And the word of the day is: QUIDNUNC!If you'll forgive my butting in, that's CNUNDIUQ backwards.
Smoke on your pipe and put THAT in.
Pasta and shrimp with a chicken breast on the side (hold the Fletcher)Equal parts ;D and >:( (still)
And DR Jose is feeling his way around the pit...
:o
::)
Two weeks from this very moment, DH Richard and I will be on our way to NYC for our 25th anniversary vacation! Dinner at Barrymore's that evening, anyone?
Whatever shall I eat today, I wonder?
Bruce, just trash the leftover fudge so you can begin eating healthy foods.

Ginny - I may have missed it. Did you end up getting tickets for the Barbara Cook concert at the Met?
We're talking Jan 16? An Ayn Rand day?
Ginny I wish Richard’s mother well at the health-care center & a speedy return to her own apartment.
...Now there are all these fake corporate sponsored bowl games (the Tostitos Bowl?!?) with third rate college teams that they have to interspread them throughout the week. Sheesh!
DR Jose, if you decide to go to Buca di Beppo, you had better take at least three others along. They serve only family-sized entres. It's good food--but there's alot of it. The decore is fun, too--make sure to check out the men's room.
Oh, I am sure he will.
Thank you, Jane. She certainly has an incentive to get back to her apartment, because they put her in a 2-bed room with a "permanent" resident. She is one very unhappy camper and feisty enough to give them such a hard time they'll release her back to independent living.
Where in tarnation IS everyone. Vacation is OVER, baby. Time for the errant and truant to get their butt cheeks back here.
I can understand your frustration, DR Dan, but I suspect these staores have instituted this policy because there are some DVD sets now (not yours particularly) which have proproetary extras exclusive to one store or another, and it's just too much hassle dealing with it all.
Sorry this happened, however.
We're talking Jan 16? An Ayn Rand day?
No windwinds? What's the deal?
Speaking of Ayn Rand, I haven't read The Fountainhead or Atlas Shrugged in a while. Maybe I'll reread them this year.
DR DtM - you've got a kewl hair thang going in your new avatar! It's the new Jan Brady for 2006!
;D DR Dan(the Man), this true Blue Michigan Wolverine is delighted to consider one of the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl teams (OSU Buckeyes) "third rate." Of course, who am I to talk, when my team played in a real loser bowl last Wednesday and LOST?
Thank you, sir. And I do it without product.
DR Dan I am very confused. You had the receipt, but it was for a different store? (i.e., you tried to return the BestBuy DVD at Circuit City and vice versa?). I didn't know that there was any store that would accept any item that was not bought at that store.
It sounds very frustrating and I'm also sorry you had to go through that. But it makes sense (unless i'm misunderstanding the whole thing!).
Lucky you, DtM - I would have to do it without HAIR!! :P
JR will probably kill me for this, but--just read The Fountainhead. It's the same story as Atlas Shrugged, only several hundred pages (and one unbearably long John Galt speech) shorter. ;)
Ayn Rand - Atlas Shrugged Dance. ;D

Sorry for dissing your team, DR Ginny--I was just ranting about the proliferation of bowl games. I don't really think OSU is third rate so much as--er--well, I'm not sure that they would have made it to a bowl game years ago when there were not as many. ;)
How many absences do you think will occur because their bowl game just entered the 4th quarter in Arizona?
What's up with the weather? Seems like it's raining and storming everywhere there are HHW'ers.
DR Danise - Happy New Year! What are the particulars of Michael Crawford in NYC later this month?
DR Danise: When is your surgery??February 22nd.

Hmmm...where does one stuff the dollar bills?
Well, I'm off to my parents' house for dinner. Afterwards, I will be back home! And I get to sleep in my very own bed with my very own cat lying on top of me. ;D And I can post late into the evening again. As much as I like getting paid for house-sitting, I am always glad when it's over.
Be back later!
And a very early:
~~~Good Luck Vibes for Danise's Surgery!!~~~
Happy New Year to you too!
As to the particulars.....
Has Jed caught up yet?
JRand, when I was in high school, my history teacher told me that I needed to read Atlas Shrugged and he would give me extra credit if I would read it and tell him what I thought about it. I did and loved it. I read it every 10 years or so. It doesn't have the same effect it did when I was in high school and it gets very long at times, but I still enjoy it.
Although what I would really like to do is take a nap.
I was returning to Circuit City and had the receipt for Circuit City. The DVD I was trying to return, however, was purchased in another store. Even though it was the same exact item as was listed on the receipt, Circuit City considered it a completely different item since it did not have their own barcode on it. I had the same problem at Best Buy, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who went through this rigamoroll. It's a stupid policy.
Umm...anywhere it fits? :o
;) ;D
I would say stuff the bills somewhere around the equator. :o
I watched some varied things on TV and DVD tonight.
First up was the Bob Fosse biography recorded from, what else, the Biography Channel. A fairly cursory look at his life and career, and once he won the triple crown of director awards in 1973, they zoomed through the remaining 13 years of his life in less than 10 minutes. That meant a lot of really fine work - like directing LENNY on film - didn't even get mentioned. And even though ALL THAT JAZZ did get mentioned, its Cannes Palme d'Or wasn't mentioned. STAR 80 never got mentioned either.
Not a very satisfying biography when all was said and done.
Re: the BARRA MACNEILS cds/dvds you might be able to find them cheaper at amazon.ca. Not sure.
