It would be fun to see you all before I leave but I'll be back on the 19th, not that I have much interest in seeing Truth or Dare on the 22nd but there is always the Boys in the Band on the 29th.

As for Sheena, I do plan on giving her more time.  She is a very sweet dog.

She certainly bonded to me and to Mom very quickly.  When you think it took Brandi years before she would protect the house by barking at any one/thing going up or down the road and Sheena already is-- that says something.

Good morning, all!  I'm hardly awake, but I have a busy day, including lunch with my publisher who's in from LA for the Rufus Wainwright-Judy Garland-Carnegie Hall concert tonight.

I've been offered a show for October's NY Musical Theatre Festival, so I need to pick up a copy of the script this morning.  Somewhere in there, I have a trip to Toyland as well and dinner with my friend Val, which I may postpone till tomorrow.

Thanks for the link, DR Ben.  I've had my set on order for about two months now.

Interesting article. They mentin Keanu Reeves doing Hamlet. My friend was in the production of Hamlet I think he wsa Heration (sp?) and he currently has been acting with the starford festival for the last ten years or so.

Re today's notes and the Kiss My Ass thread to the notes: one of my favorite parodies of an Alan Jay Lerner title remains ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN KISS MY ASS.  That should be the title of something.

Others include MAD Magazine's MY SQUARE LESTER and MY BARE LADDY.

That was sophomoric, but at least it's a post.

Good morning!

It rained off and on all night, and when I woke up this morning, it was raining pretty hard and continued to rain for a couple of hours. It's stopped now, but it's sopping wet outside from three days of showers and downpours, and it's still wonderfully cool which I continue to love.

Having lunch out today with friends and will have to wear jeans due to the cool temperatures. Nice to be able to do that in June.

There is nothing of interest on TV tonight for me, so I'll be DVDing and DVRing all day today. I still have the last 30 minutes of CABIN IN THE SKY to watch along with NIGHT OF THE IGUANA.

I haven't watched ENTOURAGE from Sunday yet, so that's on tap, too, as well as more WILD WILD WEST.

I had problems with parts of KISS KISS BANG BANG, but I must say in the main I rather enjoyed it. I remember DR TPunk did as well. I thought the credits were wonderful. I think because of the fragmented nature of the screenplay, I'd like to see it again to see how it was put together and maybe clear up a few things I had questions about. I'll wait to get the DVD in a used bin.

I thought Val Kilmer was wonderful as the gay detetctive.

I did read the write-up of CABIN IN THE SKY in the Freed Unit book, and it's interesting that Ethel Waters disliked Lena Horne so much. I wonder if that dislike extended after the filming ended. Both ladies went on the more glory years for quite awhile, and I wonder if Ethel spoke ill of Lena afterwards. Does anyone know?

I too enjoyed KISS KISS. I thought it was fun, and some of the weird, disjointed conversations amused me. It was probably the first thing I've liked Val Kilmer in since REAL GENIUS from 1984 or so.
