Well.....I am sure you made a good purchase DR DtM - there will be those who want that album LONG after however many copies are pressed.  And they could be counting the emails and need one thousand before they do another run....

If they do another run.  If they do, hopefully, they'll do something to it that makes it different from the original and less special like NOT having them numbered or including a CD copy.

I went to the bank today to check out the current worth of this CD for $7300 we found in my dad's safety deposit box.  The bank can find nothing under the number, my dad's name, my name, or my social security number!  I'm wondering if he sent me this 10 years ago and I put it into my IRA?

I'm quite puzzled!

Oh, I forgot about that.  I got one also, #581/1000.  I scanned the cover of the album to make a booklet for the CD.  Here's what the album looks like:

DR George, when I saw the cover I thought, "Ewww--that's the best they could do?"  But it is an exact replica of what's used on stage.

Here's a clip of the cast signing copies of the album (which I'm sure will go for a prettier penny than mine ever will.)

Re:  What is the last extravagant thing you bought for yourself, something that while maybe not even that expensive, you just wanted and went ahead and got, despite the fact that you might not have really even needed it?

I could say it was a Frenched rack of lamb ready for thawing/broiling.

But...nah-h-h-h-h....I'm certain you already know it's the electric grill that arrived on Friday!!!!  (I have now PERFECTED the grilling of my favorite steaks on this grill!)

(Yes! I'm lying.  While I LOVE my grill, there's nothing to compare with my recently acquired Panasonic 37" plasma HDTV).

DR RLP - the BEST television I EVER had was the first one I bought:  a 19" color portable from PANASONIC.  It never died, never gave me any trouble, and was easy to operate.

I finally gave it away when it was over 10 years old.  For all I know, it's still working!

I'm up, I'm up.  I guess I needed to sleep because I slept very well and a very long time.  Now I shall try to ungroggify quickly, because I've got lots to do, including a big trip to the postal office.

I'm on hold with Mitsubishi - the number in the booklet that came with the TV (a mere two years ago) has changed.  If you dial the one in the book you get a busy signal.  Had I not had another number for them, on which there's a recording with the new number, I would have been getting very angry at the constant busy signal.  I've just been told the wait will be seventeen minutes, but if i hangup I will lose my priority status.  It is to laugh.

DR Matthew, where in Pennsylvania is this town to which you've chosen to relocate?

Danville PA, which is a couple of hours from Harrisburg, I'm still shaky when it comes to geography in the area.

Yes, it's quite a change for this California born boy.  However, it's time for a change.  I'm looking forward to running a business and such - something I know nothing about but look forward to nonetheless.  And being 3 hours away from NYC won't hurt either.  I grew up in a small town (Angels Camp, CA) and I like small towns.  This will definately be an experience.

Well, it wasn't last night, although we both did enjoy "Pan's Labyrinth".  And we'll both be enjoying and/or enduring the day-long AMC Oscar festival this Saturday - all five Best Film nominees back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back.  "Babel" starts at 11:00am, and the day finishes up with "Little Mary Sunshine" starting at 9:45pm.

-I had actually though the event would have been sold out by now, but it's not.  Unless the AMC Empire is going to see how many tickets it's sold for the event, and then juggle the theatre spaces (there are 25 in the complex) once they get the headcount.  We shall see.

But it should be a nice way to spend the day nonetheless.

I'm still trying to get a lamp.  I was on hold for fifteen minutes - finally got someone on the phone, gave them all the info, then was told I had to call the parts department to actually order the lamp.  It turns out that number in the booklet is the parts department - you know, the one that was busy.  I spent ten minutes on constant redial, then finally got a ring and was greeted by more voice mail options.  I'm now on hold waiting for someone to speak with.
