-Oh, and I've been meaning to ask you - and DR Matthew - Have either of you seen any of the damage/results from the oil spill in the Bay?

Only on the news.  My acquaintance with the Bay, sadly, is riding either under it on the BART or driving over it in a vehicle.

Well, I need to get cleaned up, and head down to catch the final run-thru of Irving Berlin's White Christmas before the company heads up to Boston tomorrow morning.  And then it's dinner with some friends.

Laters...

Who's doing the "Danny Kaye" part in this production?

DR Edi - I love the wreath and wish I had the talent to make one for our front door.

I recently bought myself my Christmas (2007) present (I always give me the best present!!).

Christmas present? The other day several of you were talking about the Christmas spirit. Christmas is here already? Did I miss something?

I recently bought myself my Christmas (2007) present (I always give me the best present!!).  It was a Canon SD 800 Elph digital camera.

I began reading the instruction books (!) yesterday (oy!), and was able to snap a few photos before becoming too overwhelmed with iconography and what it all means.

I stepped out onto my balcony and this is what I photographed:

It's Pulliam's Geraniums! :D

Nice pictures of nice flowers!

I began my afternoon with last night's CSI: MIAMI. A pretty good episode. Dean Cain was the primary guest star as a father whose son was murdered for seemingly no reason.

I'm listening to Henry Mancini's score to Without A Clew, which has just been released on CD.

Now if they'd only release a decent anamorphic DVD.  One of my favorite Holmes-related media (has anyone read The Case of the Philosopher's Ring?).

I'm one of those people who start shopping for Christmas in June, or thereabouts.

I do not/cannot/will not put things off to the last minute because I travel 3,000 miles in early December to my mother's home and everything MUST have been done, wrapped, shipped/in the mail before I get on a plane.

Next I watched the remaining special features on the second disc in the set. Among them are a stills gallery (with some interesting looking lobby cards and posters from around the world), an audio critique of the movie (against film clips, stills, etc. on the screen), and excerpts from Hitchcock's interviews with Francois Truffaut (which were later translated into his 1967 book HITCHCOCK). The only annoying thing about their interview was that Everything said by either man had to be translated by an interpreter, and she's talking over them as they're trying to forumlate questions or particularly answers (which seems to intimidate Hitchcock and doesn't allow him to always seem to complete his thoughts.)

The final bonus feature on the disc was the 1941 comic adventure CROOK'S TOUR with the two featured characters in the film - Caldicott and Charters. It's 81 minutes of film that could have been done in 30. I'm sure it was wildly popular in Britain at the time, but though I find them amusing, 81 minutes was a bit much for me. That's a bonus I'll never watch again.

I'll watch THE LADY VANISHES many more times (hopefully).

Before we leave for Montgomery Inn for DH Richard's birthday dinner, here's a tree that we can see from our front porch.  It's in the yard next door - I'd have removed the trash cans if it were in our yard.

I did not mean to be critical of you, Ron. I, too, like to plan ahead. It's been a really busy, hectic year for me and I wouldn't have been at all surprised to find that Christmas is TOMORROW! I prefer years when I am less busy and more on top of things.

My sister Paula just called.

Emily and Ryan were  married a month ago today, and today Ryan was admitted to the hospital.  There is a possibility that he has some cancerous tumors behind his bladder and it will be known for sure probably later today, he will be moved to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore very soon.

Prayers and good thoughts will be most appreciated, and news will be shared when it is known.

~~~Super Vibes for Emily and Ryan!!~~~
