I think I wrote fifteen or sixteen pages today.  Unbelievable.  And I'm still in 1973 :)  But I'm only on chapter six, so I think it's all fine.  I've got two long sections coming up, but once I'm passed those, then it's more like the highlights of years.  But boy am I having fun.  And if something is going on too long I'm sure muse Margaret will tell me.

Good Evening!

The Theatre World event at Barnes & Noble was fun.  To open the program, I played "Cry Me A River" while d'Adre Aziza (from Passing Strange) sang "Cry Me A River", and then I just sat back for the rest of hour while Ben Hodges, the current Editor in Chief of "Theatre World" and his staff and the Special Guests talked about this and that, and that and this.

There was a nice crowd.  It wasn't a full house, but I also wouldn't say that it was poorly attended.  And I guess since the "surprise guests" were truly "surprises", the usual horde of autograph-seeking, picture-taking and chatboard-posting chatterati was not there.  Whew!  However, there were some "regulars" - and some homeless people who stop into those events to take a nap in the room.

The special guests tonight were: Josh Grisetti (Enter Laughing and the pre-empted Broadway Bound, Susan Louise O'Connor (Blithe Spirit with Angela Lansbury), Brian Kerwin (Emily, August: Osage County, Susan Kellermann (33 Variations among others) and Len Cariou (Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Teddy & Alice, etc., etc., etc.).

DR JMK - Len Cariou does remember "saving" Glynis Johns.  A few times.  ;)

AARRGGHH!!  I knew I was forgetting something last night.  I totally forgot to record Passing Strange.

Oh, well.

If you have more than one PBS station in your area, maybe one will air it at a different time (we have 3 PBS stations in our area). And you might try a search to see if the station is going to rebroadcast in the near future.

Of course, if you really want it, it'll likely be offered for sale at some point on DVD.

I guess Passing Strange must be in the air, because...

-I played for d'Adre Aziza earlier tonight.

-WNYC here in NYC is re-broadcasting Passing Strange right now - and I'm DVR-ing it right now.  It will also be on again Sunday afternoon and sometime next week too. -I'll watch it sometime this weekend.  And...

-The DVD was released this past Tuesday, and it's available on Amazon.

Nice pictures, Jose!  And I just checked and Passing Strange will be on again on Sunday.  I just set my DVR. :)

DR JMK - Why do I have a feeling that you actually read all that fine print? ::)

We have a deal on the new house.  Now on to the inspection phase.  Oy.  I must say I am severely disappointed that none of you have purchased our current house at today's remarkable 1% discount price.  ;)

Well...

It's late. I'm tired. And I'm supposed to head down to the Lincoln Center Atrium in a few hours to get another 20for20 wristband.  -The 2:00 matinee for the New York Philharmonic will be available tomorrow, as will the New York City Ballet's "Romeo + Juliet".  -So it looks like I'll be spending the day at Lincoln Center.

*And I have to say that those $20 for South Pacific are quite the steal!  Even at TKTS, at half-price, you'd still be paying $45.  -And on my way to B&N, I passed through the Atrium to check the availability, and at 6:10pm, they still had almost all of today's offering up on their board: NYC Ballet, NY Philharmonic, Big Apple Circus, and South Pacific.
