Big season premiere tonight. I'll be on NBC all night with CHUCK, HEROES, and JOURNEYMAN, and I'll be recording the season premieres of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and CSI: MIAMI. This may be my last season with CSI: MIAMI. I did not like the direction of the show at all near the end of last season, and this may be the end for me depending on what they do with the season's first few episodes.
Happily I was able to watch, via On Demand, the pilots of both "Journeyman" and "Chuck" last night.
"Journeyman" is very interesting, but will take some work from the viewer. Overall, though, Kevin McKidd does a wonderful job in his role, although it's not clear, after one episode, exactly what is happening to this man who is "pulled" out of "now" into the past, and then returned again on a regular, though unpredictable, basis.
"Chuck" is a complete and utter delight....well-performed, intelligently written and crisply directed. I don't think this show will have any problem finding a grateful audience.
