OK, I'm dressed for bookselling in my "So Many Books, So Little Time" sweatshirt

I used to have that sweatshirt.  Mine was in bright colors with a crazy, in a fun way, looking woman amongst a pile of books. :)

When we took in Wiggley, I noted to his owner that he had neither a name tag or a state license - she went back home and immediately went and got both items which we went and picked up yesterday (along with two toys). One toy is a large hard rubber red Kong ball. He will chase after it, but not give it back. He prances about the house carrying the ball until he throws/drops it. We now regularly hear "thunk..thunk.....thunk". There is also the grand cacophony when he drops it down the 18 wooden steps leading to the basement!

I'm so very happy Wiggly has his own toys to play with.  For now will he wear a tag with your address and phone number?

Almost the same way I spent the day, only Keith did the vacuuming & I dusted.  Since his fever broke today, and seems to be staying down, I washed and changed the sheets AGAIN.

Atlanta is a mess---everyone has been told not to try to go into downtown. I don't know if the basketball playoffs are still going on. But we came out unscathed---not even a tree limb down.

Great news!  Continued vibes for Greg!

Brett, I would love to know how you lost that weight.  Many years ago, I lost 155 lbs.

Heh.

I began walking. I started with a mile a day. Then that turned into two miles. Then three. These days, I usually walk between three and six miles a day. That, along with eliminating sugary sodas and some other dietary changes, helped enormously. The big "secret" for me was learning how to enjoy the walking and making it a regular part of my day. You hear a lot about making "lifetime changes." That was what I did. What I do is listen to Audiobooks on my iPod.  In the last six months alone, I have "read" numerous books. Before that, I had actually read only a few books in the past 10 years. So I have become healthier AND well read!

When I was buying FANCY FEAST cans at Safeway one day, the clerk asked if I had cats.  I said, "No, but it makes a great meatloaf!"

When my ancient cat was nearing the end of his days, I was feeding him chicken baby food.

One day when I was checking out, the clerk asked: "How old da baby?" I said "20".

I've always wanted to see a tornado.--Lord knows I dream about them all the time.

I dream about them, too, Danise. In my dreams, I see them forming and am torn between the feeling of wanting to take cover and wanting to stay and watch them.

Wonder what the Dream-O-Meter would say about that?

I gather it is di rigeur for us Full Members to talk about what TV shows and movies we're watching from moment to moment.... I am now five episodes deep into the hilarious Flight of the Conchords. Very amusing stuff.

I've only seen one show but I loved it. I bought it for Xmas for friends whom I knew would love it, and they will loan it to me when they've watched them all. A big hit!

Earlier today I talked to my cousin who lives west of Atlanta.  He, indeed, is out of state and missed the whole storm.  Will get more details when he and his brother are in town next week.

DR Edi - Glad today's tornado missed you, Greg and the cats! Whew! Still sounds like lots of cleaning up to do in Atlanta.

Oh, it's such a mess. We were doing cleanup and weeding this morning at the entrance to the neighborhood and our friend Frank was weilding the chainsaw. He's a fireman, and I was surprised that he wasn't downtown for the clean-up. He said he was very happy not to be!

In the year that has passed since I joined HHW, I have lost about 60 pounds, and I am planning on losing another 40-60 this year. If you  have any interest how I achieved this, I am happy to share my "secrets." :)

Yes! Please!

Oh...maybe I should read ahead to see if this has already been covered.

I thought you were looking quite svelte even from your avatar! Congratulations! (Although you've always looked cute, Bretty!)

Vibes to poor DH Greg!

NO KIDNEY STONE VIBES FOR ALL!

Thanks for all the vibes for Atlanta and for my DH!

He didn't end up on the ABC crew tonight (all remote trucks were tied up with other events and other networks) but he found out too late in the day to try the "Home remedy"...the Coca Cola one, anyway.  ;D

So tomorrow morning, lots of cola and asparagus will be consumed. We will have a report with the results...

Wow, Bretty! That's great news!

Now that I am into the Closer schedule, I will be working a little over 3 miles from home. There are good places to park one mile and two miles from work, so I have planned to work up to taking a 3 mile walk to work. I should have started the middle of last week but I was having to carry a lot of heavy stuff with me besides my own excess baggage!)

But I am inspired and will walk to work tomorrow in honor of Bretty. We've also started walking a lot more---walking to dinner, etc. We are lucky to now be living in a place where there's lots of great stuff to walk to.

DR RLP - rent, find, buy, or steal.....DESIRE....if you have any affection for Marlene or Gary, you will be pleased.

Does anyone know if Marlene's performance in the scene in question in WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION was dubbed?

I think it's her voice but electronically altered. It still has her speech impediment.

I am going to have a CinemaScope night tonight....starting with THE ROBE and the DEMETRIUS AND THE GLADIATORS....

I have the first DVD release of THE ROBE, and I find it so poor quality-wise that I jsut can't watch it. Dirty and with encoding artifacts that make watching it a chore.

I read somewhere that Fox is working on cleaning it up for a new release. This is one of their gems that REALLY needs the work.

Next I watched 12 MONKEYS on HD DVD. The movie has always looked soft and erratic on home video (I had the laser and the first DVD release), and while the HD-DVD is sharper, it's still bright in a lot of scenes. SOme of it, though, is undoubtedly the best I've ever seen it look, and I'm glad to have this version of the film, another favorite.

And then I concluded my evening with TORCHWOOD. An Owen-episode (glad this three part story arc is over now) which was interesting enough but not as much fun as other episodes have been.

This was the 8th episode of the season? Wow! Only 5 to go!

Good evening fellow Dear Readers. A very long day. I enjoyed Oprah Winfrey Presents The Color Purple much more than I expected, although I missed a lot of the words because the sound system is so bad.
