down and that we "spring ahead" tomorrow night.

I am currently listening to Irish pub and drinking songs. I want to see ONCE again!
Yes! As I heard the music on NPR and while listening to the show, I felt like I was awash in all things Celtic. The set looks like so many Irish pubs we saw in Dublin (not that we went on a pub crawl).

I hope that, if ONCE is a success, there will be a recording of the 20-minute pub set before the show actually begins. Note to all future audiences: curtain may be at 8, but the show begins at 7:40!

LOL, DR der Brucer! I did survive, but today will atone by observing a Lenten meatless Friday.

Here we are on a Friday. Very exciting.
-
elmore, can you dine tomorrow night, yes or no?

There was a(n) hilarious story in this morning's paper about some idiot who managed to get three (count 'em) speeding tickets, all for over 100 mph, within the space of 60 minutes in the Columbia Gorge. Why was he speeding? To make his court date on drug charges.
-
there was another hilarious story of a woman who investigated why Facebook had recommended some unknown woman as a friend and she discovered that this was her husband's other wife.
You know, I hate it when that happens.
-
Suitcase is out and ready for packing. Laptop is in its case and fully charged.
-
elmore, can you dine tomorrow night, yes or no?
No. I'm sorry I can't.
Sunday's good, but right now I'm juggling too many things. This has been a day of difficult tsuris-filled emails, from closing the PHI office and things to be done to facilitate it to problems with getting another office to a missing English lyric in the booklet for the Herbert songs. The booklet looks beautiful with wonderful illustrations, but I've got to fnd the music, take care of the lyrics problem and repair this ASAP.
Oy!

That is really sad. At least she knows now.

There's hail downtown (thankfully my car is in a garage), but storming across the whole city is getting ready to get good here.

From DR Jennifer:
DR Jane where did you buy these ebooks? If it was at B&N then I would look at the comments. Maybe someone else noticed the problem? If you got it from your library mabe ask someone there. I am curious because for the kindle every ebook looks similar to me in terms of print. But i do have the options to adjust things.
Thanks for the tip to check Barnes & Noble for comments. For BLUE by Lou Aronica I found many complaints regarding the font & the inability to adjust it. Unlike others I seemed to have been able to make the print darker which helped.
THE WILD GIRL by Jim Fergus was an ePub book from the library. I found it available at B&N & there weren't any negative comments regarding the horrible font & other problems I experienced.
I'm just discovering that all eBook formats are not equal. The surprise for me was not having the option to adjust the format. I'm glad I persevered as I enjoyed both books & neither was more difficult to read than the paperback the preceded them.

I remember Julie and Carol Together Again, the 3rd one and I also remember that I thought it was pretty bad. I'll be very glad to have CH & LC. I have them both transferred from tape to CD.

I packed, had lunch, did errands and whatnot and went to hopefully pick up packages and an important envelope only to find that at one-thirty the mail place hadn't gotten the mail. I was not so happy and I'll now have to go back whenever they've got it - problematic, of course, because I had to not to banking until I know if the envelope is here or not. I also have sent all the singers their music and charts, so that's done. I'm also trying to figure out whether I should bring a mini-hard drive with me to have some documents on it, should I need to work on them - but I actually think that I can bring a tiny flash drive because the documents take up almost no space whatsoever. I think that's the ticket. And speaking of ticket, I've printed out my boarding pass, too.

Among many of his various other works he is credited with 'Cheyenne Warrior' (1994), an interracial love story, set in the wild west, starring Kelly Preston; 'Dillinger and Capone' (1995) starring Martin Sheen and F. Murray Abraham; and 'The Doorway' (1999) with Roy Scheider, which he also directed.
I could have sworn that said 'Cheyenne Warrior' starring Kelly Preston, Dillinger, and Capone.

I watched the POTO last night on PBS. It was good, but I guess I am just spoiled. First of all, Ramin sang well, but I felt that the WSMA was far better in the role. And after seeing the 92-minute Las Vegas Spectacular, I thought the full version was a bit tedious in places.
-

Didn't someone borrow that for a TV show? I've seen it happen on TV dramas....I guess they do get based on real-life events.
-
The other problem I had with watching it on PBS, I had no idea who the other Phantoms were besides Colm Wilkinson. No one ever said during the 42 pledge breaks, nor did they bother to put their names up on the screen when they were singing.

Did a Sherman Brothers tribute in class today. Hopefully they learned something. Made sure I included the musical numbers that were included in the Shermanized Word Medley, they loved all those.

Matthew, did they enjoy the music? Had they seen or heard it before?

A lot of it they knew as we sing it in class. It was nice to show video also. It makes a connection. I showed Tall Paul, Let's Get Together, Hidgidus Fidgidus, Fortuosity, Substitutiary Locomotion, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (s clip with the Sherman Brothers at the piano along with Walt Disney), It's a Small World, The Tiki Room and Feed the Birds. Along with a one minute clip from the Sherman Brothers documentary (The Boys).

I don't know which side is which, Cillaliz. So, I guess I'd say, the only way to figure it out is ask, Have you ever wanted to punch Fred MacMurray in the nose?

LOL, no, I haven't

And since it's not a blood relative, as my mother says "We're not REALLY related"

Dog vibes of all kinds

How are you enjoying the new instruments, Cillaliz?

Dogs are getting along fine today. Thanks for all your good vibes. Looks like the two that used to fight are ignoring one another. I guess that's good.
-
I am enjoying them all. I need to practice the alto before Sunday. We have a flute choir rehearsal in the afternoon. We're rehearsing in band for our next concert. I was kind of hoping I could play piccolo, but our piccolo player doesn't have a conflict after all and the first chair (who doesn't really like me and who just bought a piccolo) would be playing it instead. That's ok. I'm having a blast
-
Movie's over and I'm a bit done for tonight. Got to get some reading done before I slip into the arms of Morpheus. So, good night, all.

tomorrow morning I am one of the drivers for a group my from church that are going to work at the Bowery mission in downtown Manhattan - but as one of the drivers in, I of course, am also one of the drivers back - so it does not seem that I will be able to join BK for dinner tomorrow night,
On Sunday, Vixter is the assisting minister at church and I am one of her communion assistants - Vixdad is feeling under the weather now so after leaving him to his own devices all day Saturday and Sunday morning I may be unable to get away to come back in Sunday afternoon much as I would like to.

Perhaps someday dear reader Jose will come back and post again - he's certainly posting every few minutes on Facebook, but, you know, maybe he feels more at home there and that it's more about him, even though that is something I will clearly never understand.

It's also funny to me that when almost anyone visits NY everyone who's there comes out to play - I cannot remember the last time that happened on a ME visit - I'll try not to take that personally.
